The most name brand Fanny family-friendly junk Store in Chattanooga! my wife draggedme along out here on a weekend where they had a 50% off sale going on. Holy Christ, is this place nuts today! I did a quick circle of the electronic selection, hoping to find a diamond in the rough. Sometimes,you will luck out and find some very rare video games that Goodwill has no idea how to price and get them for a really good bargain. Alas, today was not that day. Very disappointed in the new manager missy was top notch on her job always worked hard always honest an went 90 to nothing to do her job the new manager has hacked the prices way too high the usual in there as myself every day are not in there as much one of there biggest buyers looked at me the other day said I dont like this goodwill anymore whoever let missy go made a poor choice an should be ashamed they hurt someone who put there all into there job I've seen through the years how poorly goodwill treats their employees shame on you however one day when you are casting good folks out you will be cast out yourself hope God finds you I pray that God will show light again on what goodwill stands for an treat there employees better some of these hard workers been there 20 yrs still making 9.50 a hour shame on you goodwill wont be coming there anymore read more

The store was being shopped by auction owners. The Mangers knew that. I asked about several items that had just been unloaded and were already sold. I offered to buy a piece of furniture and the Auction owner doubled the price. Where's the goodwill ? read more

If you beed help unloading your truck. Good luck.. I made 5 trips on and the 2 guys just smiled and offered no help. Also the short guy threw the bags pf breakables into a large bin. Breaking glass was pretty loud. Next time i will save them the trouble and just throw everything away. read more

Good Morning, Since this is the time of year when real charities are helping many I thought you might consider this news worthy also especially here in the Chattanooga area as Good Will has 14 stores that are ran by Chattanooga Good Will. They state they help the community but they really do not they hide behind the name for the following reasons: 1. All donations that are received at store locations do not go out on the floor, as a Good Will employee we are made to put all jewelry in a bin to be sent to Dodds avenue to make sure its not expensive, because if it is they put it on Shop Good Will for much higher than what we price in the store. This is not only jewelry good dishes, fine china, quality pictures etc, the cases at Hixson sat empty for over a month waiting on jewelry being sent back to us. 2. They also are now carrying new goods that are not new. They are returns from Walmart and but are advertised as new goods. We were told at one time we could not tell customers they were new but refurbished they are not even being inspected there was a waffle maker that was totally disgusting on the floor found by a customer grease all over it, other ones are coming back because they do not work, pitchers with water in them as they are getting ready to open a whole store with these goods in East Ridge on January 2nd. This needs to be investigated as they are taking advantage of customers and employees are being told we cannot say anything or fear job loss. 3. They also are making production numbers so high that long time elderly employees are not able to make these numbers and are being forced out the door as well as people with disabilities and sexual orientation. 4. The hixson Good Will which is now ran by Lisa is throwing customers out the door right at closing and will not allow them to ring up one minute past closing her and a key carrier named Evelyn is very rude and snaps at customers and employees and she was overheard by other customers being rude to the customer and down right hateful when they ask her a question and she was overheard telling an employee she has the right to snap if she is asked the same question more than once and employees should not be stupid or slow and she does not like minorities or people that are gay and have disabilities. She got on a cashier and said when I tell you to do something you do not question it which that employee did not. She also threw a customer out as she was checking her receipt because we were closed told her she could do that in the parking lot. they are telling customers the registers automaticlly close which is a lie they are forcing cashiers to close even with customers in line and the store manager says she backs her managers not employees and customers will come back anyways. Cashiers are being reprimanded for sticking up for the customer including termination 5. Lisa also has said that employees should be glad to have a job and a pay check no matter what. They also have started using temporary services which means they are paying more and have not given employees a raise in about three years a raise freeze but management keeps getting raises and bonuses. 6. Good Will also does not allow customers or the employee to test electronic items in the store any longer they will allow a return with a receipt 48 hours but that is costing customers time and gas and there are outlets all over the store, employees have been told if you test you can be written up. 7. The Corporate management also has sent a memo to all stores stating that employees are not allowed to talk or address them when they are in the stores if they do they can be written up and terminated they only talk to the store manager. These are the biggest things going on with Good Will in Chattanoogta if you need more info please feel free to contact me we need to get Good Will to answer these concerns as when employees bring them up nothing changes or with customer complaints. I am hoping that the media will get involved as there are great organizations out there that deserve the donations and our help but Good Will is not one of them they are out to make the all mighty dollar. Big store lots of good items. Prices are fair. Founds some bargains last couple of weeks. The guy's in the donation section are supper friendly and helpful. The workers in the store are great as well. Only down fall is they have a limit on credit card and debit card purchases, sometime you just don't find enough to add up to their limit. And no I don't want to buy something I don't want or need to come up to the limit. So I walk out without what I need and GW does not get a sell, that seems like you are leaving a lot money on the table, even with the small fee the credit card companies charge. read more
