It's a small store but they have a really decent selection - lots of J. Crew, Banana Republic and Gap. I found a Marc by Marc Jacobs top, a theory top and a really nice pair of skinny Gap khakis at $3.75 each. Can't beat that! read more

What a treat for my family. We spent Black Friday here instead of the shopping frenzy at the mall. We picked this location because in a nicer area so probably better donations and believe we did well. We recycled about 125$ worth of clothes between the 4 of us and everyone left happy. We all left with lots of clothes and smiles. All the shirts were 4.95 I think and I got 4 or 5 great ones and a Keurig pod holder that is on my coffee bar. Our family goes to Goodwill on most of our towns we visit and this was no exception other than we often visit Asheville and will be back here soon! read more

Went once and found a couple of nice things . Check out was easy. I overlooked items that I had no interest in . Will go again .

They have shoes that are so nasty looking and worn out along with not being organized by size was my first turn off. The second was how unorganized and again that should've never been put on the racks. I had such a horrible experience here. The customer service and manager is extremely rude, very short and frustrated from the very beginning before I even put my bag of return items on the counter. I had just left a goodwill store in Arden, went by my moms house to try it on (because I have previously been assaulted in a dressing room at goodwill) and maybe an hour later went by the Patton store at 86 tunnel rd to return the items I didn't want because that was on my way home. The woman at the front was confrontational from the start. I spoke very kindly to her just incase she was having a hard day to see if it would shift her attitude towards me. That didn't work. She went through my items spreading the tossing them everywhere while she mumbled stuff to herself. She then told me that some of the items were not on there. I explained that I had just left so that there is no way i mixed them up or anything. She barked back at me that she didn't care what I had done or said and that she isn't giving it back and that's that. I then asked the lady if I could speak to her manager. She said No. I then saw the manager and asked him myself. He came over and didn't even recount the clothes that were there or look at my receipt he just said "what do you want me to do" I asked him if he could help resolve the situation and he said he was too busy and that he's not going to give me money for clothes I didn't pay for. I told him all the clothes are there and no extra ones. He said basically if the people didn't ring it up correctly that I will just have to pay for their mistake. So I took it upon myself to stand there at the front and calmly yet embarrassingly count my own clothes and mark it on my receipt. Sure enough all the clothes that I was returning was in fact on the receipt. And another woman Elise entered those extra ones they missed on my return. There was absolutely NO apology from either of the associates. It was extremely frustrating, humiliating and rude to be put in this position. I wish I had the woman"s name but all I can do is describe her as very short with a pink bow in her hair and the manager's name is Cesil. Hopefully they will get a review from corporate after I report this incident and get redirection on how to work in an environment where customer service is required. Definitely go anywhere but here. They need major adjustments before they should offer service to anyone. read more

This is one of my favorite goodwills in the area. I haven't been in awhile but last time I visited I found a Rebekah Minkoff crossbody for under $10 and they are normally priced around 200-300 new! It was such a great find. read more

The products are fine, racks are full but it's busy all the time and the staff is usually pretty rude. An older woman complained to me that it "made for a long day for her" that I had "so many" items that didn't work out in the fitting room. I had 8. I worked in retail for ten years, I get the struggle of fitting rooms that pile up- but she and another worker giving me dirty looks as they complained I had items to put on the go back rack made me feel so unwelcome and like a bother. I had the rudest employee this morning when I went to donate clothes and household goods. he bruskly asked what I had and when I mentioned a headboard got snippy and told me he didn't want it. he then proceeded to walk inside the building, saying put your stuff here indicating on the curb. I had a trailer full of stuff and there's 100 pound woman. It would've been nice for him to offer to help unload. I instead poked my head and told him that it would be wise to be kinder to people who are trying to donate to the organization and told him I would take my donations elsewhere. its not great to treat those who keep goodwill stocked with such rudeness!! read more

Not sure why this Goodwill has such a bad rep- I like it. Sure it is a little smaller, but they still pack it full of some good stuff. Great place to find quality clothes, book and shoes. Their homeware section is small (not much furniture) but they have some nice things to offer. I always find the staff here to be efficient and kind- they make an effort to have some friendly chats with you and are willing to help. The parking lot can be a bit dicey if you go during a busy time, but the location is so convenient to many places. read more

GOODWILL discriminates against people with disabilities - especially those with COPD, autism, or anxiety disorder. They LITERALLY told me they didn't care WHAT disability my son had, he could not come in without a mask because that's what the governor said. When I showed them the exceptions in the governor's orders, they told me they were private property, and to leave. NEVER going back, NEVER giving anything else to them - I'll throw it away first. read more

Very cluttered and unorganized. This used to be a nice store but I was very disappointed. Might be some good stuff there but hard to find.

I can't believe anyone would leave negative reviews on people shopping when this is for the store itself. It's not Goodwill's fault people are jerks. Anyway, this store has gotten me some pretty cool stuff. Of course it's always a gamble whether you will find something you want or not, that's a given. Last time I went I got 4 workout shirts six bucks! I don't even know how that happens! The book selection is always decent. They also have a case with neat stuff in it. We got a really cool book from the 1920's also on the last visit. Also have never had a problem with the staff here. They've always been pretty friendly :) read more

Pretty good selection here. Plenty of plates and bowls (but don't count on finding a matching set), baby clothes (even the extra tiny sizes!), robes, nursing bras, women's blouses and athletic shorts. My husband went in specifically wanting a small backpack and was very happy with what a found - an LL Bean backpack for only $3! read more

Visited this location today. I needed some type of container to stick paint brushes in and a old book I could use for a mixed media project. So clearly I wasn't searching for famous names! Found exactly what I expected to find in a THRIFT store (2nd hand donated items that someone else didn't want!). My selections 4 total (I made sure to buy two things to make up for the snobbish couple) were totaled up by the sweetest young lady w/ awesome hair!!! Everyone in the store was friendly, this lady just happened to be a extra nice, but in a honest way! My final price was so low even after bumping it up to an even amount w/ a donation I felt a little guilty! So along w/ my 5 stars I'd like to leave my thanks to the staff and to those who donate!!! I'm not sure what some people are expecting? Entitlement much? SMH!!!!! read more

Worst goodwill in asheville. Staff is rude, dressing rooms are a mess, and seriously lacking any organization. I love thrifting but this place is awful. Side note - goodwill does nothing good for our community. Donate your clothes to brother wolf thrift store, or to Salvation Army! read more

This is by far the sloppiest $#+t-storm of a Goodwill that I have ever been in! They quite obviously NEVER throw anything out or clean out unsold merchandise. They need to go through housewares and get rid of the scratched-up Teflon-coated frying pans that have accumulated from apparently a few years back. Don't know who manages this store, but something needs to change. Saw a pair of fuzzy slippers so nasty that they should have been trashed by the original owner rather than donated, and Goodwill employees should NEVER have put them on a rack to be resold. read more

Way too packed with other peeps who do not want to share space*. I have never walked out of here feeling satisfied. I know that thrift shopping is a gamble, but most of the stuff is dreck. I am not sure why; I would have to do a demographic study. Listen, I shopped here a few years, gave up on it for a few more, and then tried it again a few days ago. And here I am, writing this review. Skip if you want more than three items, or if you do not enjoy body odor. *Some people just do not move while texting and hogging the aisle, some use the "excuse me" ploy by forcing you out of your position and then they take it, and, oddly enough, this is where I first met "The Excuser". She says it in an aggressive, "I-dare-you" way, and years went by before I came across her again a few months ago at the hub GW. Where is Steve Martin when you need him?! read more

Has some bad reviews but I've gotten some good stuff. Baby clothes were in great condition and some painitings too. Small housewares section, There is a lot of junk but some good stuff too. As for rude shoppers, never really noticed a difference from anywhere else. read more

Tonight we had a horrible experience at the 86 S Tunnel Rd Asheville, NC location. I'm regretting I didn't get it on film. My husband and I have shopped at Goodwill for years. Most of the stores we've visited were clean and the items were fairly priced. When we entered that store, we were immediately taken back by the musty odor. Then, while we were shopping, we were struck by the dirtiness of the store and the items for sale were not worthy of asking the prices as labeled. The pricing was haphazard. Some items where one was larger than the other would be priced less than the smaller identical item. The prices did not reflect the other Goodwill stores we've visited at all. The prices weren't even close in comparison. Yet, to support the store, we were still going to purchase 2 items. While my husband was complaining to me about how dirty the store was and how overpriced the items were, a man who was eavesdropping, leaned over to us and said if you don't like the prices, go somewhere else. Yet, he didn't just say it; he yelled it. The shoppers nearby, stopped shopping to watch the scene. We asked him who he was, and he said he was the manager. I said wow, why are you so defensive? He started yelling in my face and was so close and angry, I was afraid he was going to hit me. He was throwing his body toward me in a threatening way. His behavior was so bazaar, that at first I didn't believe he was a manager or even worked for the store. It was so surreal. I've never experienced anything so horrible in my life. My husband was still going to buy 2 items, and I told my husband to put the items back, we were not going to give them a dollar. Then the manager started following us as we were trying to leave yelling to the top of his voice. Everyone stopped shopping to watch the spectacle. It was horrible. Then he followed us to our car screaming, "Merry Christmas"! I asked him if he was on drugs and let him know we were contacting Corporate. He did say his name was Vincent when I asked him, but I'm not sure he told us the truth. We considered filing a report with the police department, but instead, I've contacted Corporate. I hope they will discipline his accordingly. read more

This place has improved in the last year.....the only complaint is there is not enough room and they put out 5-6 carts of product and just leave them and you can't get through with your own cart. I'm also saying NOT wheelchair friendly because everything is so close together you can't really walk through easily. read more

I have been donating to this location for the last 12 years and I've never had any issues. However this morning I was taking a big bag of child's clothes being my second donation this week. As I pulled into the drop off area the big doors were open and donations had been dropped off before me. I was greeted at my car door by a very rude lady as I was taking the bag out. She didn't say hi or hello. She rudely said I can't make a donation until 9 am. I've never been told this and my drop offs are always on my way to work around. 815am. This morning it was 819 am when I arrived. I asked her name. She said Tish or Trish. I told her I was going to report her rudeness. She said "go ahead". She would not let me leave the bag of clothes. I called the store later and Asked to speak to a manager. She answered and told me she is the manger. I asked her supervisors number and name. I will be calling him. I will find another charity that will gladly accept my donations. read more
