    Tonkotsu Light Chashu Garlic Oil

Server was sweet and kind. Their gyoza used a thicker skin so you won't get the typical crispy gyoza but regardless it's super juicy and delicious. Perhaps my favorite in the meal: I got their light tonkotsu with garlic oil. It honestly lacked flavor. It kinda felt like a glorified instant ramen. My husband got the tantan. That was the winner. I guess I should have known since their shop is named gomaichi. Their sesame is what they are proud of. The soup had so much more flavor. Next time I would try this or the chef's original.

You can join the waitlist through Yelp, though it wasn't necessary when we visited on a recent Saturday afternoon. Gomaichi is conveniently located in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, so there's plenty of shared parking available. I ordered the garlic tonkotsu ramen and added extra choy sum. The broth flavorful and the broth was hot in temperature, but surprisingly, I didn't taste much garlic. My husband decided to try the curry rice, but unfortunately, he found it a bit bland and underwhelming. I'd recommend sticking with the ramen here. Our group also shared a few appetizers, including the gyoza, miso eggplant, and cucumber salad. They complement well to our meal. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, and our waitress was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions.

Came here for lunch to cure our hangover and it was our first time trying this place. We brought our service dog with us; at first we were told no, but after showing his service dog ID, they welcomed us in, which we appreciated. The place itself is very clean and well-kept, with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel relaxed. The service was good; attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Now let's talk about the food... it was so, so good. Exactly what we needed; flavorful, satisfying, and honestly hit the spot perfectly. This place definitely exceeded our expectations. VERDICT: I WILL COMEBACK

Fairly new spot. I had the TanTan ramen. Loved the noodle texture and the broth was rich without being salty. The Char Siu pork was tender without falling apart. Very attentive service by the staff. I need to come back to try their other ramens. Oh, I loved the spoon. It was a mini ladle making it a fun experience.

Hubby saw this new restaurant on Yelp and we came to dine here tonight. It's a little difficult to find since it is located in a corner of the Redondo Shores Shopping Center. If you are facing Whole Foods, head to the right of it. Parking is free and plentiful, but you may have to walk. The spaces are shared between all the businesses. There's a beautiful black and white mural. I was told that the Japanese portion represents the head chef's Japanese roots, the Hawaiian part is for their original location (Honolulu, HI), and the Hollywood, CA portion is for this location. I think it should have shown something unique to Redondo Beach, though. I looked up the meaning of the restaurant's name and basically it is translated to "Number 1 Sesame" or "First Sesame". The Tan Tan broth is Sesame based. We ordered: *Gyoza - scrumptious little dumplings packed with flavor *Small Salad - the dressing was very tasty *Tan Tan Ramen - hubby liked it, I just barely tasted it since I was eating my own bowl of ramen *Vegetarian Ramen with White Soy Broth - the flavor grew on me. It was a subtle creamy broth. I thoroughly enjoyed the veggies & tofu chunks. *Yuzu Cheesecake - very delectable! I think it was crustless. I really liked the thin layer of Yuzu. *Black Sesame Mochi - it was your typical grocery store ice cream mochi. Service was attentive & efficient. All the hot foods came out nice and hot while the cold foods came out at the proper temperatures. We both agreed we'd return. I'm sure we'll get the Gyoza & Salad again.

Everything was so good! The service was amazing and the waitress was so sweet. We ordered spicy garlic edamame and shrimp tempura roll for appetizers and they did not disappoint. The tonkatsu light ramen was my favorite. The broth was extremely flavorful. We will be back!

I love the service here the young lady helping me was incredibly friendly :) even from the moment I walked in, she made the whole meal feel welcoming. The restaurant itself has a very clean, bright atmosphere that's perfect for a focused lunch or a relaxed dinner. But....The standout here is definitely the broth--it has an incredible creamy texture that's rich and velvety without feeling heavy. You can tell they put a lot of time into developing that depth of flavor. Every spoonful was perfectly balanced by the fresh scallions, and the slight heat from the peppers. If you appreciate a ramen broth with real body and soul, Gomaichi is a must-visit.

This restaurant was very clean and almost empty on a Thursday night, which we were happy about. I brought my husband here for his birthday since his favorite food is ramen. I read the description that it would be Hawaiian ramen, which sounds interesting! The unfortunate thing is that we have tried far too many ramen restaurants...and just a lot of restaurants in general. So we have high standards. For flavor, we give the ramen we tried a 4/10. It was very bland and not flavorful. We had to put some of everything they had on the table on the ramen to make it a 5/10. The appetizers (spicy cucumber and edamame) were very basic, and the spicy cucumber was very much soaked in vinegar. The service was very good though and the staff was welcoming and nice. The food was hot and fresh. Due to the lack of flavor though, we will never come back here again.

This some of the best ramen we have had in a very long time! The gyoza tasted handmade and it was probably my favorite thing on the menu. It is a must if you are coming here. Don't skip on it. My husband loved the California roll so much he had to get a second plate of it. Everything tasted handmade and the flavors were so good. We were completely stuffed. The place is super clean and modern and really transports you. I think what topped off our experience was the service. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind and attentive. This is now our new go to spot!

Excellent service! It was friendly and quick. Plenty of parking in the lot. The space is small, but they do have tables and a little bit of counter seating. The food was flavorful and rich. Great spot in Redondo!

Hello and Happy Grand Opening Gomaichi Ramen! It is no secret that I love ramen and I was so excited to learn that there is a new ramen spot in Redondo Beach. Today was their official grand opening and there was lots of fun, prizes and good food! For today's Grand Opening; Gomaichi Ramen had a fun spin the wheel game that featured a lot of good prizes like free ramen, free appetizers and discounted meals. Service was spot on despite them being pretty busy during the grand opening. They were very efficient and we got seated quickly. My friend and I each got a ramen. I got the Tan Tan Ramen ($17.95) and my friend got the Tonkotsu Light ($17.95). One of the things that I liked right away is that you can choose the main meat or veggie for your ramen. They have options of Minced Pork, Char Siu Pork, Chicken, Wakame Seaweed or Vegetables. Since Tan Tan Ramen typically comes with Minced Pork; I decided to choose that. The Tan Tan Ramen was great! It comes with the Chef's signature sesame based broth. I really enjoyed the soup. It had the perfect nutty flavor with the just the right hint of spice. Though it wasn't needed because the ramen was already quite flavorful; I added a bit of chili oil just for little more fire. Last but not least I loved the minced pork and the flavored egg. That flavored egg is true chef's kiss! This whole ramen was so tasty and I was quite pleased with my ramen of choice. I also tried my friend's Tonkotsu Light and loved the creamy, light pork bone based broth. The Tonkotsu Light definitely is on my list to get for a future visit. I will definitely be back! This ramen enthusiast is so happy to have a new ramen spot in Redondo Beach! Congrats on the grand opening Gomaichi Ramen!

I was excited to try this new ramen spot, especially given the high ratings. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and was underwhelmed. The broth was very bland, char siu pork had no seasoning and flavor to it. I also have never seen ramen with ginger on top before. Overall, I didn't think it really stood out at all. I really hate to give a mediocre rating because the service was great and the workers were very nice but unfortunately don't think I'll be coming back.

Came here twice during their soft opening to try the ramen--because once just wasn't enough. Nestled in the corner of the Redondo Shores shopping center, it's easy to miss with all the construction. They've got locations in Oahu and Japan, so you know they mean business. For a small space, they've made it work--clean, cozy, airy, and bright. We tried the char siu tan tan, sung hon men, and shoyu ramen, plus the karaage and spicy cucumbers. The karaage was crispy and delish! Appreciated the handmade noodles and the flavorful broth along with the char siu. Portion sizes? Just right--not too little, not a food coma, but juuust enough to leave you happy. Service was attentive and helpful! A solid ramen spot close by, especially perfect for those colder days when you need a hug in a bowl.

My go to is the Tonkotsu since that's what they're known for, and it was delicious. This time I decided to try the Black Devil Ramen, which combines their black garlic oil tonkotsu broth with their spicy tonkotsu broth. I'm really glad I switched it up because the black garlic gave the broth a much deeper, richer flavor, and the little bit of spice balanced everything out perfectly. I love spicy ramen, but not when it's so spicy that you can't taste anything else. Also added the Everything Topping and extra green onions because I'm feeling hungry. The type of spice where I can still enjoy my food and not have to worry about eating it through hiccups or anything like that. I also had a side of the spicy katsu cutlet, which I also enjoyed very much. They brought me one big piece of chicken katsu and some scissors to cut it up, which I thought was neat. But every bite I had was wonderful, as it was clearly fried to perfection. The service was also on point and our server even let us try some of their devil sauce ( I do not remember if this was what it was called but it sure was spicy). A few drops of this in my bowl of ramen and I began to sweat profusely. She said barely anyone ever orders it and I can totally see why haha. She was also super nice to us and overall provided some excellent service, I did not quite catch her name. The interior of this place also feels quite small, but it is well ventilated. Just be mindful if you get up and walk around because there are people eating to your left and right.

I'm not a huge ramen fan, and this was similar to most. Was a little salty, but had the umami flavor and everything was cooked fine. Didn't really stand out was all. Might be back since their hours work out.

The restaurant wasn't full yet but it filled up very quickly after we sat down (shortly after Shinsengumi opened). There's a decent amount of seating inside and it's very lively. We had our kids with us and didn't feel too self conscious when they were making a ruckus lol. I got their Tokyo Yatai ramen with extra noodles and an additional side of curry rice. It's a solid meal if you're by yourself. I'm not sure why it's called Yatai but I understand that word is associated with those shop stands that cook food on the side walks. I'm a big fan of food stalls so this bowl of ramen gave me those kind of vibes. I loved it. It was well balanced and the noodles were delicious! The side of curry was delicious too! I'd definitely come back here regardless of what's going on at Shinsengumi next time!

Staff were super attentive and kind. Got the dip ramen (aka tsukemen) in regular size. The portion is just right. Noodles are thick and chewy. The dipping broth is so well flavored and goes amazing when dipped with the noodles. I liked the broth so much I tried it on its own, but it was too salty and not meant to be used for drinking. The ramen came with half an egg, and a slice of chashu. Egg was perfect- not too runny or cooked. Chashu was tender. Really loved this and will definitely come get it again. Fried rice side- really flavorful and tasty. It had some meat pieces and fishcake pieces inside. Gyoza - got the kurobuta and garlic flavor. Unfortunately this fell short of my expectations as the top of the skin wasn't crispy at all. The filling was juicy, but had a bit too much ginger taste to it.
