I've been with CenturyLink for many years and recently moved in to an apartment that provides their own Internet. I went online (because you can't talk to anybody in person) to cancel my account. I was told that, because I was two days past the cut off date for billing, I would have to pay the entire month - despite not using their service - plus the new increase of $5 (so $80!) added this month.
