I was ordering them not a contractor. This was a whole kitchen remodel. I get all the cabinets and they are in small boxes!!! 4600 dollars and I a supposed to do the assembly. Nope we had to return them they did. The one older gentleman in the front was saying how easy they were to put together. While thr kids In the back were saying they are a pain to put together. Then he offered to give me step by step instructions. So he gave me cabinets without instructions. So we returned them bought beautiful same white shaker cabinets assembled at home depot for less!!!! For less!!!!! Then we buy butcher block counter tops and we had to go and order another 10foot one left at the store cause we didn't have room. Went to go back a week later the suckers sold it to some other customers!!!!! The nerve they have. They told us we should have come back sooner. We have a 30 day hold! Now they can't get another one for 3 to 4 weeks! So very disappointed with this company! We have spent a lot of money at this company in windows, doors, and flooring! And this is the treatment we get!!!

I like the prices on trim, used windows, doors. Some appliances are also a deal. Found a widespread sink (not available thru HD or Lowe's) for a good amount. My biggest gripe was loosing/selling the door we had found with rain glass in it. They didn't even seem concerned. I either had to put a non matching door next to the rain glass side window or spend $1000 to get one to match. I learned my lesson- don't let it happen to you.

I was told the wood I was purchasing was quality wood. That the knots wouldn't be larger than 1 1/2 inches and no knot holes. Probably 30% of the wood had large knots, knot holes, and a lot of split and damaged pieces. We managed to cut around and make all of the boards work except 2 boards. When I went to return the two boards and get a few extra I was "helped" by the rudest person I've probably ever had to deal with. From the moment I walked up to the counter he acted like I was disturbing him. He came out to the pile of boards, pointed at the ones I needed to choose from and then as he walked away said "try not to make a mess!" I have made many purchases from city lumber since I bought my home 10 years ago. I believe I have spent enough here to not be treated like a child. I don't know how this business keeps customers if this is how they treat everyone. I will drive to Portland to buy lumber before I will give this place my business again. City Lumber just lost a customer.

These are the nicest folks to deal with and we've built our own house - a lot of which came from Castle Rock Building supply. The quality of the lumber compared to the big box stores is far superior, and usually at a better price. We've ordered custom milled maple for the window trim and countertops, custom windows, endless supplies of 2X lumber, plywood, flooring, Trex & cedar decking, fence posts etc. and always received the order on time and with a smile. If we aren't able to drive in and pick up the order, they are happy to bring it to us. GREAT SERVICE. We always shop here first before going anywhere else. Highly recommended!!

I just left the Castle Rock building supply store hoping they'd have some Topsoil because Four Corners was out. The lady laughed at me and said oh no we don't carry garden stuff. It just rubbed me the wrong way how she said it and snickered. On my way in, I looked at some Garden tools they had out front. I ask her about those and she said all those are for concrete. I thought to myself okay whatever, they look like garden tools to me. I proceeded to look around a little bit to see if there was anything I needed since I am repairing a fence. I could have possibly bought something and I did want to go look at their Lumber so I decided to give her one more chance. I walk towards the front door and waited for her to say thank you for coming in or sorry we couldn't help or have a nice day. Nope nothing. So needless to say they won't be getting my business. It's unfortunate and I'm assuming that they're struggling just like any other business is with the pandemic. So all I have to say is GOOD LUCK lady and I won't be back. I am a handy person and have lots of projects but I would rather go to Home Depot or Lowes. I could go on and tell you how she spoke to the next customer but I need to get back to my fence.
