As you would expect, this Goodwill location, sitting in North Scottsdale, delivers in terms of quality. However quantity and organization can sometimes suffer. Today I found several high end items for sale in the clothing section, including a pair of off-white tennis shoes, a couple of Hugo Boss sports coats, and three or four authentic Ralph Lauren sport coats and shirts. And the cashier mentioned that earlier today somebody purchased $1000 purse that was evidently valued at over $3000 and when they combined it with the 20% off coupon, they paid a little under $800. So not bad. This is by no means a huge location and it can be a bit messy, but the women's clothing section dominates with about 60% of the space. The men's racks are pretty jammed packed. so you gotta push through them to find the good stuff, but it's there. Both of the cashiers at this location are really cool, older dudes with a story to tell and a joke to share when you check out. Definitely a location to hit when you're in the area. read more

We strolled through the misc items and saw a few things but ultimately left them behind. When we were checking out, the cashier was so nice. I had to return 5 items. 2. Curtain panels that werent the right size for my bedroom windows. 3 pair of barely used work out pants that were too big. All had intact tags. I get up to the register and SMH i can't find the receipt anywhere in my purse. So i hand the cashier the 5 items at $5.00 +/- each. She asks for the receipt which I shrug my shoulders and say" I dont have it. Ill just take store credit. " She then informs me their policy - without a receipt she can only gjve me $1 per item in store credit. "So you mean to tell me i spent $25 and get $5 in credit in return???" Instantly my head spins around 360 degrees and smoke comes out of my ears. What kind of sadistic GW executive came up with this policy?? Holy stick it to the. Customer Batman!! Overpriced junk. I can't believe the place smells so bad to begin with. I rather get something at TJ Max, Marshals or Ross. Do not waste your time and $ going to a Goodwill. They say it's a non-profit but all I see it's the opposite. Selling what was meant to go on a dumpster is never a good idea. Bad Service didn't say welcome in when we walked in just stared at us. Then old man with lady hair was picking on customers and telling them their cart was in the way of the aisle when they were shopping in the same aisle as the cart . And then yelled at an old lady sitting down because the store was closing in 10 minutes telling her she needs to get up and leave the store if she isn't shopping then proceeds to pick on my son and daughter yelling at them telling them if they were going to buy their cart with their "allowance" and then told them they need to get out of the store. Way overpriced on electronics, golf clubs and clothes. Tommy bahama polo shirts ? $19.99-$24.99 which is the same price as a brand new shirt at tj maxx. A kids callaway golf club $19.49 which is the same price as a brand new set (per club price). An old ping iron ? $19.49 same price as on eBay. Same story with electronics. Witnessed a scam in action at this particular location while dropping off items for donation. The intake team in the back basically holds items they like while alerting their friends/partners/accomplices to come and pick them up before even putting them on the sales floor. I saw a nice end table I dropped off being wheeled right out of the storage area and straight to the cash register just minutes later. Given the number of other items they carried out, mostly furniture in good condition, it's easy to assume they're reselling everything. It's bad enough that Goodwill gets all of their inventory free--but it's even worse when you see employees blatantly gaming the system right inside the store. read more

great location BUUUUUT, they overprice things here so much that it's insane to buy here where you can spend $1-2 more and get it new. Household goods are ridiculously ovrerpriced. It's not the best. It's not the worst. It's a Goodwill - how can you go wrong? The thing that I like about this particular Goodwill is its location in Scottsdale tends to get pretty good items, lightly used and ready to wear, or take home? We came to stock up on Thanksgiving accessories like gravy boats and extra forks and knives for the 14 guests that we are expecting this year. As is typical for me in the Goodwill I found many other items that I wanted and ended up spending a little more money than I expected. But hey, it's for a good cause. The other location in Scottsdale is slightly larger than this one, however I find this one to be a little more pleasant to deal with. Not as many people grabbing items that you want /have to compete for. While Hayden road continues to be under construction for the past year, it's a little bit hard to know when to turn in to the Goodwill, but you can go around the block and come in the side entrance if you miss the main entrance. Pricing is always way off. Why would you charge more for things that are less brand new?! Iv seen this often, and it's so frustrating! The pricing department needs some extra help and training on how to price things. Iv seen stained, holes and, rips in clothing and is priced way to high for the condition of the item. It's quite sad, this store should be a place where people can go when they need help financially and can't afford new, but with the price point it's not affordable anymore. I haven't shopped at the thrift store here; this review is about the donation center in the back. I have been helping my mom move, and we've had lots of stuff to donate. I've made a few drop-offs here, and the staff that help you unload have always been very helpful. Yesterday I came at 8:30 PM with a bunch of stuff. The donation center closes at 9. The manager in the back gave me a hard time, saying "We close in five minutes. Why didn't you get here earlier." There is a sign that clearly states their hours, but apparently this guy was in a hurry to get home. If I got there 5 minutes before closing I'd be more sympathetic, but they still had another half hour! read more

I am a frequent Goodwill shopper and have been to at least 10 different locations in the valley so in comparison to other Goodwill stores I am not a fan of this one. For starters it's muchh smaller than most I was also hoping the selection would be a tad higher end given it's location, but that was not the case. For me service was borderline annoying. Solely because this one worker lady seemed to pop up everywhere I was and was a bit over bearing. All in all it's a typical Goodwill, nothing special. I have a few locations that are my favorites, always good finds, so I will definitely be sticking to those. This is my favorite Goodwill. The people are nice, the prices are great and they have good junk; ok, good pre-owned treasures. The store is nice and clean and the people are helpful. I purchased a handmade, 100% silk tie with the Oscar de La Renta name tag for $2.29. Actually I purchased it for half that price because it was a sale day. My son was misidentified by another person who had been previously kicked out of that location they didn't give him a chance to talk they just walked up to him told him they were going to call the police and he needed to leave they would not try to talk to my son my son goes in there and I go in there at least three times a week shopping we believe in supporting our community giving to our community from donation to money the best we can and they send my son had been kicked out a few weeks ago so they were going to call the cops on him he left he called a corporate number he left a message we are hoping they will do the right thing and return a call then we called the store and spoke with the manager who apparently was the one that kicked my son out of the store didn't see a name because he didn't give it and he walked away didn't even face my son just told him he had to leave we will never go back into the store again we will never support a Goodwill as long as they treat people like that nope I'll spend the extra money and go to Walmart or Target what a shame I hope something is done with this manager this place is going downhill real quick they're rude to their customers the route to their employees I hope Goodwill does the right thing and contacts my son back or I good luck to anyone who goes there don't get misidentified and be kicked out and threatened with cops read more

Ive attempted to shop here 3 times, and each time Ive had to circle the lot multiple times waiting for a spot to open up, but by then others have spoken for it, and I end up just leaving. Ive never set foot in this store because you literally cant park. You think Kierland Commons is bad? Pfft, this place makes Kierland parking look amazing. They REALLY need to figure the parking lot out. There is room for more parking spaces to be painted in... DO IT!!! You might say "park elsewhere and walk", right? You cant. Its on Raintree and Hayden in an automotive industrial complex (weird, right?) and you cant park anywhere close. So stupid. First walk in to get my groundings look around and it's kinda all over the place. Found some great shoes. Some of the older ladies we ran into were rude about not moving to the side when I tried to walk by. Not a huge selection of clothes but a great selection of home/glassware! I found so many glasses for my home. Cashier wanted to tell us jokes instead of bagging our clothing and glass items??? Terrible. I tried on a few pair of shorts and a lady with long dirty blonde hair in a braid checked me out. I set my four shorts on the counter and one pair was $2.99 two pairs were $4.99 and one pair was $6.99. She then proceeded to tell me how all the shorts were namebrand so they shouldnt have been that low. I ended up walking out with two pairs of shorts for $6.99 and she had to stop me twice because she forgot to ring up the huge stuffed bear I put on the counter, AND the drink I told her I just got. I came in here to look for shirts for work and needed to try a few on. I asked 2 people rolling racks the 1st one says ask the cashier and gets mad and walks away. I ask another and she says the same thing. I said the cashier isn't going to leave her register to come open the door. She says only management can open them. The 2nd employee opened the fitting room before for me a month ago. These people are SO beyond rude they should be fired. The customer service should be A #1 priority if we as customers don't buy anything cause of the attitudes that they have your not going to be getting business here. WORST PLACE TO PARK! Can't find parking almost witnessed like 3 accidents getting in! Our cashier (destiny) was hallucinating or something she was literally looking down at the clothes just cracking up and I didn't see anything funny it was kind of uncomfortable. Also her speech was super slow and a little slurred. This Goodwill has decided that they are now a for profit store even though they receive all the non profit benefits that regular businesses do not. The prices are sky high as in $30 shoes, $20 purses, $25 for broken furniture. Most items are dirty, worn and thrown on shelves like trash as they always have been. There is no customer service, no manager around to discuss this with when you try to find one. They are trying to make the profit of Ebay sellers is the answer from the workers. But they do not care for the items or give the service that you get from Ebay. It's ridiculous how much they are charging for items that they get for free. They don't clean them or repair them. But still price them 3 times higher than any Goodwill in town. They have made no changes to warrant the higher prices. There are other Goodwills using the same excuses for raising the prices. They want the same profit as Ebay without the service. Time to find a new thrift store. read more
