Just know the donation hours start an hour later than store opening. But once the guys are there they are super helpful.

I like Goodwill because I love getting decent quality items for cheap.  I buy books and electronics from here.  My husband is great at fixing computers so he buys the ones that don't work properly to fix up and help those who need a cheap computer. The staff here at the Benton Harbor store is friendly but usually pretty busy so don't expect an enthusiastic greeting. When buying things here keep in mind you are getting something that has been used.  It's not going to be perfect in the least bit.  If you choose to buy clothes you'll be taking a bit of a risk that it's worn and could potentially get rips in important places like the crotch of the pants.  If you chose to buy clothes here regularly I'd recommend having a sewing machine or being proficient in hand sewing. I'd recommend Goodwill to anyone who is prone to not wanting to pay full price for things or has a unique skill in fixing things. read more

This locations prices are INSANE. I would list particular items for examples but that would take me all day so I'll list two of the biggest eye roll, smh moments. A normal non stick USED pot and pan set that normally sells for around $150 NEW was priced at $120!!! A non brand insulated mug that sells at a Home Depot for $24.99 was priced at $19!!!! Even the employees were shocked! They even double checked the price for us because they didn't believe it! The only good at this Goodwill store were the employees. read more

Always am so disappointed when I go here. The prices are Just too high! I have to travel to SB or KZoo for thrifting and can find better prices at their goodwills. Also more incentives with color of the day discounts and a points program. read more

Whoever prices items in this store is pricing them too high. A used beat up candle that was already used without a scent, $1.99. Newer comforters in packages, $75 and $50.00, more than a store. Little knick knacks that are over priced. I go to Goodwill's in my area all the time and love them, but this one is over priced and the merchandise looks outdated and old. read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible! Honest and very true; just left the benton harbor location, i have never in my life been treated so badly, even worse being it was staff!!!! I need to clarify that one woman and one male staff, were both very helpful and pleasant. Also happen to be two newer employees. These two staff that i just mentioned have no part in my statement. I asked an employee about price tag on a sheet set, i absolutely thought the prices i was looking at could not be goodwill price, since i thought this was a " thrift store"... Sheets said $80-$150 for price.. The staff rudely. Pointed at the price and said " it tells you right here" as she rolled her eyes. I didnt say anything, googled a couple of the sheet sets on my phone for pricing, the highest price for identical items were all $30-$55 dollars cheaper online at various stores! I found this to be true a several items in this goodwill location, area rugs, dish sets, blankets, pillows, etc.. I obviously made choice of not buying the items, but did find a few clothing items, shoes and boots.. At checkout, when i finally was helped, only one in line, the staff, right in front of me, peeled the price tag off of the boots, told me they were nice and so the price was now $25 instead of the tag originals price being $10??? I had nearly $150 worth of merchandise in cart not even rung up yet. I was done, i asked her to please just cancel all of it, and that the entire experience was awful and i will not be returning! I will never recommend that location to anyone! Filthy, cluttered, dishes were not even cleaned" very noticably dirty" nothing was in place, clothes were not even close to being near the correct sizes, or sexes, i could go on, but i think ive made my point.. Needs to be shutdown and the staff arrested for price gouging, probably pocketing the difference...i would give 0 stars if i could. read more

This store was a mess. Maybe it was because they were busy and didn't get a chance to straighten up, or maybe it was just that they didn't have enough people working but it was very hard to find anything with it being so messy. One thing I did appreciate was that the books were organized by category. The dvds and tapes were literally all over the place, though. There were some up front and some in the back near the books. I didn't even want to spend the time to look. Most of the games in the case were facing the wrong way, so it was impossible to see what they were! And the ones I could see were just expensive for being so old. If you're going to run a resale shop, taking pride in the way your store looks goes a long way with customers. read more

This store has cleaned up its act - literally! Grass is no longer in the driveway cracks, store lighting is much improved, children's clothes are now all together, pricing on new goods is exceptionally good (i.e. Costco stuff in spades!)... read more

I don't know who's in charge of the pricing at this particular Goodwill, but the prices are way too high. I visit Goodwill stores all over and find some really great deals, but this store is ridiculous. Selling broken and dirty items for way more than they're worth. The furniture is especially expensive. Old broken down down dressers and entertainment stands with missing handles going for $50-$100? No. I saw a small, dirty jewelry box from the 80's-90's for $10. really? I will no longer be shopping at this goodwill or donating to any goodwill anymore, I am at heart a treasure hunter and get a thrill out of a great find but will forgo finding my joy at goodwill, I recently went into the benton harbor store to be turned down at the register to make my purchase, it was not the first time. I found a small coach purse that can be purchased at any given time at the coach outlet for $49- I was excited, it's not every day that I find a coach purse of any kind much less in goodwill, but the cashier would not let me purchase it, she said it was supposed to be in the case but I had no way of getting it out of the case without her help, I do not possess keys to their case, ultimately five employees ended up at the register telling me corporate would have to price it and that is the reason I could not purchase it. I had $30- worth of other items that I did not purchase either because of this, they seemed quite happy that I left the store without making any purchase at all. This is the proverbial "straw that broke the camels back" so many, many unfortunate events have taken place at this particular store but this one was the worst. If myself and my family and anyone reading this would not shop there they would maybe be forced to change their management tactics. read more
