I find the best vintage clothes at a very reasonable price. Today's garments are made so cheap and are so shoddy, but buying vintage you really get a bargain. I find designer jeans that fit perfectly. I also buy my vintage Xmas ornaments at Serenity and occasionally just shopping around I find that perfect vase, or frame, something unique. Even after the reviews mentioning terrible customer service, I was surprised at the intentionally, unnecessarily nasty response I received when I asked a basic question about the pricing of two identical glasses--one marked 50% higher than the other. Pricing generally seems to be all over the place--you may find whatever you're looking for and it might be a bargain, but it's just as likely to be inexplicably grossly overpriced. Large handwritten signs at the entrance let you know there are no customer restrooms nor dressing rooms. read more

I've been shopping at Serenity's for years, but their new policies are baffling. They won't let you try on clothes, and they have a strict no-return policy--no exchanges, no store credit, nothing. So if the clothes don't fit, you're completely out of luck. What's worse, they used to have changing rooms (despite the sales associate swearing they didn't--I guess gaslighting is free with purchase). I distinctly remember them being up front to the left. There's an entire new staff the previous staff no longer works there sadly. How they expect people to buy clothes they can't try on and can't return is beyond me. I suppose it is one way to have force customers into donating. I confirmed they will gladly accept items as donations that were just purchased. It's like going to a restaurant eating food but you're not allowed to wash your hands it doesn't make any sense. They've gone from a five-star favorite to a three-star disappointment in my book. I was passing through Sequim on my way to Port Angeles and decided I had the time to check out Serenity. It's exactly the type of shop a thrifter should visit! The place is well organized, clean, and despite what some reviews have said on here, the employees were super. I accidentally knocked a plate off a shelf and it broke so I picked it up, intending to pay for it. When I mentioned this to the very nice woman who was helping another customer, she took the broken pieces out of my hands, waved me off, and said "I appreciate you offering to pay but that's not necessary." I was so surprised...and very grateful. I ended up buying some sweet earrings and a beautiful hand made bowl. They also have an antique store in the back parking lot which is also very well organized. I could have stayed there eyeballing objects for hours. So if you're into thrifting, check this place out - it won't disappoint! read more

I've been here many times and had a great experience, but today was very different. The cashier in the main store was unfriendly and curt, bathrooms are no longer available to customers. We drive over an hour from Lilliwaup to shop in Sequim, it was our first stop today and left a bad impression on us. read more

This thrift shop is a must for all the northern peninsula. Be sure to stop at all three of the shops on this plaza. The main shop(clothes, shoes, housewares, etc) the furniture shop and the hardware shop (think rummaging around someone's well stocked garage tool shop). This thrift store has the RUDEST employees ever. They have a really bad attitude towards customers in general. There are lilac bushes in the back of the building which grow unattended and uncared for like weeds. A customer went to clip some, which brought out the employees who yelled and screamed at her for doing so. They practically chased her off the property. They'd rather let the lilacs decompose than let someone enjoy them. Stay away from this place! read more

without warning of any kind my partner and i were approached by 3 large males who aggressively demanded "we dont approve of your shopping style we are going to have yo ask you to leave" i was mortified as i finally found an arm brace that didnt cause my fractured elbow in 3 places agonizing pain. if i could give them zero stars i would. now i cant breath they humiliated us in front of everyone right before we were avout to check in out. horrible experience, i have severe anxiety so i usually only get to catch the last 30 minutes or so before they close and today my partner and i got there around 11am trying to get a few things we needed. read more

I've never had anyone be remotely friendly to me while shopping here, which is unfortunate because it's super easy to just go across the street and support the Goodwill corporation. When one tries to support local, the locals should be friendly. Also, a simple thank you for donations would be excellent...rather than acting as if you are going out of your way to accept donations to your store that seems to be in dire need of them. read more

Looking for a great second hand store in Sequim?? Well don't come here. I'd love nothing more than to support a small, locally owned establishment such as this, but the prices are ridiculously high (could buy new clothes from a quality brand for a A lower price). Don't be fooled by the name either, there is nothing remotely close to any serenity. The owners are beyond pretentious, and experience was not comfortable, at least until my wife arrived for whatever reason. Born and raised here in sequim, and this is store is nothing new.
