My main guides/teachers Charlie, and Ashlie have taught me more than I could have ever hoped for. It is sad to see that they have left due to a huge misjudgment of sorts. Although my time here has been great lovely teachers, campus, and environment, that is why I'm upset to see these events unfold. I love it and I hate it, that is why I decide to leave it with 2 instead of five. Mrs. Leti and Ms. Brianna have been absolutely amazing along with the rest of the staff that work with them. They model how I want my child to act and I feel they truly love my child like their own. We would not be as far as we are in milestones without them. It was beyond unsatisfactory, it was unsafe. I am a first time mother and there are now flags that I will never miss again. For one, this claims to be a Montessori based program in philosophy, but there are bouncers in the room. Infant room usage of containers was excessive. I received photos of my child in a bouncer regularly and was a bit confused by this as we don't ever use them at home. What I later found was that my child was having difficulty sleeping on site and the team were allowing him to sleep in the bouncer because he refused otherwise. Odd given that he has never slept in one at home. The overuse of Boppy pillows with incorrect and unsafe body positioning was alarming; I received a photo while my child was sliding down it and crying. My child came home with one of the worst rashes he has ever had, red inflamed blotchy skin from front to back. Come to find out chatting with other parents this was a concern shared with their team. The teachers will allay your concerns and say no worries and they'll change the baby every hour, but there seems to be communication breakdowns between morning and afternoon staff. Our final straw was safe sleep and bottle propping. I shared concerns with the director of me directly observing my son being placed to sleep on his stomach and that a child had milk spilling down her face while bottle was propped as she was in a boppy pillow. Not much changed. Around the same time licensing came in and per their report (which is public!) the inspector observed 5 different infants put to sleep on their bellies. My impression became after this inspection my sons teacher blamed me for this inspection as she told another parent it was due to parent complaint, taking zero responsibility for the fact the entire infant team nearly was engaging in UNSAFE and DANGEROUS sleep practices. I understand mistakes. I do not understand team culture disregarding what major organizations and trainings provided state. Infants can die from that. It is beyond ridiculous to even behave in a passive aggressive fashion towards a parent for this concern but also to try to lie when the information is public. The pressure to grow and add more children is showing on these educators and caregivers. Slow down, sunrise. The care has gone from what years ago folks were thrilled about to turning into worse than a major daycare corp.

If you look…read morefor a school that is calming, full of personal attention, and focusing on whole child development, I highly recommend this school. UBM is a family-oriented school. Mr. Patrick and Ms. Lei are always very calm when they receive children in the morning and release them in the afternoon no matter how stressful the transition is for the child or parent(s). School leadership and the guides are highly reachable and responsive to parents' requests. Their focus on development of the children shows in their guides. They have stable lead guides and focus on their Montessori education, certification, and continued development. Our son started in UBM when he was 21 months old and graduated when he was five and a half years old; he only had two lead guides, one for pre-primary and one for primary. UBM focuses on whole child development and parent education. Let's face it, as parents we're not all experts in child development, and UBM is there to help us. They conduct multiple workshops each semester to educate parents about child development and Montessori education. This includes recommending various parenting books to refine parental styles to better work with their children at home, especially to understand and have a more peaceful time while their children are going through the "terrible 2's." We are able to have constructive conversation with our lead guide, Ms. Sandy, and head of the school, Ms. Lei, to get advice on how to best work with our son. We found great value in their wisdom for understanding children and teaching us how to properly recognize and respond to their needs. UBM provides a solid and strong academic education in language, art, math, geography, etc. We observed our son's academic progress over the years and are very impressed on what he has learned at UBM, most importantly his ability to think and solve problems. As any true Montessori program should deliver, the practical education he received at UBM is a solid foundation for life. As part of their focus on the whole child, Mr. Patrick hand picks excellent enrichment programs in the afternoon such as art, piano, soccer, chess, and dancing. He is particular to ensure each program provides value to the children, as the old adage goes that you should be getting what you're paying for. If you want your children to have a solid academic and behavior foundation before you send them to elementary schools, we highly recommend UBM.

Thoughts from a CPM graduate: I attended CPM from 1st grade…read morethrough 5th, I will graduate high school in 2026. To say I am grateful I went to Cedar Park Montessori would not be enough, this school impacted me in so many ways, it allowed me to embrace my creativity, ask questions, learn to share and pay attention and ultimately blossom into who I am now! I read once in a book, something along the lines of "If you're taught wrong in elementary school, you'll be trying to catch that train for the rest of your life." Through my experiences at other schools, they teach you very uniform, everyone is learning at the same speed and you are taught that raising your hand just makes the lesson longer, nobody likes a teachers pet or a goody two shoes. Whatever you do... Don't challenge popular beliefs, you are taught to follow the system. CPM is quite literally the opposite, you are encouraged to look at things differently and ask "why?" I used to question "why does this math problem even work?" And at CPM, I was greeted with an actual teacher who wanted me to understand not just pass. It's a smaller more personal learning environment where instead of memorizing you actually learn!!! And its at YOUR pace, not the kids next to you, when you first grasp something it's beautiful and at CPM that feeling was honored by teachers and staff, at CPM the reward isn't it in the candy it's in the understanding. I learned how to love learning at CPM. This is my greatest strong suit; being able to find joy in seeking knowledge. Thats my favorite takeaway. After CPM I went to a public middle school, it was a bit rocky adjusting, not only to the education system but because Montessori kids are so much more emotionally aware. But by having good roots and being taught morals young, I was able to choose my path, I didn't fall into the wrong group, and to this day I've never given into peer pressure, (I know very few teenagers can say that!) and not to toot my own horn, but, im aware that my maturity level is higher than many of my peers because of my early education. I can't thank my parents enough for choosing CPM, truly, one day, I wish to give my child the education and opportunities my parents gave me by enrolling me at Cedar Park Montessori.

I reported illegal classroom ratios, a hostile work environment for staff, concerns about how a…read moremold issue was managed, and pregnancy discrimination. Less than 24 hours after I reported this, I was informed that a member of the staff had filed an HR complaint against me. 3 days later, a woman named Maddy (SVP if People) was sent to the school for what I believed to be an investigation into the claims I'd made. I created a timeline and prepared all the evidence I had to prove my claims. But she didn't ask me about any of it. She just kicked my family out of school and said we weren't welcomed back. This place used to be great, but there's no checks and balances between the Round Rock campus operations and the higher level organization. The impact of this is that staff have no room for advocacy and have no one to share report illegal or unethical operations to. As of May 2023, the campus was out of their advertised ratios daily, and out of Texas state legal ratios most days. I was paying $2015/month for my daughter to be in the advertised 3:1 Nido classroom. But it was regularly operating at 4:1 or 5:1. At times they were 6:1, though that was rare. Children have been getting hurt at a higher frequency due to low staffing and high turn over, and the campus has hidden these incidents and not reported them to licensing (which they're legally required to do). I'm working with the parents of previously injured children to file reports to Child Protective Services and Licensing. Some of the incidents that occurred while my children attended the school: my 8mo daughter fell and hit her mouth so badly her mouth bled for an entire day - no one saw what happened and it was not reported to licensing. They wouldn't provide my family with the video footage of the fall and apparently didn't bother to review it themselves to see what happened. Another child was found with a piece of glass in their mouth and was rushed to the ER. The school wouldn't write an incident report and then refused to cover the ER expenses. Another child was given a food they're fatally allergic to and began to go into anaphylactic shock. No one realized this child was having a reaction and the child wasn't rushed to the ER until their parent arrived to pick them up for the day. Another child was pushed off a bike so hard that his front tooth was knocked out. The school agreed to pay for dental costs incurred, but refused to write an incident report and never reported this incident to licensing. Another child had a seizure (they're okay, it was later determined to be a febrile seizure, but that was unknown at the time of occurrence), and my understanding from the parents is that no action was taken by the school. They advertise videos in the classrooms for safety, but they won't provide video footage when you request it - this has been my personal experience as well as what other parents of injured children have shared with me. Ultimately, this school isn't worth the cost. If you can afford $2400/month for your infant, or $1800/month for your toddler, take them elsewhere and invest some of the difference in a classroom beautification project or staff appreciation. The teachers here are INCREDIBLE (with exception of two who I'd never trust my children with), but they have little agency and are so overworked and under appreciated that it's hard to overlook how a school charging so much is paying their staff so little and treating them so poorly. I have video and written evidence of almost everything I reported internally that got us kicked out. The play learning and lots of outside time gave my child opportunities they wouldn't have had at other preschools/daycare centers to use their body and discover nature in a whole new way. Additionally, I really appreciated not having to prepare lunches and snacks for my child and that there was zero screen time while at school. At times, the school's ideas were so large and grand they were hard to capture, coming across as unorganized. The love and energy put into the school made up for that aspect. We moved on to (public) kindergarten for a more traditional academic education. I'd give Wholesome 4.5 stars if possible. No where is perfect but love and kindness goes a long way when raising children and making the best decision for them. In summary, we loved Wholesome Generation and would highly recommend it overall.
