Sigh! Well I was amped for this new Goodwill since now we will have 3 in Lacey. This one is an outlet format where there a bins lined up with all sorts of items many of which are damaged or broken as well as others in good shape tossed in the bins. If you are looking for something specific I would advise going to a regular GW as you can walk directly to the section you need as opposed to literally rummaging through several large bins with no organization to find a needle in a haystack. It wasn't a the lack of organization that threw me off. I can rummage like the best of them. It was the sheer capacity of items in each bin. If you have a few hours to go through the bins with patience, have at it. I couldn't help feeling like I'd never get done. I found a lot of items missing large portions of their overall parts or just general trash inside the bins. I also found very sharp and dangerous items in the bins. So, take your time and move your hand slowly into the bins because even the soft clothing bins have heavy items like drills and bowling balls in them or saws and silverware. I'll be back when I have more patience because the prices are decent if you're getting a lot. If you're getting one or two items it may not be to your benefit.

Bin heaven!

I absolutely LOVE Goodwill outlet bins. I've been to one in California and since moving out to Lacey, have religiously come here before going to any other thrift store. The deals here are INSANE. If you can't deal with crowds, digging or aggressive people, this is not the place for you. There's plenty of parking up front and I suggest grabbing a cart either from outside or inside AS soon as Its empty (It's that crazy here). Bring gloves if you don't want to touch things with your bare hands. Nothing is organized, so with that said, be prepared to dig to find the treasures! Books here were 49 cents a piece (which in some ways is good especially for heavy cookbooks which I hunt for everytime I go thrifting). Frames were 25 cents a piece and all the clothes are charged by weight (per pound). Digging through bins is therapeutic for me in a weird way, the treasures are endless and you save hella money here! (Just need to go through bins of junk). I've gotten brand new or close to new condition named brand clothes here for 90% off its original price in stores. As for other bargain hunters, it gets aggressive but I had 0 issues here. LOVE this place and all of the goodies I have brought home!

Lots of digging involved

Great Vintage With Incredible Retro-Style!…read more SITREP We were looking for pizza and instead initially wandered into this store only to find some awesome retro-dresses! THE SETUP My galpal Jenner & I were on the way back to Central Washington (after she picked me up at SEATAC), and on our way through Olympia, we got struck with massive hunger cravings for Pizza. As we headed to La Gitana, HOT TODDY crossed out path (or rather, we crossed IT'S path) and we had to wander inside of it once we were *blinded by the light* of all it's colors inside! STYLES & DESIGNS! We were inside a virtual smorgasbord of crazy fabrics & designs! I played guard to the dressing room while Jenner tried on some awesome dresses. I also foraged around for some smaller, more palatable items for a guy to wear and found some pretty cool jackets and socks. THE LOWDOWN After grabbing a couple of dresses, we were ready to go and find our pizza stop (which we did since it was almost next door). Missions Accomplished!

Today I walked in, a white Oly couple a few steps ahead of me. The clerk completely ignored them, but as soon as she saw me she RUSHED out from behind the counter in a panic as if to block my entry, saying "CAN I HELP YOU" in a stressed tone. She only relaxed when she saw my shopping bag from Radiance. I can't think of what would cause such a reaction, except that I am visibly brown. I'd hate to think that someone at such a sweet staple of downtown was racially profiling me. All in all it left a sour taste in my mouth. In over 10 years, I've never been treated this way here.

The Eagles #21 has history dating 100 years- through the beginning of the club's early founding, it's heyday in the 40's and 50's, and through it's slight decline in the 80's and 90's. Since then it has gone through numerous improvements to make it one of the best spots for entertainment and leisure. Decades of live events throughout the 4-level building have brought many different people together from all over the Oly area, and the world. Upstairs is the huge Eagles Grand Ballroom that is used for weekly dances and planned events such as weddings, proms, and recitals. There are performance art classes also available for anyone wanting to learn a type of dance, or drum. In the bottom level of the building is the E-mart. The Eagles houses a thrift store full to the brim of second-hand goods. From designer labeled clothing, to electronics, old VHS and DVDs, furniture, and from dishes and housewares to books and toys. Of course, the ground level is the member's lounge. Boasting the only bar in downtown Olympia to have the NFL ticket, the clubhouse can get any NFL game on it's six flat-screen TVs and projector. The Eagles is also home to the official Brown's Backers football club who meet for every Cleveland Brown game. And the best spot to watch all your Sounders, Mariners, and Seahawks games. Not a football fan? All throughout the week there are daily drink specials (cheapest in town), live music, karaoke, free pool and foosball, pull tabs, a stage and a dance floor and a jukebox, video games, potlucks, and great people enjoying the company at the bar. It is a member's only club, however. Joining is simple. There are yearly dues to being a member, and of course abiding by club rules and aerie bylaws. But they are always accepting more members to join and be a part of a great community of fundraisers who love to party!
