And they understand that sometimes you just want more than 2 pieces of Chashu with your ramen!! The Chashu slices are on the thinner side but you can choose between regular, double, meat lover and super meat lover. The broth is amazing too and full of flavor. And that's not all. I hate to go to a place where I see stellar reviews and realize that the reviews are fake or by people who don't know what quality food is. I ordered the kakuni ramen with a side dish of braised pork over rice. When we arrived it was pretty dead for a late lunch. Most orders were takeout. Two guys servicing the front. Ramen had a lot of toppings. Soup broth was mediocre. Then the braised pork over the rice was so salty and dry. It was just way overcooked. What a disappointment. I don't like to have them take it back but it was so sad. Then I asked for a substitute and they charged me a whole other new side dish. Seriously. Great food. Not the most celiac friendly. While they do have gluten free broth and gluten free noodles, the gluten free noodles are cooked in the same water as the gluten noodles. Staff was very knowledgeable and advised me to get the vegetarian ramen without noodles as that's the safest for me. The eggs are marinated in soy sauce so they are not gluten free either. 5 stars because my friends who could eat gluten loved their food. Gomen just released a new menu so I had to check it out! Some items on the new menu are the Dungeness crab ramen and the Galbi ramen and they're both fully loaded! The Dungeness crab ramen comes with clams and shrimp, and are super fresh. The Galbi ramen comes with 6 enormous pieces of short ribs. The meat is so tender that it falls off the bone The portions on these bowls are crazy too! It can easily feed 3-4 people The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. Fried rice was much better as it isn't as oily as before. Pan fried gyoza were decent. The price is right for the lunch menu, family of four got 4 soups, 3 appetizers and paid about $70 before tip. So I found this place by Instagram and the advertised free kids meals on the weekend with the purchase of an adult entrée so I was intrigued I came in and to my surprise we seated immediately it was super clean and the best part is it was extremely kid friendly Our waiter was extremely kind we made conversation, but I didn't even get his name so that's on me we got the food and my one and a half year old devoured his gyoza and half a Ramen bowl. When I tell you, these bowls were hot they were extremely hot. However, the waiter was so kind that when he brought the bowl of the kids meal, he also brought ice to help cool it down like how much more kid friendly does it have to get not to mention he constantly kept bringing napkins without me having to ask that's an extra big win. I can't believe I've never left a review for Gomen. I've been coming here for over a decade now and it's like my top 3 ramen places. Their mabo tofu ramen is my favorite and i haven't seen it sold anywhere else. They have their fried rice which I also love, if you like vinegar, you should try it on the fried rice, it's so good. My miso broth chicken ramen was so DELICIOUS, especially with the hot sauce. The atmosphere gave me anime vibes with the different figurines, and Gundam's right it the front entrance.
