I love GongCha and this was my first time trying this location and am highly disappointed! I ordered the Lemon Ai-Yu and added Aloe to the drink. After a few sips I tasted something very bitter and had to run to the restroom to throw up. Nothing came up except the drink. I brought this to the front desk employee as well as the manager/owner and they told me that they could only give me 50% off of my next drink if I wanted. That was it. No apologies or further inquiry. Blatant denial. I wanted to inform them that maybe the batch was bad and to be careful before serving to the next customer. This is my go to bubble tea place in Cypress since it's conveniently located right in front of my neighborhood!! Delicious and high quality tea!! Plenty of flavors to choose from and the owner is super nice! (She already knows our order whenever we call LOL... that's how often we go here) Good bubble waffles too!!! Expect a 10 mins delay as the waffles are cooked fresh! You can order ahead via phone if you're a regular (like my family and me)! All you have to do is pay once you arrive and the drinks will be ready to be picked up. Sometimes, I skip everyone else (the walk-ins) waiting for their drinks! On April 30th, it's National Bubble Tea Day. I got a free keychain and a free topping of black pearls in my usual go to drink. You have to order 3+ drinks for the free keychain though. My mom usually gets the honey lemon green tea while I get the passion fruit green tea with crystal bubbles. You can also change the sweetness level and I get 100% sweetness. The normal default is 70% sweetness unless asked otherwise. My family has tried almost every single flavor and topping here but we have our favorites that we never get tired of (listed above). My sister and I were even here on their grand opening! (You can say that we are mega fans of this place haha. We discovered this franchise while visiting family in the Philippines so we were SUPER EXCITED when one opened right in front of our neighborhood!!!) There are 2 reserved parking spots in the front. Do take note that it shares a parking lot with the outlet mall and other restaurants. It does get packed on the weekends. WoW, I am utterly disappointed in this specific Gong Cha located on 29110 US-290 suite #250 · (832) 653-2908 across from Houston Premium Outlets. More specifically, I am dumbfounded and infuriated with the store manager for her ignorance, insensitivity, and carelessness. After shopping at Houston Premium Outlets, we took our two nephews to Gong Cha and ordered them two plain Oolong teas. After walking out the door, I saw the labels on the teas, which showed the sugar content at 70%. Surprised that the teas contained sugar, I walked back to the cashier and told her that I didn't know the teas contained sugar and I needed it to be sugar-free since my nephews are diabetics. The young cashier was understanding and ready to help. Surprisingly, the manager shook her head and proceeded to tell us that she couldn't help since I didn't request "no sugar." I told her that I didn't ask for "70% sugar" either. I explained that it's imperative that the teas are sugar-free since the suagr will cause my nephews to go into hyperglycemia. (Since they have diabetes, their bodies can not break down sugar like regular people). The manager (she refused to give me her name) suggested that she remedy the situation by taking back the open drinks, pouring out half of the teas, and adding ice. (NO SUGAR means 0% SUGAR).I reminded her that our mouths have been on the straws, but she seemed content with jeopardizing cross contamination in the working area. I asked her to please make 2 more sugar-free teas, and again, she refused and asked us to be reasonable. The two teas were less than $10, which to us is a modest amount and didn't hurt us, but I would rather trash the teas myself than allow her to think that violating Houston Health Department's rules and regulations is acceptable. According to Houston Health Department: "Food establishment personnel must demonstrate knowledge of food borne disease prevention and the application of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point principles (HACCP)." The manager failed to demonstrate compliance and procedure. We have reported this specific Gong Cha establishment to the Health Department. We will, however, continue to frequent other Gong Cha restaurants like the one in Katy and the one in Tomball. read more

It definitely took me awhile to drive to this location so I'm pleased to say that my drink compensated for the distance! The earl gray milk tea has a distinct floral flavor to it, very light & refreshing. With that said, my one complaint would have to be that despite getting it at 30% sweetness, I personally felt like the tea flavor wasn't strong enough for me. I paired this with the white pearls which was good, but I think regular pearls or herbal jelly would've complimented the drink better. Regardless, it didn't taste watered down (which is an issue many shops have) and I'd definitely recommend it if you're unsure of what to get! I ordered a honey green tea with only 30% sweetener, as I'm not a fan of super sweetened tea. I order this at every boba facility as it's my go-to. While waiting quite a while for my order the rep was having what looked to be a disagreement with a customer and her drink. When I got my drink it tasted like liquid candy- that's how sweet it was AFTER adjustments. I felt guilty asking for my drink to be remade as she already had a stressful encounter. She looked aggravated to speak with me and when I told her that my drink was really sweet, even when I adjusted. Instead of fixing the error her and her coworker argued with me and stated that it's just gonna taste like that because of the honey. She just concluded that she just needed to add more tea ... it's still a tad too sweet but I didn't wanna bother arguing. Don't go here. read more

My mom, sister, and I stopped by here to get boba after trying to stop by Moge Tee, but they were closed for employee appreciation day. Many boba shops have been opening in Cypress lately, and there is a lot to choose from. I got a strawberry milk slush, which was almost the same as any other strawberry smoothie or slush but good still. My mom's taro slush was not all that and, if I remember, was a bit too sweet. The ambiance was nice, and the service was not bad, so I wouldn't mind going back if I want to get boba in Fairfield and Moge Tee is closed. read more

It's nice seeing boba places pop up in the cypress area. They have a unique variety of drinks that I believe can satisfy people from different teas to slushies. The customer service there was good and friendly and it may seem like it is at a busy location being near the outlet mall, but doesn't seem to have any issues with parking. They do have seasonal drinks here and there so pay attention to their social media to see what new stuff they have. While it's basically the same set up as other locations around Texas...this one is located right next to the Houston Premium Outlets! Staff was very friendly! In a really good area as you can get some drinks after or before you go shopping since it is very near the outlet! Drinks were made in a timely manner and were exceptionally delicious. We went during soft opening and the owner came out and greeted many customers! I ordered a strawberry slush made with soy milk and that was pretty good and not too tart! I wish I had ordered tea too since this IS Gongcha... The area is very spacious and the wall decoration is cute and simple! During this time, they have glass windows that will keep the customer and the staff contact to a minimal and a trash can that is motion sensed (no touching). Could not detect any tea. I was quite disappointed and did not expect this from Gong Cha. Perhaps they didn't brew their tea long enough. This has been my favorite tea spot so far. The service here is super fast and nice. I love the decor inside and the seating. The reason I give this place 5 stars though has to be because of the selection of drinks. This place has hundreds of drinks to choose from for every kind of pallet. I also highly recommend the waffle cones as they are a perfect pairing for any tea. Finally a unique bubble tea place in Cypress! I love the flavors that Gong Cha has. Today is their soft opening and all drinks are 20% off. I had a very warm welcome during my visit. As for drinks, I ordered milk foam dirty brown sugar milk tea and the mango milk slush. The brown sugar milk tea was so delicious. The mango milk slush was refreshing. The interior has some nice wall decor including a map/timeline and the process of making tea. They will be adding bubble egg waffle soon. Also more drink menu options will be added. Had a very eye opening experience in Gong Cha at Houston Premium Outlets today. I ordered Milk Foam Vietnamese Coffee, a drink that I have ordered many times in other Gong Cha locations around houston. I took literally one sip of the drink and immediately did not like it. Coffee tasted watered down and milk foam was practically nonexistent. Other Gong Cha locations would make this drink creamy but my drink was very watery. Being an avid boba drinker, you sometimes get bad drinks from time to time. No big deal. I went back to the store and asked for them to make me another drink. The cashier then brought a lady from the back named Katie Nguyen which I presumed was the manager. I returned my basically full cup (minus one sip) and explained to her how I did not like my drink and would like to get an new one. She was very adamant and absolutely refuses to make me another drink, regardless the explanation given to her and the fact that my cup was literally full. I explained to her how I have ordered this in other Gong Cha locations and liked it, but she absolutely would not accept any complains for her drink. She claims that her location makes drinks exactly per the recipe given by corporate. She absolutely could not understand how bad drinks can be unintentionally made and implies that her employees are absolutely impeccable in making consistent drinks. This woman (Katie Nguyen) should never be in service industry and I am completely baffled with her situation handling, or lack thereof. I am surprised how such an egocentric manager exists and surprised the store lasts this long. Basically f*** me if your employee makes a bad drink right? From the stark contrast of their Milk Foam Vietnamese Coffee compared to other Gong Cha locations, I feel like they aren't using ingredients given by the franchise. Katie Nguyen should stop acting like her drinks are perfect and employees never make mistakes. read more

Literally the best Boba I've ever had! Let me explain their process so you get where I'm coming at: - They throw out their tea and make a new batch every 4 hours to keep everything fresh and that's when it starts to go bad, lose flavor - You can adjust everything from sugar level, ice level, boba, pudding (3 different types), ect. - They educate you on everything and are insanely knowledgeable on what they make, like, did you know that if you refrigerate your boba it causes it to go hard so you should keep your drink at room temperature instead - They keep everything as fresh as they can from using real tea instead of prepackaged portions (their matcha is the most accurate I've ever had and I've been to a TON of boba places), and they use real fruit too I could seriously go on and on but we've been going here at least 3 times a week and we definitely aren't tired of it even a little bit!
