We all hope to receive decent customer service, but when you get over-the-top customer service, it needs to be shared! Long story short - a bag of shirts I'd been collecting for 7 years accidentally made its way to a drop-off location. These were very sentimental and were going to be made into a quilt for a graduation gift. The manager, Shae (sp?), and the young gentlemen at the drop-off location went above and beyond to help me locate my bag amongst all their other donated items and already packed containers. $35 for a pair of boots or $13 for some target Sandals. Shop new and save some money. They are now marking everything in the store with the price they sold it for, actually a dollar less. So not only do you get the embarrassment of shopping second hand, anyone who sees your clothes will know how much you bought it for. The store was unorganized, and dirty smelling. Dressing rooms are still closed and I can't see them ever reopening (more money for them that way) The worst part of the whole experience going here a number of times are the employees. Hate your job? Find another. And yes in these times in tri cities wa it's that easy. The older women with the shorter grey hair was just like wow. When I arrived an hour before closing, the staff was announcing they were closing in one hour. They did this announcement several times while I was there and I did not feel welcome, but rather rushed. The isles were messy where I had to move several hangers off the floor to get through with the cart. The furniture isles especially are too tight for customers to walk through from both directions. I have donated to this establishment many times over the years and I do like to look for specific things I may need. However the prices on things are getting to be way to expensive for used donated items. A pair of rubber boots were $49.99! Other items were also too much. The time I came in before this time, there was a Target brand item with an original price tag on it and Goodwill posted the price at about $10 more! I have also seen some items that have a store tag without an original price, but then again Goodwill puts a much higher price because it looked newer. The last time I also found a big mirror with a wood frame but it had a piece broken off and I asked the manager if they could discount it any more as I thought I could use some wood filler to repair it. The manager said "no, we price them how they should be". Yet, the damage was laying on the floor! I did not buy it in the damaged condition. Today I left without making a purchase. read more

People donate there used stuff to Goodwill it's used it should be put at original price on resale. the price goodwill is charging for used stuff is outrageous and disgusting.! People go to Goodwill because they cannot afford original prices. I know now not to ever donate to this store or support it in anyway. You guys are robbing people blind at prices like that. My son bought me a 50.00 gift card for Christmas. When I tried to use it I was told there was no money on it. The cashier said that a lot of the cards say zero balance and it is an issue. I ask for the manager to find out what the problem is. She told me that I needed the original receipt or there was nothing she could do. I ask her to use the numbers on the back of the card and tell me when it was used. She refused, starting if I didn't have the receipt she could not help me because maybe I already used it. I say the Goodwill gift cards are either a scam or the cashier that sold it to my son didn't put the money on it and maybe put it in her pocket? If she is going to suggest I am not honest I will put it back on her. DON'T buy the gift cards. read more

I have shopped at that Goodwill several times, and it the staff and the store itself always impress me. I have dropped off many items in the last two days and the folks who met me and unloaded my items were always friendly and skilled. I just read two very negative reviews and those individuals probably would find fault with any business. Buyers should always ask for a receipt, and be a smart shopper. If I could give the store zero stars I would. I went in there and got followed by a worker. Then whenever I went to the cash register the bitch didn't give me all of my clothes. She also didn't give me my receipt so there is no proof that I even bought stuff. then when I called the store I got attitude from two workers. I also got hung up on. How rude is that. This was the first time in this store but it appeared to reflect what we've seen in other Goodwill stores that were "satisfactory". It's a chain thrift store so don't expect any changes from the cookie cutter design. It's Halloween season so many isles devoted to brand new China plastic crap costumes and junk, a couple isles of used costumes and props too, all priced only slightly less than the new junk. It's sad when chains like this promotes so much new crap when there is more-than-enough used stuff to place on the shelves. Disappointing. It's a chain problem though and my rating here doesn't not reflect the chain's problem. This store was "okay". The prices seemed a little high but again, a chain problem and the prices seem across the board with what you will find at Goodwill. I purchased a set of headphones for my daughter for $4.99 ($5+tax), they appeared in good condition but only checked the ear padding and cord ends. Turns out one of the buttons on the side was broken and upon testing, they did not work. I was able to make an adjustment to get them to function "somewhat" though so not all was lost. This should have been caught by whoever priced the item and a correct price could have been $1.99 or $.99 to reflect the broken button without testing them. I imagine another consumer would have simply thrown them away or returned them to the store for a refund. Shopping at thrift stores, I'm used to this kind of experience though and you have to roll with it. This Goodwill appears clean and organized, the people we spoke with were friendly.
