As a middle-aged woman, it's rare that I enjoy shopping anymore. Gone are the days of high heels and reveals. But here, with a little prodding from the owner, I tried on a few things, then a few more things and next thing you know, I was combing the racks. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Ptown just so I can go shopping here. I used to wear a lot of black but as I get older I'm embracing more color and I was able to find some really great things that are favorites in my closet.

He asked if he could help me and I said I was browsing and unsure which scent I might like. He asked me to step aside before microadjusting the bottles, muttering in French that I was "dishonest" and needed to leave, I was there maybe 15 min tops. Never mind, I'll take my wallet and business elsewhere.

The shop, which has been around for over 10 years is chock-a-block full. Antelope horns lean against agate bookends, watermark pillows rest next to small oil paintings, and claw-foot candlesticks, magnifying glasses and a jewel-encrusted crown share table space. A variety of vintage wallpaper serves as backdrops to the diverse assortment. Yates has even created a space for a great assortment of espadrilles and hand screened T-shirts by his best friend, John Kennedy. The shop, like a room with character, is spirited and charming. While we were browsing swimwear, the first salesmen told my friend "you should try on some underwear, I'd be happy to give you a hand." He ignored me when I asked if I could try some things on so I just walked into a fitting room. The second associate said "he's been helping you shop, would you two wanna share a dressing room?" talking about the other associate. My friend declined until it was uncomfortable and silent, meanwhile I'm trying to ask for another size and still being ignored. TLDR if you're not young and muscular, steer clear, and if you are, watch out for the sales associate tag team. Shame cause the clothes are cute
