I bought over $100 worth of merchandise on 5/31/26. I then proceeded to break my right ankle and was unable to get back to the store until 5/8/26. One day over the return policy. The store manager, Jenn, who has no business being in retail let alone a manager, was beyond rude and denied the return. When I called the complaint number on the receipt I got Ericka who couldn't have cared less. There are no extenuating circumstances. Mind you, we are talking an EXCHANGE for about $15 on a $100 tab. Plus the thousands I have spent and donated over the decades. NEVER again will Goodwill get one penny from me in sales or donations. Great job. I hope that $15 was worth it to you. read more

If I could give this store 0 out of 5 stars, I would. Because that is what they deserve. This was the worst shopping experience I have ever had at this location. Customer service was rude and unreasonable, and managers enforced policies that were not stated on receipts or clearly communicated at the time of purchase. Once management became aware of the issue, they continued business as usual instead of attempting to resolve the matter promptly and amicably. The managers demonstrated a lack of problem-solving skills and displayed a callous, non-responsive attitude. Pricing on merchandise appears inflated, and some clothing items were dirty, as if they had been dragged on or left on the floor. It is clear that staff are not properly trained on current store policies, which leads to unnecessary confusion and frustration for customers. A manager even stated that unless information comes directly from a manager, any information provided by staff is considered invalid -- which reflects serious internal communication issues. This was absolutely the most disappointing experience I have had at this location. I will be contacting corporate, as the manager was reluctant to readily provide corporate contact information and did not provide the name of the other manager involved when asked. read more

Came here for a collectibles dive. This is a spacious Goodwill. Inside is clean and items are well organized. It does not have the typical shrift shop moldy smell, which is great. Staff are friendly and actively putting things back on the shelves. They have large selections of books, clothing, toys and kitchenware. Good price on most of the items & i was able to found a vintage china tea cup which was great value. Highly recommended! read more

ZERO STARS! Staff has gotten very rude here! Last week I was yelled at for shopping off the rolling racks sitting on the floor. I had no idea this wasn't allowed since it was on the sales floor. Today I went back and heard a staff member yell from across the store at a customer about the same thing & then said to a coworker 'I'm not surprised'. I was trying on a winter jacket by a mirror & I was told I'm not allowed to try clothes on, funny how I can try a jacket on at Walmart or Costco without being chastised. She said it was store policy & they have a return policy. The return policy is store credit. I worked many years of retail & I never would have thought of speaking to someone in such a tone that was rude & condensending. Goodbye Goodwill! read more

Clothes are organized by color, size, gender. I was impressed with how neat everything appeared and it smelled clean in the store. The only thing that was a bit of a thorn is that the shoes are not organized by size. So, I found really cute shoes but most were too small. I did walk away with a pair of shoes and a dress. I don't usually shop at goodwill with exception of a Halloween costume. However, the organization of the store made shopping easy. read more

Yesterday was the first time I had been in the Eldersburg new location it was very clean and well organized I found a lot of good Christmas items for crafting which was exactly why I went in. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I purchased a heavy item and I asked for help taking it to my car and they said to just pull it around back and they would load it up. My only issue is that prices are getting higher at all Goodwills, so I gave 5 stars because prices are set at a higher level of management, not by the store itself. read more

Probably one of my favorite goodwills I go to. The prices can sometimes be a little high but if you were to get something that you want on the color tag definitely worth it. I've found so many great items. Even better since it's 10 minutes away from where I live. Also seems like they get so much donations. they have shopping carts full of stuff come out normally at round 10am-noon everyday. read more

A relatively small, decent, and clean Goodwill store. Clean washrooms too. However, what is really annoying in this store --just like in all its Monocacy Valley sister stores-- is that they generally place their price stickers on top of the country of origin or brand name of items. One has to try to partially remove them stickers to find out the information. This negatively reflects on the customers since they look like they are trying to switch price labels. Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley should make sure their price labels do not hide the information of the items they sell. Items go on sale a 50% off depending on the color of the price sticker, starting every Tuesday. The color order es Red, Purple, Green, and Yellow. A good way to remember this is the phrase "Real People Grow Younger!" read more

Six months ago, when I stopped by the Eldersburg Goodwill, they had permanently closed all their changing rooms so you can't try anything on. Also, their bathroom toilets & floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months, so it's a germ factory, especially if you have any kids with you. A few months ago a sign appeared that they were relocating the Eldersburg store to a vacated grocery store at the shopping center on the other side of liberty road. This store needs a lot of help since they re-organized the existing store about 2 years ago. Only god knows why they started skimming off the better items that they usually had (to their internet store) & raised prices on mostly junky stuff left on the store shelves. All of their display cases are now blacked out, and it appears their donations have decreased as a result. read more

If you are looking for low prices this is NOT the place to go. $6 for shirts and full price for most clothing items! They only have 1 deal which is 50% off of all red tag items... red tag items are usually not that valuable. Most likely my first and last time going there. The place smelled pretty good though & the store was kept in order. I saw $20 for a used Victoria secret jacket btw... :( read more

This was in the ELDERSBURG Location. Me and my family were shopping at the Goodwill yesterday for about 35 minutes. We went to check out and there was a lady by the name of WENDY that yelled at me and my fiance. Told us we could not be checked out unless we were wearing a mask. I told her to just give me one and calm down and stop yelling, I had my 7 year old daughter with me. I told her I was going to call corporate and she started to yell that she was calling the police because we weren't wearing a mask. I just wanted to get my stuff and go. She traumatized my daughter because she kept yelling she was going to call the police on us. After coming back in to talk to them and buy my stuff after getting my fiance and daughter settled in the car she proceeded to tell me she called her manager and he said masks are not mandatory in eldersburg goodwill and did NOT say sorry for embarrassing me and my family or yelling. Will be telling my all friends and community of Carroll County. read more

This used to be a great Goodwill store. It is associated with the one in Westminster. Goodwill has SOLD its stores to people/businesses who are only interested in making a profit. Hence the greatly increased pricing of items. I have not been for a few months - got tired of finding items priced higher than what I could purchase them new in retail stores. They used to do a great community service by having a small room of used medical equipment (walkers, crutches, shower chairs, etc) which they would give free to people in need - NO LONGER. Now, such items are sold. I have talked to employees in both stores (Westminster & Eldersburg) and none are happy. They say the new owners are only interested in making a profit. Yes the stores should make a profit, but the money should go back into the community helping people work and not to line someone's pocket. read more

When I go to Goodwill I say I am Goodwill Hunting. I never know what I might find there. That is what makes it fun to shop there. The appearance of the Eldersburg store has improved upon my suggestion. Furniture and housewares are the main attraction, as it should be, located in one area instead of spread out all over the store as it was in the past. Big improvement. It is now an orderly store. Customers need that for it to be a pleasant shopping experience. Toys are a big seller. I would like to see a better display for those items. When things are just thrown on shelves, it is not appealing to the customer. Eldersburg is an area where the upper middle class live. The store needs to reflect that. But bravo for the improvements already made! And I am a faithful shopper in a store that exists for a good cause. read more

I am extremely disgusted with the Goodwill in Eldersburg. As others have said, their prices have inflated just in the past year or so. Today I checked their website and saw that they were supposed to open at 9 AM. I arrived at 9:15 with 18 boxes and some large items crammed into my car. The road to the donation area was blocked off so I parked, got out of my car, and read the store hours on their front door. Lo and behold, those hours stated that they didn't open until 10 AM. Time to update your website, folks! Then my eye caught a second sign which said the the donation center would be closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (7/19-21) "due to excessive heat". What wimps! Even the people who supposedly help you unload your car stay indoors until you ring a bell or they finally notice your car. When they do come outside the entire area is covered by a carport-like structure so they are always in the shade. I wish I could have gotten off outdoor work when the temperatures were in the 90's! As a rule, I ALWAYS get out of my car and help the employees unload whatever I've brought. Not any more! Needless to say, I'm going to call first before I come up again IF I come up again. Meanwhile I still have a car crammed with 18 + boxes of stuff. I hope the air conditioned store stays open during this period for the sake of other shoppers. read more

I love Goodwill shopping but this Goodwill is way overpriced. I was looking for a red vase - E-burg price a whopping $19.99! All the other bases I've purchased from other Goodwills were priced 3 to 4 dollars. And there was nothing special about the vase. Books have also increased in price. I wonder why they don't standardize their pricing or maybe it's up to the store manager? They used to be reasonably priced when they first opened but their prices have increased significantly. I avoid this one and prefer to shop elsewhere. read more
