Stopped at Good Thyme this morning, I got an order of donut holes and a crispy chicken biscuit. The donut hole were so good, nice and fluffy on the inside. They came with some sauce drizzled on them , not sure what it was but all I can say is yum!!!! The chicken biscuit was great. The biscuit was crispy yet fluffy and the chicken was crispy and juicy. It came with honey on the chicken. The only thing I could have had more honey but other than that everything was very tasty. read more

Dietary restrictions- say no more- GLUTEN FREE, vegan and vegetarian options available! Daily specials available - don't forget to ask about those- I got the breakfast tacos! When I found out about Good Thyme's soft opening last week I knew I needed to get there ASAP! I came for lunch and was not surprised they were busy! It's a take out / picnic or packed lunch type of flow that makes them different than other establishments in Lakeland. When you walk up you order at a counter and pick up your meals around the corner at the pick up window. There is limited bar style seating outside under umbrellas only. The lunch menu had many options and many of them were easily customizable to be made cruelty free and plant based. I tried two dishes: their Jambalaya with seitan was delicious, the dish had a slight heat to it and the rice was the perfect texture you would expect. I'm not sure if they make their own seitan but it was very good, one of the best I've had! The stir fry with seitan was full of veggies and had great flavor, I really liked that it was a little blackened, it added more depth to the dish. In my opinion the stir fry was a little too salty but I would eat it over and over again! I can't wait to go back and try their vegan biscuits and gravy! But I'll have to make it there by 11am to grab them. They don't have menu times listed yet, but only serve breakfast 7a - 10a, 10a -11a is a transition period to lunch but biscuits and gravy are still available. I heard they are planning to open more hours and possibly weekend but right now it's only 7a - 3p M-F. Area of improvement: Though all of the meals come in recyclable containers I didn't see any recycling bins around the outside bar seating area. The utensils didn't look to be made of a recyclable material which could be why. I would love to see them switch to completely low waste/ compostable packaging and utensils in the future and have the proper bins on site. Dined 6/23/2022. This is a small facility that offers outside counter service for breakfast (7 - 10 a.m.) , lunch (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) and in-between (10 - 11 a.m.). Having eaten at other operations in this location (Fat Maggies', D'Luca's), it's probably not a bad way to go. It was always small and noisy inside, with seating for about 20 at most and cramped quarters at that. Now, the building is devoted to the kitchen; orders at the window on the south face, pickup at the window on the east face. This is a great idea for this location. It's okay to dine at the property, there are picnic tables & a long bar with umbrellas & chairs when it's nice, but it is convenient for takeaway service. I had the BLT from the lunch menu, nicely prepared bacon, good tomatos, lettuce, not too much mayo, quality bread, excellent. The half-cup side of black beans almost stole the show, prepared with garlic & cumin, red chiles, better than normal, I wish I'd thought to ask if fresh onion was possible. I carried away at about 11:30, ate at home & back to work, I was satiated all afternoon. The rest of the menu (goodthymelkld.com) looks intriguing so we'll have to try other items next visit. Their fried chicken sandwich is better than Chick-fil-a's and better than Popeye's! Served on a brioche bun, with honey mustard and sweet-heat pickles. The pickles are homemade and the mustard is just tangy enough. So so delicious. They have packets of Red's hot sauce if you want it hotter like I did. Served with a side--about 4 or 5 to choose from. I got the Street Corn and that was also tasty! I'm not sure why the restaurant is labeled as vegan. They do have some vegan options but also serve meat. It's a chicken biscuit and just because your computer changes at 10am doesn't mean you can go the extra mile. You denied me of being satisfy customer that has showed up three times. I drove 20 mins + to try this place out and have left disappointed every time. Lack of customer service. Second they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Being that its 2023, i like to actually enjoy the food i pay for especially since everything costs so much now. We ordered the steak sandwich and the chicken stir fry. The food was not horrible, it just also wasnt worth the money. We also got a kids grilled cheese and 3 drinks, the total ended up to about $70 plus a tip??? (Ive been a server for several years and even i find it ridiculous to ask for a tip at places like this). Every time we go to concord we talk about going here but now we can cross that off our list. It's ok... I ordered online for pick-up and that's where I think most of my problems came from. When you order online it tells you that your food will be ready in 30 minutes so I waited 30 minutes exactly to pick up my food. There were people there but really talking to each other and ignoring me for about 5 minutes. Eventually they asked me what I needed and I explained I was there to pick up food. I got it home, about 3 minutes later (I live close) and my food was cold. There weren't a lot of people there eating so my guess is that the food was ready in 10 minutes and just sat for 20. Cold food that isn't supposed to be cold is rarely good so you can see where my problem is. I'd try them again, maybe... I mean, probably not. But if I did, I'd definitely do it *not* online. Really hit or miss. The ribeye bowl was good, potatoes could have used 2-3 more minutes or cooking but were good so was the steak. The avocado was brown which is annoying when there's a $2 up charge. The location is tucked away, which I like. This place gives off a more "local's only vibe." It's really hard being a vegan and being in love with breakfast foods. Because the options just aren't there at many and most restaurants. I was excited to try their Seitan Biscuits & Gravy... they were out of seitan... so I still got the biscuits and gravy. My bf got a chicken biscuit with side of gravy. The food was great. The people... whoever was working there didn't acknowledge us when we walked up, we ordered/paid online to be covid friendly and interact with the staff as less as possible but to not even be greeted? They didn't know I had an online order... I've been in the hospitality industry for a long time and that's a no brainer. It was early, so I'll chalk it up to they weren't awake yet.
