We needed an old, brick retaining wall to be rebuilt as it was starting to fall apart. I learned…read morethat drainage holes were never installed and thus it was finally at a point of failing. Eric was recommended by neighbors who had successful work done my him and his crew. Eric is professional, punctual and consistent. The work and clean up was exceptional. They rebuilt the wall and put the proper netting, drainage and bricks in place. My plants were protected as well. I need repainting but I am attaching some proof of great work. We also needed some brick repair on a front yard wall and that was handled nicely as well.

After several years, I got up the nerve to look up contractors who were willing to finish it for us. I'm so thankful to have found Eric and his company, Salazar Masonry Service. Eric was very responsive from the get go. He was thorough in explaining the process and what was needed to complete the job...and then some! Eric's communication was awesome from the first time I reached out. He was professional, friendly, and professional. He let me know the morning of when he was on his way and progress getting here (his commute was 90 minutes away). I got a quote for material and he offered to call and get a better price and then I called in to pay for it. What a kind gesture! He and his crew were timely and efficient. Eric explained the process and showed us what he was going to do. When he ran out of material, he got more and when he charged us for the material and trip, he didn't price gouge. He showed us the receipt for the additional materials and that is what we paid. We couldn't be more happy with job and Eric's professionalism. He is an artist in his craft and what contractors should be: honest! The retaining wall looks amazing and we're thankful that the 5 year chapter of the wall is closed! Pictures to follow!

Not a good experience is an understatement. Spent nearly $40k on a wall that collapsed three days…read moreafter completion. Yes...three days. Two separate structural engineering reports of the wall failure stated he cut corners and had a faulty design. Gary the owner now refuses to refund my money (and I only asked for most of it...not even the whole amount) and said if he rebuilt it for us we'd have to pay for materials. Needless to say we will be pursuing legal action.

We had talked about what I wanted extensively, gave him photos, measurements and so I thought he understood. When his guys started digging the area I realized he was not doing what we discussed at all. Called him immediately to pause work until we could discuss what we had previously agreed upon. Once he pulled out of the job it was impossible to get ahold of him. So he has basically pocketed the deposit. I understand paying some for the materials dropped off and the three hours his guys were there, but certainly not 1/3 of the total expense. Other than that, over the course of working with him he was very difficult to get in touch with. He missed about 7 confirmed appointments. He left a heap of materials in my driveway for two months while I waited for his reply. And the concrete skimming he did on our steps began peeling after two weeks.
