I purchased a pair of clogs from Chiappetta. They were comfortable and I wore them often, including on hot 90 degree days. These shoes progressively shrunk and got too small to wear. When i returned the shoes, Chiappetta claimed I left them in a hot car and that's why they shrunk. I advised Chiappetta they weren't left in a hot car. After sending my reply, plus 3 follow up emails over 3 weeks and not receiving a return reply, I called them. There was no helpfulness or acknowledgement of the issue and they suggested i contact the shoe manufacturer. I rarely have any issues with orders. To be met with no assistance, and no willingness to acknowledge the issue other than there obtuse insistence the shoes were left in a hot car is NOT acceptable. If you have an issue with an order, don't expect support or resolution from this company. read more

Ended up with a new pair of Birkenstocks, because mine were very worn and damaged, and a pair of running shoes from the sale tent. I placed an order online and it never arrived. I reached out to the store no less than ten to fifteen times and got zero response. I then disputed the charge with my bank and now of course the store will respond to my bank claiming they delivered the order which they absolutely did not deliver. I would heavily advise against shopping here or ordering online. I can't believe how terrible (really, non-existent) and dishonest their "customer service" is. Chiappetta offers shoe repair thinking because they sell expensive footwear the repair would be commensurate with their shoes I took my $285 dress chuckka boots for new soles. At $75 I expected either duplicates or very similar soles to the original. Instead my shoes were returned with lugged hiking boot soles. The store offered their apologies and nothing more. The clerk said the store policy was to show customers the product if the original could not be duplicated. I was not advised Chippetta could not duplicate the existing soles. Chiappetta's charges and pretensions do not measure up to their service. read more

Dear future customers. Buyers beware. What you hear about midwestern values and customer care might be true but not with these folks. If you are relegated to shopping through the internet like I am because of difficult feet that are size 11 you know already that finding shoes in a store can be challenging at best. And add to that tendon issues and bunions only compound the problems with frequent returns. I usually shop at larger websites, better known with complimentary shipping or partial complimentary shipping. I tried Chiappetta because I found comfort shoes with a bit of sparkle for a wedding I'm attending. They were not available anywhere else in my size. The website made it clear, or so I thought, that I would pay for return shipping. Not the case, my friends, not the case at all. I returned the shoes, took them to the post office, paid $12.00 insured return when I paid their shipping over $18.00, $6 more. I was ok with that. Even though I found making money from a customer on shipping was distasteful. Today, payment was credited to my PayPal account, and wow...they deducted from my refund the shipping I paid for when I bought the shoes. So: I paid $6 too much for shipping, and believe me, it was not because the shoes were packed in a pricey manner. I paid the return and if that wasn't enough, the original shipping that I had paid for was deducted from my refund. Yes I paid for shipping twice and paid a third more for shipping on their end. I've have" Fred Flinstone" feet & with age I wear orthotics. I don't want "old lady" shoes & I can honestly say they have a cute selection of quality shoes for my yabba dabba feet !!! I just went to the new location & there was no shortage of wonderful help there. My shoe guy has only been there for about 10 days he said but you wouldn't know it. He was patient, kind and accommodating as he brought out 9 diff pairs of sizes & styles for me to try. I feel terrible that I forgot his name as he deserves a shout out for his professionalism. I buy all of my shoes at Chiappetta Shoe Store for three reasons: 1) knowledge, 2) inventory (selection of shoes), and 3) cobbler service (this is not a dessert reference, but an old world skill that is priceless). I had reconstructive foot surgery and part of the mechanism failed to embed in my bone, so one of feet has a protruding bone and no arch. The other foot is barely hanging on. Needless to say, I must wear these massive orthotics to manage foot health especially due to my Type 1 diabetes that I've managed for 48 years. At Chiappetta's I find attractive shoes that suit all of my foot needs, which says a lot. I can even find sandals which house my orthotics, which is extremely rare. Good shoes are not cheap, as you get what you pay for. At Chiappetta's I have the ability to purchase attractive, well-structured shoes that they can modify even when my extra-defective foot needs a bit more room in the strap in order to fit me. It's worth every dollar I've spent. This shoe store offers the kind of service and quality that Nordstrom used to. Before my feet failed, I used to spend hundreds of dollars on fancy, Italian loafers and fashionable shoes. I was in dire need of new shoes before the lockdown 3months ago. I also knew i needed a different brand than what I had been wearing for years. I absolutely hate shoe shopping as I wear orthotics, have had both feet operated on & would rather shop for swimwear than shoes! This was different! It was fabulous to have Joe unlace, put my orthotics in & tie them up! I just sat & he did all the work!!!! We tried 3 different shoes & found my "possibly perfect" shoe in less time than me running all over malls & other shoe stores. I also asked about returning shoes (as I'm known to try for a week & if they don't work back they go). Yes they take returns even now! I have a feeling I will return to this store for my next pair of shoes. It was a fabulous experience to "sit & fit" instead of sitting in a loud store, no wide shoes, not in my size etc.... I only waited a few minutes to have someone help me (Monday around 11-12). Its THE first time I didn't hate trying on shoes! Highly recommend this store. Yes the shoes are higher end so yes you'll pay more( not more than what i would have paid online just top of the line shoes which is what I have to wear standing all day for work). Holy moly!!! Kenosha shocks me again... this place is one of THE BEST shoe stores I've been to in the country - the entire country. Marathon runner, walker, stabilization, wide foot, narrow, 6.5, 14s, they have it, they know it. They are not just shlepping shoes part time or as a side gig to pay bills... these are some super sharp shoe pros. They do not have the kinesiology expertise of say a place like the Endurance House but different stores for different ends. The selection here, availability, and professionalism is mind blowing. Joseph our shoe and foot pro, or shall I call him Dr. Joe was great as he moved expertly between patrons shopping marathon trainers to slippers, and work boots! He killed it knowledge, service wise... heck he killed it in ever measure - so nice to see a local shop prove why there is room for brick and mortar in an online world. To say I am picky and expect a high standard from service professionals would be an understatement of vast proportions... 6 stars here in Kenosha! Very cramped shoe store. These salesman are a bit too slippery for me. I was trying the limited selection of men's shoes that they offer, which he was very helpful I will say, I finish up with that and then proceed to put my shoes back on, never explicitly saying "I'll take these." Then I get up to leave, and he's placed them at the register asking how I'll be paying. It was news to me that I was purchasing those shoes, never was I asked if I'd be taking those with me or anything like that. So I left. Not fond of the car salesman style tactics. Again this place is very cramped with that overloaded clearance rack taking up a significant amount of floor space. I overheard no returns from a salesman at the register too. This isn't a jab against anyone but this is geared more towards women's shoes from what I seen. I doubt I'll be back. read more

I went here for the first time today and I was incredibly impressed. Nick was very attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure that I walked out with a pair of shoes that I was very happy with. I never felt rushed or pressured, there was no urging towards the most expensive shoe or anything, etc. It was really just about finding the shoe that worked best for me, and I felt like I could take as long as I needed to make that decision. I took my college-age son and my parents along with me on my latest trip from the Chicago suburbs. I am willing to travel the hour-long distance several times a year because the service, selection, and quality of shoes offered are so excellent! Tony Chiapetta and his sales team are great at customer service. They treated my parents who are in their mid-80's with grace and respect, fitting my dad's 4-E wide foot with a Clarks leather slip-on and my mom with fashionable leather flats by Joseph Seibel. My son wears over-the-counter orthotics while I have custom-made orthotics from Chiapetta. Tony checked and repaired my orthotics and found the right fit for my son from his in-store selection. He and I also walked away with new gym shoes for him and a great sandal from their latest sale for me. You will spend more for a quality pair of shoes, but they will last two to three times longer than anything you might purchase from a big-box store or discounter making your dollar go farther in the long run. This store is like something from another age. Knowledgeable and attentive staff that sell high quality goods. The value of what you get here is high, with value being the relation between what you pay versus what you receive. Many of the shoes here have a higher cost than you will find at traditional department stores. What you get however is a pair of shoes that fit well and are well made. I love all my chiappetta shoes and they are all holding up well. Something I used to dread was which dress shoes to bring on business trips, by the end of the day my feet would hurt and I'd always feel silly changing into tennis shoes or just suffering through the long days. Well the dress shoes I've gotten from Chiappetta are so comfy this isn't an issue. So if you are tired of your feet hurting and are willing to invest in them-there is no better store than this. read more
