3.5 Stars, but rounding up to 4 Stars.
A new shawarma truck has arrived in the neighborhood and you just can't miss it - it's gigantic! I was hesitant to try it since I'm a huge fan of Habiba (right across the street) but I was curious, so why not?
My usual go-to dish at these food trucks is the mixed combo of lamb and chicken over rice, so that's what I ordered at Good Eats Grill. At $9.99, this dish is much more expensive than at other trucks (usually $6-$7). Instead of the usual "pressed" meat, Good Eats Grill used "real" meats. Honestly, the flavors of the meats were good but the meat was hard and tough. Maybe it needed to be cooked longer? Not sure. The rice was standard and I liked the salad (mixture of leafy greens and spinach). I asked for white sauce and hot sauce, but somehow, the hot sauce got left out. Good thing I had asked for extra hot sauce on the side as well! Also, the menu states that this platter is "serve with rice, humus and salad" but there wasn't any humus in it.
Overall, my meal was good but not great at $9.99. I'm glad I tried it but I'll probably return to Habiba the next time I'm jonesin' for chicken/rice. read more
