I don't live in the area, but I visit Kenosha here and there to see family and love checking out…read morethe local shops and restaurants when I'm in town. On a recent trip, I was walking by Sandy Popper when something in the window at Modern Apothecary caught my eye. Unfortunately, they were closed at the time, so I made a note to return. On the next trip, after grabbing coffee across the street with a friend, we decided to stop in and finally check it out. The moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a very abrupt and rude, "We are closing in less than 5 minutes, just so you know." No hello, no welcome--just that. I completely understand if we came in close to closing time, but there's a polite and professional way to communicate that. A simple, "Just so you're aware, we're closing shortly, but feel free to take a quick look around," would've made all the difference. Instead, we felt so unwelcome that we looked at each other and walked right back out. First impressions matter, and sadly, this was both my first and last visit to Modern Apothecary. With so many kind, customer-friendly places in Kenosha, I'll be supporting other local businesses in the future.

CVS is a terrible place to go for prescriptions, they only ever have one thoroughly overworked…read morepharmacist who has to answer phones, give advice, clean up, ring up sundries and also work as the pharmacist. There might be a pharmacist tech, but they are minimally trained and really not pharmacists. But if you're coming here for drug store stuff that isn't a medically needed drug, then this location isn't bad. The shelves are generally stocked and the place is clean and bright. There is often one cashier at check out, and they haven't gone to self-check out (yet). Just for fun I stopped at the photo desk and asked if they could develop some film for me and the young lady working looked so confused I smiled for hours afterwards. Adequate parking.
