Not even one star. Watched an elder customer get treated horribly by a male cashier, now this time around I had a customer tell the cashier "make sure she pays for those boots" with my 2 toddlers present when the same cashier lady sees me pays for over a hundred or more dollars a week for the kids stuff instead of saying worry about yourself, she apologized to me but also lost my business. I'd rather pay full price at Walmart the prices are more reasonable for new stuff. Good luck at the PT one everywhere else is a more enjoyable experience with nicer people. read more

Nice location. They have a lot of clothing and books. Not much was there when I was there this summer in other areas. Staff was nice, too.

I bought a new comforter the receipt said target. Got to the car noticed in the bag the comforter was in there was rat poop everywhere. I went right back in to return it and of course I couldn't get my cash back. I had to get a gift card. So I went back the next day and noticed the same comforter with rat poop still there was back on the shelf. I went to pay for my items and told the cashier and she asked me to go get it. So, I did and vrought it back to her. She seemed upset that it was put back. The guy who took it as a return the day before acted as if it was not a big deal and more angry that he had to do a return then the fact there was rat poop. Anyways I used my gift card and owed $1.78 so I gave her a $20 she folded the money and receipt and handed it to me. I put it in my purse. I got home and was cleaning out my purse and pulled out the receipt and money and noticed that she gave me $8.26 not $18.26 then looked and she put in that I gave her a ten. I called them and they said if o e of the tills are off by $10 they will call me. So, it is my assumption I will not get a call back because of the sound of concern in her voice was a negative 100. I was dropping off three bags of clothing that contained a variety of mens and woman clothes and assorted shoes on Saturday 10/23. I retired and decided to clean my closets of all my work shirts (dress) slacks, socks All in great condition. I arrived and started to unload the three full bags in the back of my pickup I was told to stop and that the donation could not be accepted. This was due to a light rain and the bags were wet. I showed the attendant the contents were not wet as I live literally five minutes from the store. He still denied the donation! I read the Goodwills donation criteria and could not find anything related to his decision!? How frustrating. read more

The prices didn't bother me since this is a small area and I'm happy to give back to the local economy. I found some great turtlenecks and sweaters. The bathrooms were very clean and the people were nice. They also had a lot of books. read more

They get really mad if you try anything before you buy it. There's an elderly employee, actually two, one man one woman, who double teamed me to leave because I wanted to try out a razor scooter before I bought it. I hope those employees find peace. read more

Every time I go here, items are tossed on the shelves in a haphazard way and it's hard to find what you're looking for. The Barbie dolls are tossed into these bins with heavy items and are often crushed, broken, and dirty. They are in desperate need of organization. Highly recommend that they consider bagging small items and hanging them on hooks so that they aren't destroyed and can be easily found by shoppers. It's too bad because they get some nice items here, but sifting through so much junk is unpleasant. read more

Prices are fine. Just remember it maybe donated but it has to be sorted and stocked. I like this store not only for the great finds but the employees are super nice and very helpful and always out on the floor bringing out new items or moving other items back to originally placed. I have been going to this Goodwill for a number of years since it first opened way back when. Sometimes a place is hit and miss. You can go there find a lot of great stuff and for a month or so you go there and it just doesn't work out. They used to have such good prices many years ago. They had 99 cent clothing Mondays and a person could score big. You could get coats and jackets and clothing for the family for $0.99 and the selection and the quality was good. After all you can't make a lot of money selling clothes. But then has the years went by the selection the quality became worse with each passing year. And during the pandemic it's just gotten horrible. You probably should wear a mask and that store the stench is awful. It has that typical nauseating thrift store smell which stems from dirty clothes of course no one's going to wash them and bring them into Goodwill so you have stained clothing that have been worn a number of times smell of sweat and it's just horrible. I know a lot of the clothes don't make it to the floor they get put in a box and shipped overseas somewhere I believe. but Goodwill is supposed to be a place where people who don't have a lot of money and are disadvantaged financially can find something for themselves or their kids. But sad to say this store has become one giant garage sale. It seems that 80% of the store is clothing. Rack after rack after rack of dresses of t-shirts of whatever is clothing. And tons of old books I don't mean collective books I mean books that are outdated. And a lot of broken picture frames and there's no nice arrangements like they're used to be. They even used to have a mannequin that they would put a dress on and they used to have end caps that were really nicely displayed and it's all gone it's just one big horrible unsightly mess. It's not attractive at all. And I think the prices are way out of this world for a thrift store. They used to have coffee cups for a quarter plates for $0.50 I don't even know what they are now because I don't want to touch anything. I really hope that maybe if this is red that someone will do something about it. It would be great to see the nice displays again and I catching displays and an end cap that makes you want to go and look and see what that is about. But it's just used items that are put on a shelf and they were there for maybe three weeks and then they're just tossed away. Just some constructive helpful criticism. And maybe cut down on the prices. I don't think they sell furniture there anymore haven't seen any furniture since before the pandemic. Just a lot of stuff thrown on a shelf that's all that it is. It's unsightly it's this organized and I won't even go there anymore. Just because of the stitch in that store is horrible there's no air circulating and it's just a not good shopping experience. read more

This GW is a dump. I've been shopping at goodwill shops up and down the west coast for decades and this place is the most disappointing one I've ever visited. 70% of the clothing is stained, torn, uncool vintage & worn out. The book department and housewares, in no way reflect the community. This place needs new management, a really good cleaning and some serious quality control. The workers on the floor were great and doing their jobs, pretty sure this is a poor management problem, local and regional. People are donating record amounts of goods, someone needs to ship some good stuff over to PT pronto. read more

I try and like this place...I pass thu on business every week and love Thrift stores...but not this one. You can bet if you like it there is a ridiculous price on it. The most horribly stocked. Worst ran goodwill I've ever had the mispleasure of wasting money at. I've bought a DVD player that failed within a day. A blender that leaked everywhere. And once you buy all you get is a gift card upon return. The clothes are garbage. The manager seems like she has no clue how to run the place. I like goodwill it used to be nice to have once local but make the trip to Silverdale or even sequim. Far better selection and much better customer service. The company needs to make some serious changes at this location. Until they do I'm done with this place. read more

I LOVE thrift stores. The bargains and things one can find change from day to day. Goodwill USED to be the go to place while on the hunt for treasures. Unfortunately what I have found with any and ALL Goodwills is the HUGE markup of prices on goods which were donated. I mean you may as well go to Wallmart or Target and buy it brand new! I saw a pair of new socks at Goodwill and thought, okay, they cant be much. Probably a close out that a store donated. Goodwill wanted $10.00 for the socks! And they were ONE pair of socks. The rest of the store was the same! Maybe they should change their name to Goodluck Will, because there sure aren't any bargains to be found there. read more

It's like any thrift store. A hit or a miss. It's best to go when there is a sale. I'm not a fan of supporting goodwill. But I haven't found any other thrift store in Port Townsend to be as inexpensive. Well except for the Children's consignment store on Sims called Hey Baby!!! If you're a mom you have to shop there!! Most things for children are the same price as Goodwill. They are also very friendly & it's easy to bring kids in. If anybody knows of other inexpensive thrift stores pls. Comment! It's better for the environment to shop second hand. I always wash everything a few times. I have had good luck on toys and lamps as well! Most toys you can throw in the dishwasher, or hand wash or wipe them down with rubbing alcohol. I'm a hippy but like things clean. read more

1 starWas shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding. Employees ignored me repeatedly while I needed let into the dressing room, often leaving me waiting while they socialized with each other. Finally found a dress I liked and went to the line to purchase it and despite the fact that at least two people saw me waiting was still not served. One employee went to serve another customer with a locked up item, and the other decided that putting away some hangers was more important than serving a customer. Left without buying the dress. I'm not normally one to complain like this, but get it together. I felt like an unwanted annoyance the entire time in the store. Will not be returning. read more

prices are ridiculous, staff isn't friendly at all. Sometimes the selection is OK but $12 for a used pair of pants is ridiculous.

This place has some ridiculous standards when it comes to donations. Tried to donate a clean, excellent couch last week only to be told there was a small stain and it was rejected. A quick buff with my sleeve took it out and they still turned it away. Considering the condition of items inside for sale, I'm not sure what they expect, but a clear policy would be nice to have handy to share with the public. Inside the store, I've found the selection to be small and disorganized. Staff are typically friendly but not helpful. Sequim and Silverdale are way better locations for Goodwill store shopping. read more

I've always wanted to go to a Goodwill store, seeing as I am a fan of VV. When I walked in her, the clothing was kind of disorganized, I walked over to the shoe selection, didn't get anything. The books were alright though... But then I walked to the toys section, and picked out a few beanie babies for $1.25. It was really funny because Elizabeth and I went in to look at clothing but then came out with a ton of stuffed animals instead. ^^ read more

In general, merchandise seriously overpriced for it's condition and quality. Bargain hunters save your time and go to garage sales and other thrift stores, although perhaps not in Port Townsend. Once in a blue moon, I find a desirable item at a good price, but most of the time I find the inventory depressing. read more

Of the three North Olympic Goodwill stores this one tends to have the best stuff. Sometimes their prices reflect that, other times you can make out like a bandit. Picked up a $350 pair of Sony headphones here for $5; not bad at all. They seem to be getting less electronics in, but still tend to have the best of what they get. They put out merchandise throughout the day, so no one "best" time to visit. And being Port Townsend, you get a fair share of interesting people come through. One time in order to look through the glassware I had to help a lady sort the plates according to her standards. read more

I have been to many goodwill stores and this one is alright. I have found it to be clean and someone always working on reorganizing the clothes. The seasonal stuff you can find are a big hit for me. I see new stuff once a week and I frequent the goodwill to get that find I need from big box store but for less at the goodwill. I would say to try goodwill first than go pay full price if you can't find it here. You save and you are doing goodwill. Goodwill supports those in need of life skills and those in need. read more

I really have a love hate relationship with this place. They tend to have very poor quality furniture that has rips, stains, is faded, or smells bad, and then have the nerve to try and charge a lot of money for it. There are always children unattended in the toy isle, with toys and all manner of who knows what on the floor with them, and if they break something I have seen parents just put it back on the shelves and walk away like its no big deal. Then when you say something the the management or staff, or even try to make suggestions the manager belittles you and basically calls you stupid in front of everyone. I have been to other GW's in the area and their quality is far above the port townsend gw. Back in 2009 when I worked there, the quality was so much more superior to what it has become today. It should be a crime to pawn off lower end/damaged items to the community. And they now charge you for a shopping bag because plastic bags have been banned in port townsend so you now have to buy a bag, which I think is a cheap and underhanded thing to do. When you shop at a store, it is the store's responsibility to provide you with those as a courtesy and to encourage repeat customers. Also the staff have a lackluster "inconvenience" to them at times when and if you need help. Meaning they will see you, and not come to assist you if you call one over, or if you try and bring something to them for help, they act as if you have personally ruined their entire day. Most times the store merchandise is just over priced junk. When I worked there, and was leaving the job, the management said "if its something that is worth a dollar mark it for $3." And then there is the whole back of the store issues and drama. If an item is "to good" to be placed on the floor, they will then put it on ebay or their shopgoodwill.com store and try to get even more for the item. You will never find computers out on the floor and when you do its a rare occasion, as they sell and ship them overseas to be refurbished. Their official stance on it is "we send them to a recycling plant in Bellingham" but this is what we were told to tell the local media and anyone else who asked, but they sell them to overseas buyers. No part of the computer is recycled or what have you here in the US. The same goes with Levi Jeans there are certain styles that get packed into a special crate and shipped to China and Japan because they will pay up to $500 USD for a pair, and any military uniforms that come in get shipped off too. But if you dont know about the inner politics then its a "good" store...but they need an overhaul of the entire store and the prices need to be reconfigured to reflect the economy of the community. read more
