I've seen Baklavas with a Mission on Instagram but haven't managed to get to any of her pop ups yet. She's based out of Roseville so I made an order for this weekend when she came down to Elk Grove. You have to pay to reserve your order, and then you'll get the pickup location and timeframe. It was just down the street from my house (and it's a central location for anyone in Elk Grove!) so it was perfect. I ordered the baklava sampler because I wanted to try a little of everything! Pickup only took seconds and she was well prepared! It smelled so great, and I took a bite of one as soon as I got home (after photos of course). The pistachio is great but I think my favorite might be the nutella! Can't wait to order some more of her baklava goodies. I love that she has different plays on the classic baklava, like the baklava cheesecakes and cupcakes. I had this place bookmarked but rarely venture to the Roseville area so when I saw them post they are doing pick ups in the Elk Grove area I put in an order...a fairly large order lol. They were also donating all proceeds to a charity which was beyond amazing, and delivering to your car due to the current COVID situation. I order 2 baklava cheesecakes, a regular baklava pie and a Ferrero Rocher baklava pie. OMG soooo good, I ate almost a whole pie to myself. I am always on the lookout for new/unique places to try food from. I bookmarked Baklavas with a Mission awhile back and was excited to place an order for a baklava sampler (half cinnamon, half pecan pie) and baklava cheesecake for 2021 Thanksgiving. I wanted to request a specific combination for the sampler (rather than going with the pre-selected option) so I did my corresponding and ordering with Baklavas with a Mission over Facebook Messenger. My point of contact was so friendly and helpful. My order was placed over a week from Thanksgiving. Closer to the day the lady who runs things reached out to provide the pickup location and to check/confirm whether I could come pick up my goods at 10am on Thanksgiving Day. On the day of I went to the address that I was provided (elementary school parking lot) and when I saw a few other vehicles there figured that I was in the right place. A few minutes before 10am, Baklavas with a Mission arrived in their van and distributed orders to about 5-10 other customers. Everything was well organized and pre-packaged so the process was pretty quick. Everything that we got was very delicious. The cinnamon and pecan pie baklava were both delicious but between the two I definitely liked pecan pie the most. Everyone at our Thanksgiving dinner also loved the cheesecake. So unique to have baklava and cheesecake together. We were provided a baklava sauce to serve with the cheesecake (with the explanation that some people normally prefer without sauce and others like the sauce). The overall consensus of our group was that the sauce went great with the cheesecake. I would definitely order again in a heartbeat. I love the mission of Baklavas with a Mission. When I picked up my treats I was told that the proceeds from the recent sales would help support getting books for prisoners. Such a nice cause for a great business! read more

Would love to review their product, but unfortunately never received it. Ordered for pick up next day. Unexpectedly an old friend showed up at my house just as I was getting ready to go pick up my order. We got to talking and I lost track of time and missed my pickup window. Despite numerous calls to the business to apologize and to reschedule pickup...I never got a call back. They kept my money and my order. Can't give them one star since I made the first mistake, but I would expect a little more communication at least. read more

Guess I can blame Covid for that. :-) When I saw a pop up in Elk Grove, I had to order! So, so, so good. Two mini cheesecakes (have not tried yet), and one sampler box. Picked up the box 30 minutes ago. Not really hungry, but had to try one, right? Well, I couldn't stop at one! Nutella and Classic are both fantastic!!! Hands down the best Baklavas I have ever eaten. I will ALWAYS order a Baklava if i see one in a restaurant. I have had some so-so ones, and some very good ones. These are the best! And, the price is very reasonable. We ordered a bakala cheesecake, but I didn't tell my husband how I found it! I drove to a gas station and met a woman to pick up the beautiful cake. We had friends over for dinner and after having the cake and loving it they wanted to know where I got it. I told them I found it on Facebook! My husband and guest thought I was crazy.
