I did a very last minute hair and makeup trial with Maryanne and Rachel a month before my wedding,…read moreand they were so wonderful about it. I'd originally planned to go with another company, but my trial with them was absolutely terrible and I needed to find someone else, fast. I'd been recommended to call Special Event Beauty, and they got me in the very next afternoon on a Sunday for my trial. I know the ladies had to rush around to make it work, and I can't them them enough for that! Maryanne and Rachel came to The Groton Inn to do the hair and makeup of myself (the bride), my bridesmaids, my mother and soon to be mother-in-law. They showed up promptly, and even worked quickly with the inn to get a few taller chairs in our room to make their jobs easier. Everyone had a wonderful time with both of them, chatting and sharing a lot of laughs. It was the first time a few of them had ever had their hair and makeup done by someone else, and they put them at ease. Everyone loved the end results (including myself, after a bunch of little changes the day of - which they were both so wonderful about and didn't make me feel badly for being so indecisive in the moment) and I loved working with them both - I hope that I get to do it again sometime in the future - you know, for someone else's wedding ;)

I had been in communication with a few different make up and hair artists and I knew I wanted air brush make up specifically. I was really happy with the conversations I had back-and-forth with Jacki who manages the accounts. She always responded right away with all the information I requested. Their prices are reasonable and their team is excellent. I was able to schedule a hair and make up trial in Braintree about a month and a half prior to my wedding. I was so happy with my results. My make up and hair artist was Noelle. She is absolutely incredible. Jacki gave me Noelle because she said she specializes in braids and I knew I wanted my bridesmaids and I to have braids in our hair on the day. Very bohemian look. She did such an incredible job, please see photos for reference. If you are a bride seeking hair and make up I would definitely recommend this service and highly recommend Noelle! Also the rest of the team who styled my bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom. Monet and Cori! You were all incredible. Thank you for making my special day so special!

From the time I place the phone call to book the appointment - to the time I walked out the door from my appointment I was completely impressed with so many different aspects of this small business. The woman who scheduled my appointment was nothing but accommodating and patient with my ever so specific schedule (I was scheduling two appointments around two hectic work schedules). I had a few questions about my appointments (1 being a facial and the other being a spray tan) and she answered them all thoroughly and clearly. Now - to walking in - I was greeted by the owner who was SO sweet and knew my name and offered me a refreshment from the cutest fridge filled with all the best (many sparkling options!). She made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. Not only was she friendly, but the atmosphere was also so chic and inviting - and not to mention SO cleanly. On to my appointment - I was greeted by my Esthetician Abby who showed me to my room and explained a few things and mentioned she'd be back. The bed - heated to perfection with perfectly clean linens and blankets... extremely comfortable! Abby was back once I was ready and my facial began once we addressed my concerns as I chose the "Snatched Custom Facial". She spoke softly, her hands were gentle on my ever so sensitive skin, and she answered every question/concern I had during my session. I've had facials before, but this was hands down one of the best that I've had. Abby went above and beyond after my session was over to ask if I had any other questions for her - which I asked what products she would recommend for me to use to obtain clearer skin. She wrote down many (AFFORDABLE) products that would work with my budget and skin type that she recommends. I did end up purchasing a product from the Beauty Bar, but never once did she push buying any products, and also loved that she gave me options that are within my budget non salon grade. I HIGHLY suggest booking with Abby as she made me so comfortable, and my skin glow significantly after my facial. I'm sure anyone there is amazing - but two thumbs up! Thank you Snatched!

We used the Charlotte Phinney team on-site for a Cape Cod wedding, and they were excellent!…read more The fee for hair and makeup was $250 which initially seemed high and was more expensive than I have paid for bridesmaid hair/makeup services before. But I was extremely impressed with the styling. The hair stylist (Ann) and makeup artist (Emily) were great. Both were fun and easy to talk to, while also remaining completely on schedule - no small task for a group of 8. There were very high quality makeup products used, like Chanel and Dior, and a wide range of shades to fit a variety of skin types and desired looks. The artist used fresh brushes and was constantly keeping things clean. And most importantly, both the hair and makeup were set well enough to hold throughout the entire day and stayed looking great. I would highly recommend!

As soon as they responded I felt very comfortable with them both and couldn't wait for my trial run. Bob did exactly what I had requested with natural makeup, but brought out my eyes more, so I felt like myself just prettier and more confident. He was fun, and had a great playlist! Ann had a much harder job as I wanted half up and the rest curled, but as I was very aware, my hair doesn't hold a curl well. She worked her magic...had to move my headpiece at the end, but otherwise I was very pleased. I went out to eat near the beach, and after sent her pics of the problem areas that didn't keep the curl because of the weather. She noted that and did an even more amazing job on my wedding day. She even stayed later on that day to freshen up a few of my bridesmaids before we left. Charlotte was also amazing...after my trial run my mom (who NEVER wears makeup) loved the results so much she decided she wanted to be added for both hair and makeup for the day of my wedding, as well as my jr. bridesmaid...and Charlotte added Gianna with no issues to come do the extra people.

I absolutely love this place! It is my weekly Self-care spot!…read more Why you may ask? I'll tell ya! A few years ago I had to cut my hair up to my chin because of how badly my hair had continued to break off and give itself a non intentional mullet looking cut. Gross right? And what was even grosser was the Well Water I had to use at home that made my hair break off even more, feel like straw and turn my blonde hair copper. I would have to go back monthly for my hair color to go back to platinum ashy blonde, use a purple shampoo religiously and wash my hair daily. For the past two years I had been trying to grow back my hair that was once long, thick, and healthy. And nothing was working, not even Biotin Vitamins. Ever since I started going to the Glossarie, I can go without dying my hair for 3 to 4 months. Holy Crap! Right? My last hair appointment was 40$ for a haircut. I usually have to spend over a hundred every time I go in there. The last time I spent 40$ on a haircut was maybe when I was in the 6th grade. Anyways.... It gets better! My hair that I use to wash daily, I now only wash twice a week. Once I wash it myself and the other time is at the Glossarie. But Wait.... there's more! My hair has grown significantly!!! Many people will ask me if I have extensions in because they don't believe that my hair could have possibly grown that fast.... but it did! I can now wake up, roll out of bed for work, and not have to touch my hair for 3 to 4 days. My hair is incredibly healthy and LONG! My hair color holds and I've even managed to get my hair back to its natural color. I've had many people go way out of their way to come up to me to comment on my hair color and ask where I get my hair done. (I literally had this lady that turned her car around in the parking lot to come drive by me and roll down her window to ask) Lastly, (I know you are probably thinking how could there possibly be more, but there is!) the IGK Product that they use is amazing. I have found myself to become a Product junkie purchasing a new IGK product every time I go in there. Courtney Steele is extremely informative when it comes to educating customers on the products that they use. Speaking of staff, they are great! I have my regular appointment weekly with the same hairstylist. I already have him scheduled out for the next two months as they have a easy app that allows you to schedule your own appointments at any time in the day and also modify your appointment if you need to! I could keep going on about how much this place has changed my life for the better. I wake up daily feeling confident and no longer embarrassed of my hair. #NoBunsNecessary I'm not usually even the type of person to write a review about a place, but I am just incredibly impressed.
