I can't believe no one has reviewed this place, because it ROCKS.
This is my favorite chinese food in London, everything is delicious. It is a little pricy and the portions are not large, but the food is tasty, the place is nice, and I've no complaints.
The first time I came here was for a special occasion, and I could see why it was chosen immediately. There is an upstairs that is perhaps a bit more private and has Chinese artwork adorning the walls like they have downstairs. Downstairs always seems full and it's a decent atmosphere.
So let me start with the thing I love the most- soup! I am an unashamed soupaholic and the standard chicken corn soup and hot and sour soup were excellent, but they also had something different on the menu as well that I had to try! Pumpkin soup with scallops? I had never had it, but I'm always up for new things and it was so good I had no reason to be sorry. It's a flavorful soup and thick without being too thick or creamy. Sadly, it is only *one* seared scallop, but it is that good that I just really enjoyed it.
We always have the duck pancakes for starters and I'm not a duck person, but they are good and everyone else I have been with looooves them.
What is the best thing on the menu you may ask? Anything that SIZZLES:) My favorite is the sizzling lamb with scallions which is just so good that thinking about it makes me want to type "mmmmmmm" and nothing else. The sizzling chicken in black bean sauce is also great, and the Singapore noodles are delicately flavored and go well with anything.
I have also committed the great sin of going off menu and asked for salt and pepper prawns and they have always delivered this yummy dish with a smile. And I always leave with a happy tummy and a smile:) read more
