This is where my (now) wife & I had our first date, 33 years ago. I remember our first meal, & all the doggy boxes we left with. The medium or large Antipasto is always a "must have". The food is always just excellent, always cooked right, & always 5 quality. The servers are always alert & always very helpful (so please tip them because they really do hustle to provide a memorable evening for you.). This restaurant is 4 generations of (the Sborro) family run restaurant. We always sit in this booth. We remember back when there was a fish tank next to it, now where the curtains are located. Art's is the best! We've been going there 29 years and have never been disappointed. Steak, seafood, pasta, it's all done perfectly and the staff are friendly & professional. Took us years to try their pizza because we'd go there with that intention but then they'd have a dinner special we'd just have to try! I had a few people recommending this place for dinner and rightfully so my seafood platter was delicious the staff was beyond pleasant and had great recommendations. The location has ample parking comfortable decor a bar ...takeout in the back just for their pizza. I normally do not make room for deserts but in this case I sure did ; I wasn't disappointed by their tiramisu yummy. Three people in our party has the prime rib! Really great mashed potatoes as well as a nicely done piece of meat. I had the special chicken Marsala pasta dish of the night and it was prepared well. There was absolutely no flavor at all & the dressing literally tasted like thick milk. Never in my life have I had ranch that you cannot even flavor profile bc it has 0 flavor. We spent a month upstate this summer. Our visit to Art's was one of the trip highlights. We were Art's "virgins" having never eaten there before. I found out we were pregnant and wanted celebrate a nice dinner together. Could have sworn our friends that moved to Washington recommended this place. However, we were so disappointed. My scampi had raw seafood in it and my pasta at such an awful after taste. My husbands food was quite greasy and for the place to be such fine dining, I thought we would have a great time enjoying good food. That was not the case at all. With how our food experience went, the staff was complete opposite! The manager even apologized and offered to take the meal off of our bill due to such an inconvenience. We moved here a couple months ago and have been making our way around town, trying pizza and wings. Art's is our 5th go at local pizza. Our last duty station was on the west coast. Our favorite pizza place was a local, farm-to-table, type wood fired pizza. Art's is not that. Art's is the best square pie since this Brooklyn girl left home, more years ago than I care to count, where I was spoiled with L&B Spumoni Gardens. Any fellow displaced Brooklynites probably know what I'm talking about and, if that's you, and you haven't tried Art's yet, fix that now. I don't eat wings, but both my husband and son enjoyed the hot flavor. It was at the top of hubby's tolerance, but right in my teen's sweet spot. But, let's not forget the tiramisu. Lucious. Sinful. Perfect. My taste buds wanted a serving 3x as big. My hips thank you for the size it comes. I'm still looking for a place to scratch my left coast pizza itch, but mama mia! Back in town for the holidays, always have to eat at the family favorite spot. How ever what a mistake, place has turned to a dump. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries, came bare no lettuce, tomatoe, nothing, not even a drop of ketchup. Ordered a large pizza, it was burnt black. Just checked this dump of my list of places to visit. I lived in Watertown NY for 30 years. And one of the go to places for Italian Food was Art's Jug, a well established Italian restaurant for many years. The pasta dishes and pizza's were top shelf. I've been away from Watertown NY for 14 years, and tonight 07/17/2021, I took my wife, daughter, her husband and my grandson. Bragging to my kids how great the food was at Art's. Well, that never happened. First, we call for reservations a little after 6 p.m. and made reservations for 6:30 p.m. We arrived at Art's at 6:25 p.m., and were told we'd be seated shortly. Ruffly at 6:45 p.m., we were seated at our table. Art's was busy, but that wasn't unusual. We waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came and took our drink order. Ruffly 10 minutes later we got our drinks and placed a order. Appetizer, garlic knots, four entrees, Lasagna, spaghetti with chicken, kids cheese pizza and a smedium pepperoni pizza. Another 10 to 15 minutes passed before we received our garlic knots. So now it's been 40 minuets and no food. The time now it is ruffly 7:30 - 7:35 p.m., I asked the waitress about how much longer for our food, her response was, "shortly, I will go check". At at 8:15 p.m., still no food. So now it was time to leave, a hungry 2 year old and 4 adults. I have never had this bad of service from any restaurant, and I never expected it from Art's Jug. The response from the management was anything but apologetic, and a lack of explanation for poor service and delay. I'm afraid I will never patronize Art's Jug again. I'm just one customer, and apparently my opinion or business is not going to be missed there. read more

Had our first meal ever at Art's Jug. The interior and vibe of the establishment met our expectations in that it has a good, solid, local feel and it doesn't try to be the chain restaurant it isn't. Our server's name was Nancy (according to the receipt), very pleasant, courteous and attentive. She was able to banter without it feeling contrived. My grandfather would describe her as a good ol' gal. The food was very good. I had bacon wrapped scallops with an amazing sweet chili sauce. The salad that comes with the entree was fresh and plentiful. I opted for the Chicken Cordon Bleu because they were out of the Chicken Michael (something) that looked like it would be amazing but they were out of it. At least I was given a heads up right from the start. The Alfredo sauce on the Chicken Cordon Bleu was very, very good. I'm a North Country boy at heart (even though I don't live in the North Country anymore) and Art's Jug is a great place to go in Watertown. read more

Went on a Sunday at 5:30pm. Got ignored at the front door by the hostess in tall boots. Eventually walked to the bar. The bar was out of just about everything, both beer & liquor. Atmosphere was dreary to say the least. Got a cocktail & there wasn't enough for a second drink? Prices are high but we know why. Lots of the older crowd here... Bacon wrapped Scallops were cold in the middle but luckily we didn't get sick. Only reason for three stars was the awesome anti pasta salad we got for $15. read more

Our medium bacon pizza was missing part of a slice, our garlic knots were burnt, and the large pizza was burnt around the edges. Not just a little bit, but half and whole slices. Attempted to resolve this with management and we were accused of lying. They refused to make things right. If you enjoy wasting $29 go on a Sunday pizza special plus garlic knots, go for it.
