I bought a vibrating wand at the Essex Jct. location on Pearl St. At that time, my experience was a good one... ...until 6 weeks later. Granted, it WAS 6 weeks from the time I bought the wand until I opened it. The packaging was supposed to have a storage bag and a USB cord for charging. It did not. I went back to the store to get an exchange, not a refund. A female employee greeted me and I asked her about an exchange. As I was telling her my issue another female employee (I assume some sort of mgr. or owner) came to the counter and immediately started berating me. "Really? Six weeks?" I said I wasn't looking for refund just exchange. Her: "How do I know you didn't just take them?" I told you she wouldn't. "See?", she said. The she said, "You'll have to contact the manufacturer." I said "You sell me a defective item and it's MY fault?" Her: "Well...you don't have to shop here." Furthermore, their prices are outrageous as I was to find out after doing some comparison shopping. Worst customer service ever. While looking for my ID I looked at the employee and said "Sorry, hang on I'm of age and I'll prove it once I find it" the women (older women) behind the counter scoffed at me and said "you're probably a pregnant 16 year old anyways." This by far is the rudest comment I've ever recived from someone. She clearly hates her job and doesn't give two dams about the business she works for. I did not say anything not wanting it to escualte any further. Found my ID, showed her and got the response "Could have fooled me." Upon looking around with my partner after being treated rudly I felt uncomfortable, like I was being judge for wanting to start a family with my partner and being young. She also kept her eyes on us non stop as if we were going to rob the place. Due to this we decided to leave. When leaving she commented again, and stated that "We probably couldn't afford anything anyways" At this point being hormonal I was in the verge of tears. I will never go back to this place. The staff are rude and have no kindness in them. To the women behind the counter: I make $4,000 a month after taxes and my partner makes $6,000 after taxes. We can afford anything we want. I would give this store 0 stars if I could but I had to give it one to start this review. I witnessed two employees (one with a blue plaid shirt and blue sneakers and one with pink hair and blue leggings on 9/11 at 8:20 PM) absolutely berate someone. The individual was experiencing homelessness and needed a place to sleep and they yelled at this person and picked a fight while shoving their camera in the persons face. The person left calmly and the two employees continued to berate this person. They threw the individuals food and water in the trash. Very dissatisfied customer. Found the same item I purchased at their store for a hundred dollars less online. When I called the store, the man who answered the phone named chuck called me brother. First off i am not your brother I am a paying customer. Second he gave me this long winded answer about how they sell the real products and not knock offs and wouldn't even let me talk, he was very aggressive and very much on the offensive. I wanted to support a local Vermont business but I will not give them my business again as a result. The sales person who did help me was very attentive and friendly so she was great, not complaints on the service she provided. Stopped in for a vape battery. I was offered two; one did several things; didn't need that. I asked if the 'throwaway' choice would work. I was told "Yes". Items are way way wayyyyyyyyy overpriced, even compared to other local small businesses. For tobacco products, go down the road to Garcia's. Everything is much cheaper sometimes 1/3+ of the price here. I know the owner uses the excuse that local businesses can't get the same prices that big corporations do, which has some truth in it, but other local small business are selling products at prices to compete with these corporations. Service was ok. Lady seemed to know what she was on about. But they do not do refunds and I don't think they advertise this well at all. Extremely rude and insulting staff member (goth girl who looked to be about 21) demanded to see my boyfriends ID (He is 39), inspecting it to the point of ridiculousness, and then rudely screamed at me and instructed I bring a non-breakable plastic item that fell off an overcrowded shelf as I walked by (about 2 feet from the ground). After she inspected it, turning it round and round for a good 2 minutes, I continued shopping and heard her passive aggressively say, 'oh, don't worry. ILL put it back on the shelf. You keep walking around'. When I asked her why she was being rude to me, she got into an argument with me until by boyfriend and I left, her swearing under her breath. Tell this girl to chill. To the owner: I'm sorry, you must have me confused with another customer. I did not have a friend who couldn't get in due to not having and ID, I went in with my boyfriend. I understand that as a small business you can't get items at the price that huge corporations are able to due solely on the fact of your inability to purchase large quantities. However, I feel that if you're going to be selling products, such as AstroGlide, and you can only get them at a price that is double that of what Rite Aid is charging, you should either a. take the product off the shelf (since it is obviously a product that people will go into your store looking for and are complaining about your prices) or b. buy stock from Rite Aid and sell if for a dollar more, and you'll still make a profit! As for the atmosphere, that is personal preference. Personally, I like my sex shops to feel classy, and enjoy a tastefully decorated shop rather than dildos covering an entire wall, and other walls being just as packed with posters and various paraphernalia. The owner is correct in saying that they have a large selection of dildos, lubes, and other sex toys, along with pointing out that the walls have tons of posters, and also that the store is not solely for sex, since there are other items sold (such as pipes, and other items that have pot leaves on them). read more

(Could have more sex toys) But it seems each time my husband or myself (or us both) enter the store we have been greeted by the same two employees, one is outstandingly rude, and the other so timid and socially awkward I find reasons not to speak to them. A couple of months I went into this store to buy a bottle of lube. My boyfriend had gotten a nice hotel room and we were looking forward to a fun, hot time. Well, the lube did not work at all! It dried up as soon as it came into contact with skin, and had the consistency of glue. You can not even give a handjob with this stuff, let alone have anal sex, the reason I bought the lube in the first place. After many failed attempts of him trying to get inside me before it all dried up (literally seconds) I finally just used the lotion from the hotel bathroom to give him a handjob and get the whole experience over with. I went back to the shop and explained my story (leaving out certain personal details of course). The girl was very snotty (offended maybe?) that the product hadn't worked, did not offer any kind of apology or exhange, saying only, "We haven't had any other problems with it." I know I should have gone online to buy this stuff, but the party snuck up on me and I didn't have time to wait for delivery. I was in the store for a few minutes when the guy behind the counter who said he was the manager suddenly recongized me. Apparently they have my picture and I am blacklisted! He told me I caused a disturbance with the "owner's daughter" (no wonder the blatant unprofessionalism) and that I had made a mess on the counter with the lube. These people sold me a product that did not work, refused to exhange it, were incredibly rude and hostile to me ...and I get blacklisted? If the woman I spoke with wasn't the owner's daughter, she most likely would have been fired in any place that had the slightest bit of CLASS. If you want to go to a sex shop with rude, hostile, greasy-gross looking employees who are not friendly or helpful (I had been a loyal customer before the lube incident, despite the bad service) overpriced tacky gifts and toys (seriously check out Amazon for a much wider, better, and cheaper selection), and products that don't even work...Good Stuff in downtown Burlington is surely the store for you! A veritable rip-off shop, I will never consider giving this place my business again. My adoring, considerate girlfriend gave me a beautiful bubbler from this shop for Christmas, but the good times didn't last long. Less than a week later, I noticed a crack inside the piece, when I called to ask if they'd look at it or consider the possibility of manufacturer defect, I was told, uniformly, "no." I've had glass pieces last me longer than 10 years and this one didn't make it a week? I have experienced better adult toy stores but this one is fairly good. It has a lot of potential. I would recommend video arcades in a back room. I know this may sound expensive but trust me it will pay off! So many adult toy and movie stores have a back area hidden from the "public" area of the store where people can come in and view porn movies by sitting in a booth and inserting quarters in a machine to view the movie for a certain length of time. I know of alot of men who would like to see this feature added. IMAGO in colchester had 3 booths for a while but eventually got rid of them. They were right out in the open to the public and many people didnt feel comfortable going in because there was not much privacy. Most stores have a back room set aside for video booths/arcades where they can watch movies and do whatever they would like to do with themselves. There is an adult bookstore in Barre Vermont called LA Trend located above Planet Rock. They have a video/magazine and sex toy and tobacco pipe set up and then they have a doorway in the back for people to go and its dark and there are about 10 video arcade booths. I know for a fact that they make a lot of money with the amount of people attracted to this feature. Why? Because it is the only place in Vermont, besides ABC Video in Rutland, that has adult arcades in it. Block off the back room, make some booths and you will have business pooring in trust me on this!
