There are bargains to be had at the Goodwill on Coulee. I wouldn't say bargain basement, but if you dig, you can find a hidden treasure or two. There are racks and racks and even more racks of clothes. Everything from Halloween costumes to suits worthy of being buried in (I guess those two are related). The deals are scary good. I was rummaging around and found numerous items that had to leave the store with me. Did I need them? No, not really, but I wasn't going to let those beauties be found by someone else. I did the digging, so I'll reap the reward. Even if the reward is just a laugh or two. Case in point. I found an absurdly colored stuffed animal. Molly dog loves stuffed animals. She loves to gut the things. She'll work on it until she's laying in their stuffing bowels. It's hilarious to watch as she delicately coaxes out the insides by violently shaking the victim until the fluff flies. Then she'll roll in it and settle down for a nap in it's remnants. A conquering dream in her slumber, while the animal carcass is secreted away during her sleep. All that fun for like two bucks! If that's not enough to make you want to jump in your car and pay a visit, how about this. One of the prizes that I was eyeing was a camp lantern. I passed by to check the price on another item, and when I turned back another guy had picked it up to examine. It was a gem for sure. I patiently stood by waiting for him to put it down. In my mind I was thinking "he really doesn't want this, he doesn't look like he goes camping." All the while my adversary was probably thinking "I don't want this but I'm sure not going to let this guy looking over my shoulder get his hands on it!" as he placed it in his basket. Oh well, he found his treasure. All's fair in love and war, and especially in treasure hunting. I mean, it's not like it was something from the Spanish galleon Atocha. Hmmmm I wonder if that guy was Mel Fishers son. Quick Tip: Though the Goodwill store is on Coulee road, you won't have to cross a ravine to get there. Just a long parking lot that it shares with Target. Beause of course you went to Target first. Everybody goes to Target first. read more

Rude Rude staff. I was in store for 2 hours today as were 2 furniture items in my cart. Carts are only so big and I had a lot of other items in there with plenty room yet. Lady announced over intercom to bring my items to counter. she then came to me as apparently I was not fast enough and said someone else had part of tag and I could not purchase. they were in my cart with my other items, they were not large as I had many other items. Remind you 2 hours pushing around. I could not believe it. She literally dragged them from my cart with no real explanation. The other shopper was just checking out. I was pushing them around store for 2 hours. Nope did not have bottom half of tag so I can't buy. Seriously. Are you kidding me. It seemed really really fishy. I should have refused but do not like confrontation. As I am in retail as well, I have never seen this before. They were not even purchased yet and I doubt I will go back. I will not donate here either. Yes I will be reaching out to cooperate. So if part of a tag is missing you can't buy??? I have never had items pulled from my cart. read more

Is it me or are more and more Goodwills turning into Target light? Maybe considering they seem to receive a lot of Targets product and donations. I think J knows where just about every thrift store is in the metro area and since I'm usually with, I end up going in. This location is well organized, clean and prices are reasonable. I like to go to look for books and movies. Anyone remember Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles? Well I do.. I found two other movies on VHS with him in so I had to get them. And for only .49 cents, couldn't go wrong. The little gal checkin us out was so chipper and genuinely friendly. I've been to Goodwills across the country so I feel qualified enough to give a solid 4 star rating. The good: -Prices are closer to garage sales than Nordstrom clearance rack on clothing. -For the most part well organized -The Furniture selection is ever changing and priced to sell. $20 bucks for a couch that needs a little reupholstering? Yes please! -Good variety of brands of clothing -Ample amount of parking. The Bad: -Each time I've been there, there has been a shortage of employees--the fitting room rack was filled to the max and there were unexpectedly long lines to check out. -I'm 97% sure you could get the old Target clearance merchandise cheaper at the clearance sections in Target. $15.00 for an ugly shower curtain because it came from Target? Puh-lease. The Ugly: -Sizes are NOT sorted. I hate sifting through hundreds of pants to see the exact style I want and notice it's the wrong size. I tried to exchange a flannel amongst other clothes that didnt fit me because this place doesnt even have a dressing room(got rid of it). I took the tag off of the flannel but kept it because its just a flannel, it's gonna fit right? Wrong, but oh well, no big deal. I go to exchange them all because goodwill doesnt allow returns which, if you dont even have a fitting room, is damn ridiculous in the first place. They couldn't exchange the flannel because the tag was off. So what? Its an article of clothing yall can still make money off of. Just retag it...I promise you arent losing any of your precious money. They had the balls to ask if i wanted to donate it back to them. Are you fvckin kidding me? I dropped off items today. A younger man, Andre was very rude. He tossed clothing donations into a large bin without care. He unloaded some boxes from my car and when I told him what was in the box, he rolled his eyes and said under his breath, "whatever". It appeared he was training another employee. He was very condescending to him and belittled him in front of me and other customers. I would suggest management pull him aside and teach him both customer service skills and how to work with others. read more

The decision makers at this location must be smoking some crack! It is goodwill not a shop on Rodeo drive. Why in the world would you pay more for somebody's used merchandise than straight off the shelf at the store. I saw a yankee candle last week marked 14.99. Seriously?! Dishes and cups should be under 1.00 but they have the audacity to mark much of it at 2.99. Last week I tried to make a donation of a Pier 1 800 love seat that is clean and only about 6 years old they refused it because my cat decided to scratch the top side of it on both sides. Yes it needs a cover or to be reupholstered. I went inside and threw up in my mouth a little at the worn out 30 year old upholstered pieces they did accept. I am sure swarming with bodily fluid stains and bedbugs. But somehow they made it past the gatekeeper! I am pretty much over stepping foot in this location--they really pissed me off this past week. read more

Overpriced. Rude staff Lady regularly at the front register. She was the same lady that when I was purchasing the dresses for my daughter who was not with me, I asked what their return and exchange policy was, she said I had to have receipt and will get store credit. I said that was fine and purchased the dresses. she never told me the time frame, I explained this to her after I brought one of the dresses back that did not fit. And she was the same person at the front. She got mad and told me well she didn't know I couldn't read and she doesn't have time to read all the little's fine print to every customer. She said this to me very snarky in front of other customers. We have been donating are used items there since we moved to the area. But many times we come in with something only to be turned away. Some, like certain baby items, are understandable, but others,like a tricycle seems ridiculous. They would not take it because they said they had way too many bikes. When I was relaying the story to a friend of mine at lunch the same day, she told me she heard through the grapevine that they are making a ton of money off that store. And the Goodwillness of it is a total crock. This could be just gossip, but considering the prices and the scrutiny of the items you donate. It would not surprise me. If you have too many bikes , why not just open it up as a free about giveaway. Or put some on freecycle? If they keep biting the hands that feed them, we will all start going elsewhere for certain. Do not shop here the employees are rude and disrespectful. I went to go check out and the guy said I put new tags on all the items I was trying to purchase. I asked how can I do this all the tags were still on the shirts. Then he ripped all the tags off and told the girl to go put new tags on them. The tags were 2x more expensive then the tags that were on them. I couldn't believe it. Then when I started to ask him wtf he was doing he said he was going to call the cops on me.
