Great store. The best thrift in Gainesville…read more Customer service is iffy. A lovely pregnant woman helped me with my transaction and was so kind and helpful. My mom was not so lucky. A heavily-tattooed and pierced woman cashed out my mom, and she could not have been more rude. There were many items my mom had found that did not have price tags, so we brought them up to get price checks before purchasing. We noticed she was a bit on edge from the start, and tried to lighten the mood by paying her a compliment on her glasses. This did us no good. She went on to insinuate that we had taken off the price tags to try and get lower prices. Are you serious? Believe me, we want to know the prices just as much as anyone else, and we gladly put things back that we do not feel are worth the price. She treated us as an inconvenience to her the whole time. And when the lady picked a price for one of the tag-less items, my mom suggested a lower price telling her that it would need to be repaired, and she said with a laugh "I mean, I don't know what to tell you, it's a thrift store." We had had such a delightful experience up to that point, spending nearly two hours on a treasure hunt, and each of us purchased an entire cart of things. This lady almost ruined our experience. I will definitely be back, but now I know who to steer clear of.

Really cool fabrics, and beautiful work, though some are pretty pricey. My favorite purchase so far is two beautifully re-worked vintage ties I bought for my husband. I have also had several garments altered, and was pleased with the service and the result. My only issue is that the kinds of alterations available are rather limited. In a shop dedicated to re-design, this surprised me. However, I will certainly continue to go there. They do the quickest and most reasonably priced alterations in town, they do good work, and it is always fun to see what is new on the racks.
