This isn't one of those places that puts you on the stim machine, quickly cracks you, and then sends you on your way. No, Dr. Hoff takes her time each visit to determine what you need, and molds the session to the best care for you. I had been going to the same chiropractor for several years, someone who really helped me return to athletic form after a flukey injury. However, after so much time, with a more serious back injury, the care never changed, and my injury persisted for weeks and weeks. After my first visit with Dr. Hoff, I improved more than those previous couple months. She listened, tailored our session to my needs, and sent me home with PT to continue to improve. Within weeks I felt back to form, and now, several months into her care, I feel better than ever. I love knowing that I can trust her to really pay attention and to have me walking out ready to hit the gym or grind the pavement on an endurance run. Coming to Synergy has been the single best thing I have done for my health in years, I would never go anywhere else.

I have been going since day one and I choose to keep coming back not only for Dr Hoff and Dr Altman's expertise in chronic pain, but for the exceptional bedside manner I get. Managing chronic pain is hard enough, but trusting who deals with your body is even harder. I wouldn't choose to go with anyone else and I stand behind every referral I give. Kudos and 10/10!

I went for the Thai Massage with Rawiwan. The massage room is inside the chiropractor's office, which is inside a building with other offices. It is quite sizable. the office has very good vibes, with lots of inspirational quotes, friendly pictures, and clean atmosphere. They also sell some raw honey that Dr. Paul apparently makes (is that the term? harvest?) himself. Love me some local honey! I got a jar and am glad I did. I'll be getting another jar soon. Anyway, on to the massage. The 1-hour massage lasted the full one hour (and then some). She uses hot stones, hot towels, and I'm not sure how she does it, but she doesn't reach out to get oil but somehow has it coming out as she's working on you with both hands! Like Spiderman or something. It was really cool. A really, very good massage. Talk to her and let her know if you need her to adjust strength and she gets on it right away. I'd be coming here regularly if I lived a little closer.

Imagine that, a chiropractor who is open on the weekends! He went in for an adjustment with Dr. Case and had a wonderful experience. I had been going to another chiropractor downtown repeatedly for months for an injury from falling and I, normally very active, still couldn't walk normally (this was my second downtown Chicago chiropractor!). Following my husband's recommendation, I went to see Dr. Case. Her very first adjustment had me walking 90% better! I was amazed! Because of a lung surgery I had some weaknesses and was more easily injured, so I came regularly and Dr. Case's adjustments helped to build me back up. Fast forward a few years... I feel strong and I no longer have regular back pain. We're still coming in for tune-ups. My husband has referred many of his coworkers here, and they keep coming back. Dr. Lazar is wonderful too. We have both had adjustments from him as well. I love that UHI is a family run business. Braden is always friendly while running the front. It's a large space, but it has a homey feel with relaxing music and art. Dr. Case even prints out her inspirational wellness writing and poetry which patients can read and take home. I feel grateful to have such a gifted healer for a chiropractor. She cares tremendously about her patients. With contagious positive energy and skill, Dr. Case goes above and beyond to help her patients in any way that she can. I can't recommend UHI highly enough!

"Universal health" means health for everyone, regardless of income, race, gender, sexual identity, etc. Which is far from the truth here. It's clear UHI only caters to the top 1% of our population. If that's you, then please, go to UHI for treatment. You are who they are looking for! I'd compare this company's ethics to someone more like Donald Trump, than say a supporter of universal healthcare like Bernie Sanders. But sort of a reversed Donald Trump? Like Donald Trump says he'll pay his construction workers, then doesn't. UHI says you don't owe them anything, then they harass you with bills and gaslight you into thinking your consistent experience w being misled about costs doesn't matter. One more comparison for the road, in hopes that I can make my experience more clear to the administration: it's like Starbucks saying you can come in for a free drink, then they send you a bill for that "free" drink months later.

I had delayed quite a while because I was afraid going to a functional doctor would be inconclusive and frustrating. However I found that the extensive labs ordered clarified everything elaborately. The results showed I still had issues, which I thought had already cleared up. I felt my lifestyle kinda vindicated in other areas of the lab results. But for my certain minerals Dr Bouffard switched me from what I thought were ideal supplements and his recommendations have been more effective. He also recommended plant sterols and I've seen my cholesterol drop 50 points in 4 months. My white blood cells show that my immune system has calmed down and I feel great. I was told as long as I reschedule an appointment, I would not be charged a $50 dollar canceled appointment fee. Considering I have no control over my migraines and when they decide to come, I was hoping they would stick to this policy. I got a migraine and attempted to call to reschedule. The office staff puts me on with the chiropractor, but they don't manage to reschedule the appointment. Given I did my due diligence, I would think I would not be charged. Think again! My real issue with this place is I attempted to call and remedy this issue at least a dozen times. 2x an office staff said they would get back to me and never did. I left multiple voicemails that were never returned. Eventually I noticed that they would not answer my phone calls. I was immediately sent to voicemail. I even had a friend call and they immediately answered for her. Nothing about my calls or voicemails were aggressive or harassing, I just wanted to figure this out so I could book future appointments without it being an issue. I never did make another because they simply didn't. This is extremely unprofessional and part of being a medical office is dealing with billing. As someone with a chronic illness, just another medical establishment that let me down unfortunately. Again, Dr. Button, you rock!!! Office staff please return calls and do not ignore your own patients :(

I sought help from Dr. Oliphant for a condition I can only describe as nervous fluttering in my…read moreleft arm that persisted nearly two years after my recovery from a frozen shoulder. After one treatment, the fluttering was no more, and six weeks later, it is still gone. The relief is profound. After many months of stretching and movement therapy, I regained movement, and had no soreness, but the nerves in my arm were wrecked. The fluttering and twitching were preceded by what I experienced as a buildup of nervous energy in or around my shoulder joint. At some point, the sensation would break into my awareness. If I were alone, I would try to shake it off --- fluttering, stretching, rotations, meditation, relaxation, whatever I could do -- and if I were in public, I would nonetheless twitch almost involutarily. Others and I had thought that more movement, stretching, and/or meditation would relieve the symptoms, and indeed I could dissipate the nervous energy with exercise (and fluttering). This misled me into thinking it was part of the healing process, but 18 months later, I could no longer deny that I was in a chronic loop. Was it nervous inflammation? An energy imbalance? Was it all in my head? Was it something worse? Dr. Oliphant listened to all of this, consulted with me about the range of possible causes (including the scary ones), and agreed to apply acupuncture in case it were a treatable imbalance. Since that treatment, symptoms have not reappeared. The story's not completely over. I still have questions to answer, but for now, with what I know, Dr. Oliphant's acupuncture restored my arm and shoulder.
