Great service, good prices, and delicious desserts. Every time I go, I always need to get their Pink Conchas!

Tammy K.

Oh wow, we were so not expecting the cake that we got... this was literally amazing and also the first time we finished ANY cake especially one this big. We ordered 1 month prior to the event, we got a vanilla cake with strawberry preserve and whipped topping. From what I was told they were going to just make the cake ombré with green because my sons party was dinosaur themed. Never did I once expect them to go over and BEYOND with the decorations. When I picked it up I was FLOORED... a VOLCANO?!? ANNND LAKE?!!!? It was so adorable. They knew we were going to decorate with dinosaur toys but I guess they decided to go over and beyond with any of my wildest dreams. Not only did the kids and adults inhale the cake but everyone GUSHED how amazing it tasted. "Not that sweet, it was perfect, the frosting was amazing, what a cute decoration!" Seriously this cake made the party complete. Thank you so much, we're forever loyal! Also, incredibly friendly staff and SUPERB flan! When I picked up the cake I bought some flan and another cake slice and I am NOT disappointed!!!!

Dragon egg cake pops

Jay made us this delicious Dragon cake and Dragon egg cake pops for my son's 6th birthday. Ive been buying cake pops from her for a couple of months because my son loves them so much. The party was last minute, but Jay came to through and made this happen for us. 10/10 recommend!

5" sample lemon pies

This was the best cookie experience of my entire life! OMG good! Croissant cookie extraordinaire! The next set is of the three samples for a lemon meringue pie order. All 3 were delish. So hard to choose!

Smash cake for first birthday

If you are searching for a personalized experience go here! I had them make a smash cake for my grandson using the theme from the book Where the Wild Things Are. They did an amazing job aesthetically and the cake was just the right size.

Outside, more distant view

I had a chocolate & a lemon cupcake. Both were really good. Since some reviews said their cakes were dry I tried a bit without any frosting. Not super moist or flavorful, but doesn't matter as the icing makes the whole package really good. I also had a much larger German chocolate cake. It was really well done, and very moist. Wasn't sure what that cake was, or thought I read their very various kinds, but coconut flakes and pecans is typical and was very good, if you like that flavor on a cake. Their sign on top doesnt say Good Cake, and my google directions said it was on the right so I went that way wondering if there could really be 2 bakeries here. (There aren't;t) Once you pull up in front you will see "good cake bakery" -see photos. So if you are nearby or craving some cake try it out. (My second choice in Portland area so far)

Pretty Carrot Cake

Like many we frequent the same two or three bakeries for birthday cakes. This year I ventured out and am glad I did. The is a Mexican Bakery, so be prepared for goodies different from the norm. The Tres Leches Cake is probably their best seller, maybe order one to complement a "regular" cake for some variety. Speaking of which, they also offer traditional cakes such as German Chocolate, Carrot, etc. The crowd enjoyed the Tres Leches, but the Carrot seemed just a touch dry. I'll go back, but will stick with their specialties. Price points are much lower than popular bakeries such as Ja Civa. If you're used to Safeway and Fred Meyer give this place a try, you'll probably save money. The owner and staff are very nice, the kind of folks you want to see succeed.

Wanted some treats. The cakes with strawberry filling and the chocolate on chocolate cake were very tasty

Cake Hoopla - Party Room

We…read moreappreciated how easy communication with Jojo the owner was and the online booking made it super easy and straightforward. One of the main reasons we wanted to do a party here was that there was a party room and we loved the idea of each child getting to decorate their own cake. We had 11 kids at her party and half got fetti flavor cakes to decorate and the other half had chocolate. They also offer a vegan chocolate option and a gluten sensitive fetti option with no up-charge. The party host was awesome in explaining the process and keeping the kids engaged. We opted to start with apron decorating ($3 per child) for the first 15-20 mins. We also selected for there to be fresh popcorn popped for the kids to eat. All decorators were give a cake, white frosting, 2 other frosting colors (preselected by the birthday girl), 2 fondant colors (preselected by the birthday girl) and 2 sprinkle options (preselected by the birthday girl). All the kids had a blast decorating their cakes. Afterwards the kids had a lot of fun doing photo sessions with the picture booth in the party room. All pictures were sent via a link to me and I was able to share with all the parents post party. We opted to bring in pizza from Costco for the kids which worked out great since it's so close by. I sent a picture of an example of a cake that my daughter liked and Jojo nailed the design. All kids went home with an apron and a custom cake they designed. The party host was great at making sure everyone got a cake box with their name on it. I can't say enough great things about the party at Cake Hoopla. I would highly recommend having your kid's birthday party there.

The people who work here are always so nice. And the shop itself is cuuuuute! So bright and colorful and unless you have a cold dead heart, it will surely put a smile on your face. Below are the goodies that I bought and gifted for being the top 20 customers in line. What I bought: 1. Bunny pudding: SO CUTE! I've seen this trend everywhere and am so glad that they have their own version. It was adorable. For $6.50 I was a bit skeptical because I thought it would be cheaper. However, it was too cute! It was good. Subtle in flavor but the texture was nice. It was thick pudding. I think it took me 2 days to nibble on it with my mom so we could enjoy it. The jam with it WAS AMAZING! I loved the slight tartness to it. The only thing was that the jam was red and it was behind the bunny so it looked...yes...you can be creative there haha. 2. Salted egg yolk cookie. Love salted egg anything and was surprise to see this as a cookie! Love the Asian flavors! It was lovely. It also had a little bit of a leaf on it and it created a little curry flavor taste. I don't know what it is but combined with the salted egg, delicious. It was my first time trying a more savory cookie. Gifted: They also gave me a salted egg yolk cookie which was great, I got 2 haha. 1. Chocolate macaron. I don't really like macarons because they're usually too sweet. However! This was good. Not too sweet and the chocolate flavor was present. It was a good size and it was super cute 2. Matcha macadamia nut cookie. I've had this one before, still good! 3. Brownie chocolate cookie. THIS WAS MASSIVE! Huge~! And yet, still chewy, fudgy, and full of chocolate. Yum! If you're a chocolate lover like me, you'll like this! I will drop by again in the near future!

I was on the look out for some delicious cake. Unique flavors and beautiful decorations just happened to be a perk. Minh, the owner, the matter how busy it gets, is always so personable and enthusiastic. She brought two visions for two of my daughters' birthday themes to life within a reasonable range. One was a Mermaid birthday and the other Avatar themed. Both times we picked a pandan cake layered with pandan buttercream. Wow the structure held up very well after thawing out for a few hours. Cake was incredibly soft and moist without being too sweet. The Asian flavors mixed with a conventional American twist made for the perfect marriage. I really hope this bakery does well. It is such a treat to order cakes here. Will definitely have to try the durian or lychee next time.

I found The Cake Room on Yelp and reached out--and from the very beginning, Leslie was nothing short of incredible.
