I've been increasingly dissatisfied with the pricing on the the clothing at goodwill, just seems a little pricey for donations and when compared to other thrift stores they are the most expensive. Seems the company is losing site of why they are in business to begin with. I went to look for a Halloween costume there was a price tag on the dress for 7.98. When we went to checkout it rang up at $14! There were 2 tags on the garment one was the original price the second was the goodwill tag which was almost double the cost of what the cost of the original! Once we figured out what happened they did reduce the price to 5.99, but this does confirm for me the poor business practice this company has begun to adopt. I will never waste my time digging through their racks again. There are too many better more reasonable places to shop for thrift!!! read more

A decent apparel and home goods selection, clean fitting rooms, and somewhat more organized than other Goodwills. I've always found at least 3 items whenever I stop by. However, it does seem slightly smaller than most Goodwills with less inventory, but that just means that it's easier to find what I want. I don't go to Goodwill often unless I'm dropping off a donation, but we do occasionally pop into one to look at their options. We like to look out for unique housewares and décor items mostly and Goodwill's usually aren't as good for that as other thrift stores. In any case, I've been to a handful of locations in the past and can say this one is definitely cleaner and more organized than other locations. I can't comment on pricing for clothing, but I've always been impressed with how cheap their items are in regards to housewares, books, toys and décor. I can only say we found a gem here on one occasion, a really cool vintage barometer with a wooden base. However, that's not saying much as these places will always have rotating inventory. I am guaranteed, however, to find at least one book I want. They have a much better, much more organized library section than any other location I've been to. I can't find paper backs for $0.69 or hard covers for $2 anywhere else. At the rate I read and donate books, I rarely want to spend a lot on them, so this is definitely a reason for me to return. I have only been here a few times and haven't ever seen the same employee twice. However, the employees I've dealt with have all been appropriately professional. No complaints there. This location also has a very convenient and wide drive up donation section on the side. This is a lot easier to maneuver than at the University location which was the draw for me to come here in the first place. If you like to bargain hunt or need a spot to drop off donations, this place is worth the occasional visit. read more

This place is hit or miss. The staff are probably some of the most unfriendly I have encountered at any thrift store. They are all over the place and don't seem to be trained very well for the most part. With that being said. I love their shoe selection. We needed to get dress shoes for an event and found numerous pair in almost mint conditon. I will continue to go back here but it's not my favorite by any means. read more

The staff at the Goodwill off Loop 288 in Denton, TX when you drop off items are rude. Within these last 2 months, I've dropped off items 4 times and each time the employees are sitting talking about personnel items which you can clearly hear them. First time I asked for a receipt, they sighed as if I bothered them, second time I dropped off items, I had already placed items in their bin when they then came over and said for me to separate clothes in one bin, household in the other when I was already 80% unloaded...last time I went, which you can see from my review, I give alternate chances, the employee yelled at me about my household items that they do not accept after I unloaded them and he initially watched. I'm done with this place...many more places in Denton to donate too, I'm going to skip over this one. NO MORE will I be taking my goodwill items to this location. They keep rearranging the store with new staff every few months. This last week I encountered new rude employees and they priced up everything, it's ridiculous. How are you going to pay $6.99 for a used blouse and when the majority of clothing brands are from stores like Walmart? read more

The store is clean and well arranged and organized. However their selection is very small. I wonder if they have to be selective about what they take in because the store is so small. I went in looking for toys. The selection is meager. At first glance I thought there weren't any toys and then I finally found a small corner where there were a few things (mostly stuffed animals) scattered on shelves. I did end up finding a gem amongst the rubble though: a tiny, motorized vacuum cleaner. Yay! read more

I had such high hopes for this little Goodwill store when it first opened in spring of 2012. It's nearest my home from all the others so I have made frequent stops and a lot of purchases. It is somewhat smaller than most thrift stores and this gave it a friendly, neighborhood appeal. But something changed a few weeks ago because unlike their sister store in Lewisville where the staff is always polite and helpful, the ones at the store here in Denton are largely argumentative and condescending. The employee turnover rate does seem rather high as of lately, which leads me to believe the owner may simply have an on-site management problem. At any rate, I now make the extra drive to Lewisville and have all but written this local store off as a waste of time. read more
