This partnership was vital, and very much appreciated by all because it helped improve food access throughout our community at wellness fairs and nutrition classes. Thank you for your hard work! The amount of volunteers that showed up today turned a 2 hour event into 30 mins and it was such a refreshing time - especially to do on a day of love . I'm not sure what cloud this man dropped from but his genuine kindness and support/enthusiasm in helping others succeed, whether through means of Goodwill or otherwise, literally brought me to tears our first phone call. I've unfortunately run into people who aren't kind at all in social service programs so it was a pleasant surprise to meet Micah in a time where people aren't always so patient or kind. When I called Micah back a week or so later and just gave my name, it really touched me that he actually remembered everything we talked about our first call and he asked about how it was all going and again let me know that if I needed anything further that I was encouraged to call back. When people are down and just looking for a help to get them along on their career paths, a kind and caring person like Micah can make ALL the difference. I think Goodwill is very blessed to have such a person on their team.

I've volunteered with ACTION several times with my church. I love the interaction I have with the seniors we serve. They are so happy to have these small things fixed around their house; because to them, it means a BIG change in their ability to live independently! I can do their job better than they can. I'm a woman & I'm always having to correct them because every tIme I go they are always trying to put some of my precious metals in my steel pile, because they think that since I'm a girl that I don't know my sh*t. & then when I correct them, they always play dumb like they didn't know what they were doing. But I promise you, they do. They are sneaky & it's a shame to have a great company full of uneducated & un-ambitious boys. The BEST RECYCLING company in Ventura County is called SANTA PAULA RECYCLING! they are incredibly honest & ALL extremely hard workers, I can turn my back on them & trust that they will do right by me EVERY TIME!
