Dr Perilstein is a life saver!…read more 6 months ago I began seeing her during a very difficult time in my life. Quite frankly I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel... I didn't have a day without crippling anxiety and it drive me to depression. Doctor Perilstein, with a large dose on genuine care and a small dose of comedy, began treating me. She quickly began focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy as a means to train myself on how to be "my old happy self" again. But it felt like Joanne didn't think I was allowed to evolve? It got weird, where I would get anxious before my session and it felt like an appointment made to a weekly fight. A weekly fight that led to another fight with my partner. When I realized that, I stopped seeing her. I think she was great for crisis stabilization and getting me through a divorce, but I outgrew her when things stabilized in my life after that.
