Opened all year long... in the Winter, this is an oasis. The bar crowd is wonderful and friendly. The meals are stunning. I've visited Goodfellos many times and find it always consistant. The quality of the food is great and the menu is very diverse. Pizzas are ok but the dinners and salads are really where they shine. Not a place to pass by, this is a must see. read more

The food was good but the service was absolutely atrocious. I'm a waitress and a bartender so I give servers a lot of slack because I know how stressful it can be but this was just over the line. There were two of us, me and my boyfriend we were out for our anniversary. We started out by asking the waiter what non alcoholic beverages they had because the menus we were given only had wines on it and I'm not old enough to drink, he told us they 'don't have any of those' so I said we'll have waters. But the table next to us had ice teas and lemonades so when he came back I asked for a pink lemonade which he brought to me which was weird because he said they didn't have any non alcoholic beverages, but we kind of ignored it. We got two steaks and a chicken Caesar salad, pretty simple right? I guess not because it took 45 minutes for the salad to come out and an hour and a half for our steaks, no I'm not kidding. We ate and when I asked to see a manager I was told there "wasn't one on Monday's" so we paid and left. We later came back to get a piece of cake I heard one of the other servers talking about because it sounded good. I went in and picked it up and asked the bartender if there would be a manager on the next day that I could call, she then told me that there was a manager on shift today and I could talk to him if I like (so we were blatantly lied to). So the manager came out and I told him that the food was good but the service really ruined our meal, I also explained that I'm a waitress so I know how stressful it can be but an hour and a half for two steaks and 45 minutes for a salad was a little ridiculous, and this is the part that really got me, he looked me in the face and told me "what do you want me to do about it" and then proceeded to explain how their restaurant is "going through a shit time right now" (so he cursed to me, which you should NEVER do do a customer, especially one who's being extremely kind and understanding, keep in mind I didn't care about a refund I just wanted them to know because feedback is good) He proceeded to talk down to me as if I was stupid, asking over and over again what I expect him to do, shutting down every statement I threw at him even when I told him that I don't expect him to do anything but accept the criticism and take the feedback. I took my cake and left getting into my car in tears because this man had just made me feel completely useless as a human being, and talked to me as if I wasn't an adult. I am not one to write a raving review on a bad experience but this just completely ruined our night, I would not recommend this restaurant at all... read more

We've been here a few times in the past and the food is excellent. However, our visit today was marred by very poor and inattentive service. Our waitress, A****l disappeared at one time for over a half an hour. A drink order went unfilled and after seeing people who had come in well after us, eating their entrees, I approached our waitress and got the "deer in headlights" look because it was then clear she had forgotten to place our order. She tried to cover saying they were up in 4 minutes, and after another 15 we had our entire order and apps and drink fairly well all at the same time. The place was not very busy, yet the manager who seated us at 1pm never seemed to notice that at 2:15 we were still sitting their looking around trying to make eye contact with someone to help us. The server, of course, took no ownership at all, which was unfortunate. I spoke to the manager on the way out, and while she professed concern and sadness that she had not known; I had to remind her that nobody had ever come to check on us. Went here for dinner with friends. Had the Bruschetta for an appetizer. It was amazing. We got the bianco, bianco pizza it was okay. I also got the chicken bruschetta pizza special, waste of money. I took my dad to Goodfellos a couple weeks ago mostly because I love it. My dad is a very picky eater so I was nervous that he wouldn't like any of the specialty pizzas. Goodfellos has the option to create your own pizza and he chose mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. After eating half his pizza he said it was one of the best pizzas he's ever had, even better than a local delivery shop he loves and normally is the only place he gets pizza from. We researched restaurants in the area and read about $2 wine Wednesday. Who could resist $2 wine and pizza? Wine was good and the pizza selection is quite exotic and quite delicious. We got the House salad with artichokes and prosciutto. Excellent choice. I highly recommend it. read more

I was very disappointed in this place. My first problem was the experienced bar tender was rude, she stared at me a few times as I sat at the bar and never took my drink order, a second bartender whom was in training finally came my way and starting serving me. The bartender in training was very nice and professional but I did not care for the bartender that was training her, she even seemed rude to her coworker that she was training. Second, I came here because of the good pizza reviews but was disappointed and the pizza did not live up to the reviews. I travel weekly and have eaten all kinds of pizza, I love anything from frozen pizza to Neapolitan pizza so I am fairly easy to please, but this place... has trash pizza. They prepare the pizza in the open near the bar and look to have a nice enough wood oven, but their pizza was very basic, comparable to a bowling alley quality pizza. Stopped here on the way up to Montreal. The food was decent enough, I'd give 3 stars for the food. Between us, our party had chicken parmesan, ravioli, and a pizza. The highlight of the meal was the spinach that came on the side, overall not bad, but certainly not good. However, our service was terrible, thus the two star rating. Dirty utensils, as well as a dirty wine glass. Our waitress was not very attentive either. Overall, I would not come back and do not recommend this restaurant. My husband surprised me with dinner at Goodfellos on Valentine's Day. I have to say that I was skeptical at first because we usually have very different tastes but I LOVED it! The food was delicious! Scallops perfectly cooked, wine perfectly chilled and creme perfectly bruleed! We had an absolutely wonderful server who did a fantastic job turning into more than just a dinner, into an experience! Have recommended to several people and will definitely be repeat customers! I'd give more stars if it was an option! read more

Very disappointing! We waited over an hour for our food (while the table of 8 who ordered after us got theirs) without so much as a crust of bread, only to be told that one of our orders was never submitted to the kitchen. If we didn't mind waiting, it would be submitted then. A weak apology and an offer of free dessert was the waitress' answer to the problem. The other food was just okay and definitely overpriced. $93 for 3 people, with no alcohol and no desserts. We also sat in the same room as the "kitchen" with poor ventilation. Very hot and smoky. Our calamari and bruschetta starters were delicious - especially the fried cherry peppers! Pizza was good. The major issue we had was the fettuccini with bolognese sauce ($19) which was practically inedible due to tasting like creamy tomato soup with chunks of sausage added. I am NOT picky, actually I will eat and enjoy basically anything, but this recipe was somehow bland and off-flavor. I don't know what the problem was, but it seemed like either someone messed up the recipe OR they need to think hard about why their bolognese sauce is mostly heavy cream with a little tomato added. We would absolutely eat here again, as 3/4 of our meal was excellent. But would love to see them fix the bolognese! read more

The food was excellent. It was rich but not heavy. The service was relatively poor. The waiter was not impolite, but inattentive and curt. We spent 15 minutes sitting at an empty table before he came over. I don't know the waiter's name because the first thing he said was "what can I get you?" This was the theme throughout the entire dinner. We noticed other tables had loaves of bread, but our food had come out by then. When asked, the waiter said he didn't forget, but only brings it out if we ask for it. It's either a ridiculous cost-cutting measure, or laziness. read more

I was in town visiting my girlfriend and asked her for a good place to grab a quick pizza. The food was mediocre at best but the service is what drove me to writing the review. I was told by one of her friends not to go there because they essentially made her quit due to the way they treat their employees and one step further their customers. I have never regretted giving a business my money more than Goodfellos. The owner is extremely rude and for future visits I never plan on going there again. read more

Visiting in town and was really excited to try their wine and pizza! We had checked in with our name but ended up waiting much longer than let on, and a few smaller tables were seated before us. We only had a party of 2 with a high chair. We asked multiple times for water and it took asking a different waitress to help. The waitress was also new, apparently, and misinformed us on our order so in turn we paid for something we shouldn't have. We were made fault for it. Then the waitresses had just left. We were done and left as well after that. Not a good first impression whatsoever especially visiting from across the country and hearing good things. Don't think I'll be back. read more

I've been here many times and have yet to be let down. My favorite dish is the personal pizza with pear and balsamic, I sub goat cheese instead of gorgonzola since I can't have cow's milk, pair it with a nice glass of Cabarnet and I am in heaven. The food is delicious and the setting is gorgeous. It has been the perfect place to go with my girlfriends and for a romantic and fun night out with my husband. The staff is always kind and helpful and the bartender and the owner always say hello and are genuinely interested in our experience. I love that! read more

Completely bad experience from start to finish last night. The place was packed, which is obviously a good sign. After waiting 25 minutes because they don't take reservations, we were given a seat outside on the rear patio. Unfortunately we were given the table right next to the exit door, and directly under a speaker so conversation was limited. The patio was missing a few pavers, so our chairs would slip between the cracks of the pavers if moved. Three times we sent back our water because it tasted like mold. One at our table ordered a pizza without onions, only to have a heaping pile of onions delivered. I don't want to be mean, but if you can't take an order without writing it down.... write it down. I'd rather you looked less impressive but got the order right. read more

Today (Sept 2,2018/Labor Day Weekend) we drove up from Syracuse to Goodfellos to grab a bite to eat since it was an all around beautiful day. We have been visiting the Sackets Harbor area for many years whether it was taking my son fishing, grabbing lunch with my Dad and Mom, or grabbing a dinner with my wife. This past winter we also attended the Whoville celebration. Well unfortunately, the dinner experience at Goodfellos was terrible to say the least. The only good thing was we were seated quickly upon entering the restuarant and the waitress Schuyler (unknown spelling) took our drink requests as well as our order of appetizers . We were then served our drinks and appetizers within a reasonable amount of time. After that it went downhill and I mean the worst service ever. The waitress never got us water. After we finished our appetizers, our dishes sat their for approximately 30 minutes before being removed by our waitress. It should be noted that while our empty appetizer dishes sat there, our waitress walked by our table numerous times (7-8 times) without clearing our table. Besides that, every time our waitress walked by our table empty handed, she made no effort in grabbing our dirty dishes. After sitting there for approximately an hour waiting to be served our dinner and after bringing it to the attention of our waitress that we were waiting for our dinner, our waitress kept saying unfortunately you didn't order pizza and that's why you see other people being served their food before us. We then were approached by our waitress that our dinner was being plated and that we would have our dinner in a couple minutes. Fifteen minutes later and after our waitress had walked by our table a few times, we grabbed our waitress to see once again what the delay was in getting our dinner and of course she replied it's coming. We then told her to get our bill so we could pay for our drinks and appetizers at which time she handed over our bill. After paying our bill, we spoke to manager and brought our concerns about the service and the lengthy delay of getting our dinner, and he replied, that our order was placed by our waitress at 7:19 pm when in fact we arrived at the restaurant at around 6:20 pm and placed our order with our waitress at around 6:35pm. The manager was not very helpful and did not look into the matter to see why our order was placed at 7:19 pm and in no way did he apologize for the poor service and the lengthy delay of our dinner. What happen was that our waitress PROBABLY forgot to place our order and after we had brought it to her attention regarding the delay of our dinner, she placed our dinner order. The sad thing about this experience is that neither the waitress or the manager could admit to the mistake. VERY SAD. If they had came to us and said we are sorry but we forgot to place your dinner order, we would ve said no problem. I know one thing, I will be talking about this experience for a long time with family and friends and will NEVER recommend this restuarant to anyone. Dan D. read more

What a great little pizza place and bar for the North country. Fabulous pizza, perfect location over looking the harbor. They keep long summer hours, even for the kitchen, not just the bar. Awesome localish craft beer selection, full bar, wine. Really wonderful small town atmosphere and the town itself is just gorgeous. Our bartender was from LA, which was a little jarring at first but what a great bartender. In summary, love letter from me to Goodfellos. read more
