The comments and reviews that succinct to "all they want is money" are 100% correct, and I feel for those who have been affected by this "Counseling Service". I was 17 years old when I was court ordered to attend Serenity Point and attending through my insurance program. I am now 29 years old. I've been fighting them for 13 years due to a statement that shows I owe over $1,000. As a 17 year old, this seems HIGHLY unethical. At the time, I was underage and attended through my insurance program. I've been down to the office and I've spoken with their billing department and they quite literally do not have record of my attendance nor did they have record of billing on my behalf. However because it was turned into the credit bureau I now have to pay it regardless, which is fine. I can do that. But this is just a warning to whoever is seeking to attend Serenity Point. If this is court ordered, I would suggest to your attorney and/or probation officer to attend a counseling service elsewhere. If this is for personal recovery, please, please, please go elsewhere. To say I am absolutely disgusted by the owners and employee's of this service would be an understatement. They do and will not "provide high-quality behavioral health care to the Walla Walla Community". The fact that they are family owned? Speechless. I hope this review can help someone in the future.

Jimmye Angell-Erickson PHD 2009-ish 1424 East Isaacs ave…read moreWalla Walla, WA (509) 529-0410 last known When I started with Angell I was required to do do the INNER CHILD HEALING exercise of putting myself in a mental "safe space" and we take the "child" (me) through a verbal tour. I had only seen Angell twice before and Angell used the pronoun "her" referring to me. In the practice the pronoun is used very often, as that is also part of this practice. I had never heard anything like this before so I was surprised that I immediately got very physically and emotionally shook. I came to a full stop and said it was really upsetting me and could we use any other term. I asked if we could use my name. She was mad, fuming. She ended the practice, and the session early and told me that I'd have to be ready for next time. Next time she goes into it again before I even sat down. She used "she" again and I stopped. To this she told me, and I will NEVER forget this. She said that I would have to choose between being a she or a he. She said she didn't care much which one I chose, but I HAD to pick from one of the two. It was sad for me, but easy. I couldn't handle hearing "she" and he didn't fit. I needed talk therapy and badly, but this just broke me. I don't know if I had ever known myself to say no to any adult professional before. I felt horrible, but I had no choice. Nothing inside of me could do what she told me. Angell Then yelled, and I mean YELLED at me, at my face, that I could be a she, a he, or a monster. She went on, getting up from her chair and hovering over me on the couch, just getting more furious. She said I did have one more option, she said that she would call me "it", but only if I knew that "it" meant monster. It was obvious that she would not budge and I tried to just cancel our upcoming booked sessions, but she said I had to pay for the two sessions of co-pays because they were scheduled (1 and 2 weeks away). I paid, but never went back. I called my insurance company to try to get the copays back ($40 each) I was young and did not have enough money to just throw it away. I thought maybe they would help me fight this. No. It was 2009, I was not trying to prove a point, and gender and pronoun conversations did not exist. I didn't anticipate this month long event being important to me. It hurt tremendously, but it was just words. I guess it turns out that when you really need medical direction, and the only person that is available and that I could afford (Angell) repeatedly calls you a monster, it burns badly. I tried to seek mental health care after that, but while I NEEDED the care, I guess that when a "medical professional" is yelling at you to just pick one while I was dissociating and rocking, begging her to stop, well, it left a mark. I looked for help for 5 years before I was able to consider going back to therapy. And only then because I found a therapist that was willing, able, and supportive enough to move forward, often carrying me, inch by inch. Life was so very hard and dangerous because of Jimmye Angell. I have reached out since, she has never apologized.
