CASA was a fun organization to be a part of mainly due to Dr. F's enthusiasm, passion and new ideas on making students aware of substance abuse. I was a peer educator and Dr. F trained us to do workshops, intervention and reach out to students at TU on the issues of drug and alcohol use. He was one of the most accessible and easy going professors that I knew. I often found myself talking to Dr. F about things I was going through because he was so easy to talk to. Respectively, I could tell he wasn't a stranger to the crazy college lifestyle (partying, relationship woes, family struggles, work balance, etc) I was living and he never made me feel "less than" or like he didn't get it. Dr. F always just got it. I think Dr. F would be a great therapist for anyone wanting to explore the role addiction serves in his or her world. If you're ready to make a change, Dr. Frank is who I would suggest.

If you need help learning a language, you would look for a language teacher (which by the way, Olga has taught Spanish), or if you need help with your taxes, you would ask an accountant, or if you need to improve your tennis game, you would get a tennis coach. Similarly, she is there as a life coach to help you improve any area of your life (relationships, career, health, etc.) Why reinvent the wheel? She's done most of the research for you already. Olga will also be very frank, and tell you what you may not want to hear, but need to hear. That is what will get you out of your comfort zone, so that you can take actions to make the positive change you desire. TLDR- it's fantastic…read more This is a long review... I have been to many therapists for trauma work but no practice has helped me the way Therapy for Women has. I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Over all: I really think this practice is something special and I am SO happy I found it when I did.

Rather than other CSA (community supported acupuncture) clinic's practice of the 5 minute chat, and then generally hitting some of the usual points, she will talk to you throughout the process, finding the exact points that have an impact on your problem. If I could give her 6 stars, I would. I recommend Laura to anyone who's nervous about acupuncture as well. Her chipper mood and demeanor make you feel like you can tell her anything -- very important if you need to talk about any old issues/injuries that might be uncomfortable to talk about with a stranger. Add to this that her location is so ridiculously convenient, and you've found your acupuncturist. She has 'open room' days (shared acupuncture room with other people who are generally asleep or otherwise don't bother you if you don't bother them) as well as a private practice. I can't recommend her enough.

The very first time I visited Laura at Open City, I realized she had the absolute best tableside manner that I've ever encountered. She genuinely cares about her patients and their wellbeing. I've gone elsewhere because it was cheaper a few times, but it was ultimately a waste of time and money because I didn't leave with the same results, and because, honestly, I missed Laura. The space is quiet and comfortable, easy to access, but most importantly, the treatment is effective coupled with top notch, friendly service. You can't go wrong here.
