    Dip sandwich w/ possible mold.
    Chyna P.

I hope this is not mold but when I looked closer at the meat, the green pieces looked fuzzy :(. It may look more blackish in the picture but it is definitely green in real life. My boyfriend got a burger and he said it was really good, but I stopped eating mine once I saw that. The fries were definitely not fresh either. This was our first time trying this new place and I am hoping that I'm wrong about the meat, but I'm not sure. It didn't taste that great in the first place which is why I checked.

I had the French dip that was great. It's a bit small and loud but I liked it. Service was just great.

Tonight we came out to Js for my husband's birthday…read more The restaurant was clean, dimly lit, and fairly loud. Our waitress was good but not one of our favorites. Our waters were never filled and our non-alcoholic beverage drinkers were never checked on to see if their drinks were ok/wanted something else/need anything. She also only checked on us 1x right after the food was dropped off to see if we needed freshly ground pepper and not again until it was time for desert and the check. For appetizers we had the Thai Scallops and the special Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus. The Thai Scallops are one of our go-tos and they were good; however, they were pretty heavily breaded tonight. The Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus was good but was hard to eat and could have used a bit more cooking. For my main I had the linguine and clams. I was HIGHLY disappointed in this tonight. The noodles were delicious and beautifully done but the "sauce" was nothing but pasta water. There was flavor: no garlic, no butter, no clams-no flavor whatsoever. The clams were also macerated as if someone chewed them up and spit them in the dish for me. My husband had the ribeye with gorgonzola butter and polenta. Everything was cooked beautifully and seasoned perfectly but his chunk of butter (his favorite) was so frozen it never melted-even by the end of the meal. For desert, my husband had the bread pudding and we had the crème brûlée. My husband said the bread pudding was good but slightly dry and cold. The crème brûlée was horrible. We sent it back and got "oh sorry someone new made them-big fail" and laughing. The brûlée was not even close to being set so it was pure liquid. It wasn't even a consistent temperature. After years of loving eating at Js and celebrating milestones here it makes me sad to see how quality is slipping.

We had a reservation on a Thursday night so seating was easy and highly recommended. The service was friendly and spot on. Let's start with the young servers standing around laughing and gossiping so loud that the whole restaurant can hear them. I really don't care that some boy had a long term relationship with some girl. Now for the food. Buffalo prawns were supposed to come with spicy ranch, there was none to be found. Couldn't ask our server because he was no where to be found. Chicken piccata was flourery tasting and tasted like frozen chicken. Vegetables under cooked. Pasta overcooked. Everything under seasoned. Chicken Marsala was exactly the same. Mash potatoes were lukewarm at best and asparagus (bamboo shoots) were almost raw. There really isn't anything good I can say other than I was sure happy to be out of the place. First and last time there.

I had my eye on Red Dog Saloon for lunch, so that was our first stop. Beverages: They have many choices for beer on tap or no tap. I chose the Cali Squeeze IPA (Blood Orange). To say this was a tasty beer is an understatement! It was so good! It was served chilled in a beer mug and is one of the best beers I've every tasted! Food: To order food, you have to get in line at the kitchen area where all of the food is made. We ordered a large all meat pizza. A server will bring food to your table - we were in awe of how large this pizza is! For the four of us, it was a lot! The pizza was amazing and delicious! One of the best pizzas I've ever had! We also had a garden salad prior to having pizza. The vegetables and dressing were super fresh! Ambiance: The ambiance is festive, lively, exciting, and full of chatter! We were lucky to get a table as they were very busy. The saloon is clean, as well as their restrooms. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the Virginia City area! You will not be disappointed!
