I want to really love this place I do but every time I've been here the customer service has been subpar. Upon entry I feel completely unwelcome. The employees in the supplements area are generally much nicer and helpful. Today I went for their anniversary sale. They had a wheel to be spun but the employee just looked at me when I walked up and said I had to purchase something first before spinning and that they will be there until 7:30. That was weird considering everyone else got to spin before entering but whatever. As I was in line to check out I noticed they were shutting down the table despite saying they should be up until 730 and it was only 7. The cashier was helping a regular customer which I understand bc she was elderly even calling for assistance to help her bring her groceries to her car. However she completely left the register to help her put the raffle tickets in the boxes without even letting me know or telling me she would be back. I stood there like a chump for a good 5 minutes. I had unloaded everything onto the conveyor belt already spending over $350 over the past two days. Only after the other cashier called her back did she return without an apology. If this is how you treat customers I will for sure not be returning. read more

I loved this store all the local grains,beans and vegetables they had available was just amazing. The service was great!! The ambiance kinda reminded me a local farmers market. It was just so cool. People really should be paying more attention to what they eat the more they do that the more their body will repay you with feeling so good. read more

I'm not sure about the food but the service is amazing. They really know what they are selling and will give you any info you need on supplements. It's a pretty cool store they got a lot of different health food stuff as well. Highly recommend. I get my lions mane and a couple other supplements there. read more

Update- After the employee response below , I've emailed twice more. STILL can't get a response from these people! I guess the responses are to give the illusion of customer service. Absolutely the worst store experience ever! Avoid this place. I got scammed out of $200 the other day.. Ordered delivery - These are times THEY offer, mind you. It's anytime within one hour windows , mine was set for 1-2pm. For more context, the store is about 6 or 7 minutes down the road. Even though the place is more than whole foods for exact same items, I figured I'd give it a try, to see if it's an option for something closer. After 2pm rolled around, I tried texting the number back, tried calling. No response. So I finally emailed, letting them know my delivery window already well passed, that I assumed it wasn't coming since I'd received no updates or "late " messages, that I couldn't wait any longer ,so to please send the confirmation of cancelation. Welp, half an hour or so after I left, I get a message from DoorDash (I didn't even know this is who they used for delivery) saying "some bags are missing, I'll be back ". Huh?! Long story short, I get home 4 hours later, to my delivery. On top of the entire hassle of it tp begin with, literally ALL of the produce is rotten. I mean.. ROTTEN. Sprouted onions, sprouted mushy potatoes, slimy broccoli and chives. It was food that should never be being sold. The temp controlled items were now bad either way since they'd sat out, but a lot of them were expired anyhow! 2 days later, I still haven't received any type of response. When it comes to grocery stores I am most concerned with the chocolate selection (no, I'm not kidding), so let's start with that. Good Earth carries some specialty brands not easily found elsewhere including Tcho, Alter Ego, Vosges, Tony's Chocolonely, and the entire line of Chocolove Bars (an excellent CO-based company specializing in traditional and creative flavors). They also have bagged Marich candies and a bulk section which (along with pantry and baking staples, granola, specialty grains (blue cornmeal!), nuts, and dried fruits) offers some treats, most importantly dark chocolate honeycomb. Lastly, they have a huge variety of alternative sweeteners (they were the only local store I could find that carries powdered Swerve), as well as prepared sweets like (keto friendly) Lily's and Lakanto chocolate bars. If you are not an uncontrolled candy fanatic there is plenty for you here too. They have a small organic produce section, dried fruits and nuts, cheese, ice cream, tons of nut milks, grind your own nut butters, chips and other snacks, specialty oils and vinegars, and household cleaning supplies. They carry delicious baked goods including Abigail's Bakery bread, which is local and amazing (Cheddar Jalapeno is life changing, trust). They have Hydroflask bottles at lower-than-suggested retail prices. Their essential oil selection is huge. They are the only place nearby that sells local Nature's Fusions along with their own line, and at least two other common brands. They have incense and a variety of bath and body products and candles. Their vitamin and supplement selection is extensive, even featuring CBD oil and related products. And after all that that they even have adorable houseplants! Basically, you will find most anything a normal grocery store would carry, only it's healthier/local/specialty/cooler. Their regular prices are high, but their sale prices can be as much as (or more than) 50% off. Employees are always so so sweet and friendly. The store is well organized and clean. They offer free classes and seminars on a variety of topics. I most recently attended a great one on sourdough baking. Natural grocery stores, once relegated to hippies, have become one of my go-to shopping spots. What is happening? Am I getting old? Just uncool? While Good Earth will never be the store at which I do the majority of my shopping, it holds a permanent place in my grocery rotation, and hasn't yet let me down when searching for any specific all-natural type product. read more

I love the food that they have here! This is a cool small run business with locations only in Utah from what I've seen and have read about them. The food was definitely more costly than Sprouts or Natural Grocers. That was a bummer but other than that they did have an exclusive collection of food I could eat. I have strict allergy issues so I don't eat dairy, gluten, or meat other than fish. It definitely accommodated all my needs except the price tag seemed to be a lot more than the other places for the goods I got. They did have alter eco chocolates which are like those wrapped rich chocolates with the gooey center. Alter eco is a vegan version of that and its gluten free and they use coconut milk for the creaminess. So dang good! read more

Now that I have the special diet, the first thing I do when I land in a new town is head straight from the airport to the nearest well-stocked health food store. I had searched the Yelp reviews for the area, and Good Earth seemed to be my best bet on my way from SLC to Alta Ski Resort. I found everything on my list, including: unrefined salt, coconut oil, sweet potatoes, tea that didn't contain "natural flavors," and freshly ground peanut and almond butters. I let my hubby work the grinder. He loves that sort of thing. The one thing that disappointed me is that I was hoping for some 100% grass fed steak, as I'd be in town for an entire week. The meat section was very small, and they confessed that they were all out of steak. So I ended up going to an ordinary grocery store for some feedlot beef. If you are not relying on Good Earth as your main source of protein, this is the type of place where you could get all of your healthy foods in one stop. I want to like this place, but I don't. First, the prices are exceedingly high. I understand this is a smaller chain and these are the prices they need to charge to turn a profit--all the same, if you're on a budget, or simply prefer to avoid outrageous prices, you can get the same things for half the price at Sprouts. That said, my biggest gripe was their refusal to do what was right and have their employees and guests wear masks. We were at the height of the pandemic over this summer and I swung into the store for a quick shop, and I found NONE (not a single one) of the employees in masks. Additionally, they weren't requesting it of guests. I can only imagine this eventually was corrected by the Health Dept. because I did peek in some months later to see if they were still up to their icky ways, and everyone was masked appropriately, with the exception of a few ignorant shoppers. This is the opposite of a health store. It's an unhealth store. If management couldn't get it together to follow the recommendations of the CDC to protect themselves and their guests, I don't trust their other business practices, either. read more

The supplement area in particular has been rude and I'll informed on their products consistently. While not respecting the wellness of customers is enough of a reason to stay away,adding arrogance assures that I will never shop here again. Just moved here and I used to shop only at sprouts back home but the sprouts here are not as good. With that said I'm so glad I found this place... they have a great bulk section, SO MANY herbs, overall way better than going to whole foods. Never crowded. I don't get all my fruits/veges here because the selection isnt the best/cheapest- thats the only downside. (Urban fruit stand is close by so I try to swing by there before and see what they have in stock for my fruits/veges) Hope this helps someone like myself trying to find where to shop when your a health nerd. read more

I won't be patronizing this store any more. Sad. All because of the manager's lack of customer service skills. She was downright rude and disrespectful. A man was in the store for quite some time without a mask. Masks are currently mandated. This review isn't to debate the efficacy of mask wearing. I brought to the manager's attention that the man wasn't wearing a mask and it's mandated. Her response was that he can't wear one. When I asked why, she said he has breathing issues. Science has already disproved that and her response to me was, "You should be concerned with yourself and he'll be concerned with himself." Um, I am concerned about myself. That's why I WEAR A MASK! I also do it because it's the humane thing to do and IT'S A MANDATE - LAW! If the person needed some kind of special treatment, I'm sure it could have been worked out between them. He could have stayed in his car and gotten curb service. The manager was not only breaking the law, but compromising the health of all of the other patrons in the establishment. Great store! Being accustom to perfect natural food stores in Eugene Oregon, we must travel around to get what we need while in Salt Lake City. The rating is based on the fact that it's in Utah as it still falls short by Oregon standards but we are in Utah! I am rating accordingly but without reservation. I happily drive 45 min one way to shop at this place. Why? Not only do they have a very knowledgeable staff about supplements, but also a great selection of things you don't find at many other places. They are friendly, happy and a real health food store that believe in the power of boosting your health and immune system the natural way. Family owned which is a huge plus. Went and called to several place in the SLC to find the oils needed to treat a friend's skin allergy. I was then referred to Good Earth Natural Foods. Wow, they have a great selection of oils, herbs, supplements, food products. We found the oils needed with the desired purity. The woman in the supplement area was helpful and knowledgeable about their products. I'll definitely return when I am in the SLC area. read more

Just wanted to make some comments about the good Earth in Sandy it's the only one in salt Lake County and I buy supplements I can't find anywhere else I appreciate it that there is a store I can get that stuff and the staff in the back helps you with supplements are pretty knowledgeable and helpful. But I have to say that Every time I've gone in there The rest of the staff aren't really as friendly I almost feel like they're watching me like I'm gonna steal or something which I'm not and I spend a lot of money in that store. I usually run over there when I am on my way to the gym or coming home maybe I don't look the part of a usual shopper,but I do my part of spending money there to help keep them in business and in our area. I used to live in Utah county and all the good are down there were much friendlier overall. I also wish you would revamp your point system a little bit for loyalty customers, I think we should get points for buying anything in that store even if it's on sale Like you do at Smith's to get fuel points. I mean everything in there is very expensive anyway I get that good supplements are expensive but Sometimes your stuff is pretty overpriced And I would probably buy more grocery items if they weren't so overpriced. I used to love shopping here, but after today I won't be coming back. I went over to the supplements/personal care section and there were two female employees that made me feel so uncomfortable. I was looking at the products and they kept following me and watching me as if I was a thief. Neither one of them asked me if I needed help finding anything, they just kept watching and following me. It was the strangest thing I ever encountered. I just bought the two things I had in my basket and went to Whole Foods instead. I was so disappointed by the horrible customer service I received today. The cashier seemed to just be miserable with life. I asked her if she had tried these black bean chips? She said, ugh no. I asked if she had heard anything about them. She said, I don't like beans I have no idea. I was just going to get the one item, but after the awful taste she left in my mouth, I told her never mind. She was so confused, definitely not present, her mind seemed to be elsewhee. I'm sorry if she's having a bad day. It didn't seem like that, it semed more like she hated life as much as she hated black beans. I've never been impressed with their customer service. I keep giving them a try every 6 months or so. Good earth is a great place to go for quality healthy food. I love their organic produce although the selection is not huge. Im also a fan of all the snacks that they have. Their employees are nice and helpful. They almost always know where somethings is when i cant find it. And the wellness counselors are helpful when it comes to the supplements and workout products. read more
