Lexington road store in GA, has some very verbal employees. I am disabled ask a worker to hand me something and was told to get it myself literally. Went back another day asked for and item that had not been processed in yet be held for me, phone number was taken, I then was called and told the item had been broken. When I walked management out there and showed her how delicate the item was, expressed how much it would mean to me to get it. But the sad part is based on how the employees act I wasn't as devastated as I thought I would be hearing the awful news that the item had been broken and unsellable. read more

Employee turnover is HIGH for a reason. I'm a frequent shopper as I'm a reseller. The bric-a-brack aisle is 50% trash. It takes forever to shop because you have to triple inspect everything - poor tagging / holes in clothes and excessive broken merch. There is no way to test lamps because they're removing the bulbs now. Today there was soiled underwear on the floor for the duration of my visit, over 2 hours. The new security guard Zack made me extremely uncomfortable and I'd advise any sole women shoppers to stay aware. I asked the manager Stephanie for help as he kept invading my personal space. She turned and walked into the office without saying a word. It was baffling. I couldn't complete my purchase because I was scared to leave my personal info / phone on the furniture pick up form. He emphatically refused to move away from me when I asked him to in front of multiple employees and Steph, the manager. Zack also refused to give me his name until another customer intervened: If you're not doing anything wrong as a 'security guard' you shouldn't have a problem with providing your name. After I left that same customer came outside to tell me that the security guard was bad-mouthing me. I'm now considering legal action and will be requesting security footage. Lastly, under previous management I'd been given permission to bring my service dog in. The security guard Zack asked to see my pets tag last week- this is NOT allowed under the ADA. Goodwill says their pet policies are determined by management and are due to customer allergy concerns. Anyone who's ever been inside a goodwill knows that's not true. Me and my mom just left the donation center on atl highway and we dropped off 8 big bags of stuff. The lady who "helped" us literally did not speak we asked her how she was doing my mom even said she liked her glasses. Did not say 1 word just blank stared like we were idiots. I think that if yall are sending someone out to help people unload they should be nice and at least SPEAK when spoken too. I will definitely be going to the watkinsville location where everyone is kind and helpful. read more

This organization as a whole can not be trusted. Especially in Georgia. Right down to the employees. Use to shop in stores for years and that went to hell. Tried online which I never thought was a worse experience. No accountability across the board. More lost items, electronics that don't work, or their fall too is abandoned. You are actually better shopping with ebay where as a buyer you are covered in the event of fraud which seems to be common place with this organization. Just look at their Better Business Report where there is 10% resolved issues out of 100%. That pretty much says it all. What is abandoned is any morals anyone must have to work for this place. Tag colors discounts due to go on sale at 50% on Mondays are transfered out to a different store prior (East and West trade) and (West and Winder trade). So on Mondays you can find very few tags with the color needed for the discount. That's why no one can find much on those days. It's quite the scam read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. The Goodwill on Lexington Road, Athens, GA will only offer a store credit for a return. I bought a dress on Friday, November 10. I couldn't try it on because the dressing rooms were closed, permanently. I paid CASH for my purchase and was told I could return it within 7 days and get my money back. It didn't work for me and I went back to the store on Saturday, November 11 to return it. I was told they would not give me my cash back, but would only give me a store credit. I explained that I didn't want a store credit. I wanted my cash and I was told the day before that I could get a refund. The assistant manager said this had been their policy for two years and whoever told me this was wrong. I told them who checked me out on Friday, but the AM would still not refund my money. I took the store credit and vowed never to shop there again. I will give this credit to a friend. Shame on you Goodwill! You close your changing rooms and make me purchase an item and take it home to try it on. Then when it doesn't work and I want to return it to get MY CASH back, you say no -- only a store credit. This goodwill is absolutely awful. The store is usually a mess and the lady that does books will turn around with her cart of books and run from customers taking her books back. I was just kicked out by the manager who insisted l wear a mask I explained to her I have a disability and have paperwork from my dr. She insisted I leave. I have no problem in any other store with this. Goodwill says they hire people with disabilities yet they kick out eldery people with disabilities. Shame on you Goodwill. A very clean and nice goodwill. There were several employees around to give a helping hand when I needed it. I both shopped and donated at this location. Both staff members that helped me were fabulous. Lots of parking available and the store is just as spacious. Also lots of selection to chose from. read more

Hands down the worst Goodwill I've ever been in. Don't be fooled by the photos: a lot of the merchandise, especially in the appliance and furniture sections, is in terrible shape. In addition, it's horribly organized so it takes forever to find clothes in the proper size. Store manager was incredibly condescending, spoke to me like I was a child with a learning disability. The first time I visited this particular Goodwill store, I wasn't especially impressed by anything. It IS old and therefore appears dirtier than some. It is also bigger than some. But I had a reason to be in that area more frequently and have returned a few times. New merchandise is loaded onto the floor all day long. A LOT of quality merchandise comes, and goes, quickly! This store has a lot of greedy, assholish, hording customers that hover all day waiting for the good merchandise to arrive and destroy the organized shelves and racks without a 2nd thought for anyone except themselves. I saw an antique trunk go on the floor at 9am and disappear by 9:10am. This is common. I've seen women plow through the DVDs/VHS tapes and leave them a mess after pulling the 30 semi valuable Disney tapes out. Also, Goodwill employs mostly people with learning and other disabilities so, if it's disorganized or management talks to you like that it would be because that's who they deal with all day. It's nothing about you. The people working there are really good people of all races. I've not seen anything that indicates any racism. Ask an employee. They have a great Career Center that holds job fairs weekly, too. read more
