I have been going Milpitas Golfland since 1980 at that time I was 5 years old. I continue to go until this day some 36 years later. On a regular basis I am pleased with the value and quality of food, extreme friendliness of all staff including management. As they work very hard to try to maintain one of the few good places still in the bay area for family entertainment. On a regular basis they try to keep things fresh and exciting changing out games menu plans etc. I have had many many good memories made here and look forward to more in the future. What you could expect from a visit here? 1. While not super excellent courses they are very playable and fun courses occasionally yes attraction or two maybe down but certainly on a minor scale. 2. While I do miss the video game arcade portion of Golfland I understand why it probably went by the wayside luckily they have a excellent laser tag arena in its place. 3. The snack bar what can I say the selection is HUGE if you can't find something to eat on there I don't know what to tell you. My personal favorites are the onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Want a milkshake? they have like 30 + different flavors they can do best of all won't break the bank. Prices are similar to any other place for similar fair. The prize counter is always new and exciting constantly rotating prizes on a non extreme ticket exchange for price scale you always walk out of there with something fun and new. I find it quite satisfying to walk out of there on a regular basis without junk and something fun. read more

I've been taking my kids here all summer for mini-golf and the arcade. My experience all summer was pretty good. The seasonal help, young kids behind the counter were very pleasant and helpful all summer. Yesterday, my kids wanted a last hoorah at Golfland before going back to school next week. I guess the nice kids behind the counter went back to school themselves. Instead we encountered arrogant men too busy to be bothered and had attitudes that seemed like they were too good to be there. Had I written this review just a couple of weeks earlier, I might have given them 4 stars. There was a nice girl behind the counter that was helpful, explained the packages well and was apologetic when my orders took a little too long. I don't know who these men were. They were probably the owners or something but they could use a lesson in customer service from the girl that was there only weeks before. I guess I won't be coming here until next summer when the customer service is better. read more

If they wanted to make a better laser tag zone, they would have extended the wing or build a new wing that's much bigger than the one that they currently have. It sucks. First off, I miss all the arcade games that used to be there from DDR, Initial D, arm wrestling some dummy it was fun to have dates there. I used to go to Golfland solely for the arcade, and since they did that away, we decided to try the putt golf for the first time. Definitely had more fun than what we initially thought the courses weren't run down or anything. There's some hand sanitizer near the entrance if you're icky about germs and reaching for lost balls in the water. Speaking of which they should have better fences to prevent the balls from slipping downstream there was a hole in one of the fences and we lost two balls to the water read more

This place is one of the best day out spots for a get together. You have arcade games along with 3 mini golf courses , laser tag and also food with shelter seatings. The golf courses doesn't require any mandatory golf skills and are really fun to play.It might get little crowded after 4.00 but you will have your own space to play. I've been a regular here since 2003, that's when I got into playing DDR. I don't come here for the mini golf obviously. I sure miss those double token deals. =( The reasons I still come here is the selections of the arcade games and their arcademania deals for their golf arcade. -Wednesday $6: 6 pm-close -Thursday $10: 10 am-close. -Saturday $6: 9 am-12 noon. (not worth it, IMO) They seem to keep their music games (DDR SuperNOVA2, ITG2, DDR Extreme, PIU, Guitar Freaks, Drummania, Para Para Paridise) in good shape. Now, I play Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3. The conditions of those cabinets have gone down the drain. The 2 WMT3 machines on the left are in bad shape. The one next to Time Crisis 4, the seat doesn't lock into place and once in a while, the force feedback on the steering wheel goes out of order. The second from the left, the force feedback is gone because this idiot noob banged the wheel left to right. And the third from the left, the sound system is messed up. read more

The hubby and I took our kids to Golfland yesterday (Memorial Day). Located right off the Jacklin Rd. exit in Milpitas, Golfland was very easy to find, and there was lots and lots of parking. A big plus! Mini-golf was fun and the Castle Course was in good condition. The weather could have been better, but it did improve eventually. Video gamers would be happy here as there were A LOT of video games. We came only to play mini-golf, so I didn't spend time in the arcade. We would definately come back as it was a lot cleaner and in better condition than other golf places. read more

We went on a Saturday so the course was filled to the brim with birthday parties. You would think there would be staff monitoring the parties. However, there was not a staff member in sight. The parties took over the whole course and even began to putt while my husband and I were still playing the hole. It was complete chaos. The place kinda stinks when you walk in MGL isnt the same as it use to be.. Most of the ticket games there dont work and the ones that do dont give out tickets when you win. The ticket machines that collect the tickets you won dont work and the one that does work is kinda wacky. This place is another hang out for milpitas high school and some middle school kids hang out at. I use to go here alot 2000-2002 they use to have tons of DDR Machines and better video games. read more

This was the place to be in the 80's. My 10 year old daughter wanted a party with lazer tag so we picked this place since it was close to all her friends, who we knew would probably show up. Well, luckily we were only group having a party that day so we got a huge indoor party room to ourselves. Their "included decorations" was a turn off however. Their table cloths were just one color, no golfland picture or logo, and it was thin plastic. I offered to set up the room for them, even though they are paid to do it with package. I had to keep asking them for set up items, one by one. They write down your orders and time it should be served. They forgot to make our orders and had to inquire about it. They apologized because they probably forgot. Our host, Charlene or something like that...lol..was very polite and patient with the children so we gave her a nice tip. Party package we chose was 3-Activities Pckg. You get a choice of 30 arcade coins, mini golf, lazer tag, or 2 rounds lazer maze. It also comes with 2 slices of pizza, drink, 20 tokens, etc. We skipped the mini golf just because it was raining all week and flu viruses were going around during the chilly weather. Activities were really fun, but the arcade?? Could have been fun too, IF... 1. It didn't eat out coins 2. Gave us tickets awarded 3. We went to this place during one of our work outings. The place was dead because well it was during work hours and of course it was raining that day. I do not know what the costs were for the laser tag and the golf itself. But I think we got unlimited golf. In an hour we finished the golf course, but we did have 4 people playing. The golf courses are fun to play, but some become pretty repetitive though. The place is pretty big as they have 4 courses to play. If you loose your ball however, you do have to pay 25 cents. When I was a kid, I probably would have cost my parents a lot of money. Anyways it was fun either or. Laser tag was fun as well. However some of the guns did not work at all. The arena can be really hot inside and you sweat a lot by running. So the suits are probably disgusting. read more

This place has been here a long time, and has always been a great place to attend whenever i'm ever in the mood. They have a serious lack of staff which was not a problem. You just have to be very patient whenever they're busy. I did have a problem when it came to families not being able to control their children. It can be a slight bummer. My girlfriend and I, well into adulthood but still fun loving, decided to go miniature golfing, something neither one of us had done in years. We went on a Sunday afternoon, St. pattys day to be exact. We expected the place to be busy....but We arrived to find that there is one line for everything. Golfing, food, drinks, tokens all line up together. There were about eight groups/families in front of us with two employees at the counter, I figured maybe 10 minutes max of a wait.....40 minutes later we finally made it to the front of the line. Here are my observations: The young employees all seem to be working hard and trying their best. I fault the management for severely understaffing the front counters/registers. The two employees at the front have no support people helping to get golf clubs, make drinks, Or icy's or whatever. This causes a big bottleneck because the counter employees have to do it all. If Management would hire just two more employees as support, you would turn that line over in probably 10 minutes. Don't you understand that you could sell three times the amount of food and sell more rounds of golf as well? spend the $15 an hour (total employee cost) and make probably $ 200 an hour more on food revenue alone? We saw two couples who came in, but left after a few minutes. Everyone in line was frustrated and it didn't help when a couple people, adults, just walked to the front of the line, only to be told off by the people at the front of the line. Good times, not. After finally getting to the course, we chose course #1, of 3. We had an ok time, although the holes seemed easy. We were followed by an annoying family/group. Two adult ladies and six kids. They didn't grasp the basic concept that you wait until someone finishes a hole before you start hitting. On the second hole, it was the 20 something mom hitting while we were still on the green. I looked at her and said, "you gotta wait till we're done before you can start." Two holes later while she's standing there watching, her kid does the same thing. Totally clueless. Oh, and you wonder how can a group of eight, keep up with two people in front of you? Hummm, glad you asked. It's because all six kids hit there balls at the same time. Yeah, it is possible! All the while, the mom of the year is there clueless and laughing. Maybe an employee walking around as a safety monitor would help, as there were bands of kids running amuck, running randomly from hole to hole, hitting balls everywhere, at one point almost hitting a small child. There's more, but I'll just sum it up and say, unless your there for a kids party, and there were a lot of them, skip this place during the peak times. Otherwise, it's just frustrating. read more

Came here about 9pm, on a Saturday. The place didn't have enough service people. We had to wait at the golf window for awhile for the check-in. After golfing, we went back inside to play some games, but most of the machines were broken. We have the terrible experience on Golfland this afternoon(03/23/2013). They ruined my daughter's birthday party!!! We make a reservation two week ago for my girl's birthday party on today 03/23/2013, and this morning we drive there to get a confirmation that everything will be OK, Nothing would be changed. But when we get there at party time(4:30pm-6:30pm), the tables were occupied by others, and they will use the tables till 6:00 pm. So i go to ask the service guy why happened, All the service guy seem busy, no one answer me. 15 minutes later, one lady come to me and say they will arrange me to course 9, another tables, close to what i have ordered. I say OK, please try to set up everything, because our guests already be there. I go back to wait. Until 5:00 they come to clean the table and put some new table paper. And done, That 's all they do. We sit down and are wait for service, food drink,( we have already ordered in advance.) But No one come to us again. Then I go to register table to ask them to give us water and food, Still no one come. The whole Party is in chaos, because we have no food no drink. During the all time, no one come to explain to us and say sorry to us. I will go to BBB to complain about this terrible experience. They have bad organization, bad service. I will never be there to hold a party agian. Very disappointed. read more

Overall this is a super fun place! We only played mini golf and did not play in the arcade. We did walk through the arcade and it was super overwhelming for my three year old, but seemed to be fun for those playing in there. The mini golf area was huge with three different courses. The landscaping was beautiful and there were some really cool and challenging holes. The bathrooms were fairly clean as well. We will be back! read more

Milpitas Golfland is one of the last arcades with Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Plus if you go at the right time there's still some competeition. Shit, at night sometimes there will be like 8 people waiting to play someone on Capcom VS SNK. It gets pretty crazy. All in all, it's a cool place. Although whatshisname; dude with the glasses could calm down a bit. Dude is like a fucking hall monitor. He always threatens to call "M.P.D." on everybody for no reason. & He always says "M.P.D." too. He can never just say "cops" or "the police" like a normal person. MGL, golf, arcade, and pizza! I go to MGL mainly for their Parapara Paradise machine, which is a rarity in the united states. They have a good variety of video games, especially music games. I have to say, all their video games are crammed together, so it's hard to hear over the other games all the time (espcially if you're playing a music game). The atmosphere is very dark, but kind of old school, which is very nostalgic for me. It does smell a little, but if you play golf after playing video games you'll be relieved. =) Mini golf is very fun, as long as you have a good attitude about it and know how to have fun. If you couldn't tell from previous postings or anything else I may have alluded to in the past. I'm a video-game nerd at heart, always have been and always will be. My appearance may suggest otherwise, but there's something about games I've always been attracted to and I'm not in the least bit ashamed to say that. With that said, I've been coming to Golfland since early 2000. I was introduced to this place by a good friend of mine who was into Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) at the time. That Second Mix machine sucked me in and I was drawn into the allure of that and other Bemani games that consumed my life for the greater part of my late teens and early 20's. I'm almost 30 now and I still try and visit Golfland whenever I have the chance. The games and the overall clientele of this place has changed, for the worse actually, but my nostalgia and fond memories of this place won't let me rate it anything less than 5 stars. The Bemani is far less prevalent as the fighting game scene has changed the landscape of Milpitas Golfland (MGL). Well, on to the stuff that matters. MGL now offers milkshakes for $4.79 and have a variety of flavors. People will find theat these aren't the sippable types of milkshakes as much as they are HUGE cups of ice cream waiting to be demolished. The food that they have in the lower arcade isn't bad by any means, in fact, the french fries that they serve are actually very good. The chicken tenders are excellent as well, the pizza, well, that's more or less a Papa Murphy's genetic experiment gone awry. The games are what you'd expect to pay to play. Some of the newer titles will set you back a dollar, whereas older titles can often be played for a token @ .25 value. The mini-golf is about 7-8 dollars a round and can be very fun if played with the right people. This is a great place to go if you're looking for that good old fashioned arcade feel, sitting/standing next to your opponent, hoping to beat the living crap out of them. read more

Golfland, I gotta say I love your deals for family night or a late night golf game with a few friends & the beau. I don't really buy food here, so I can't say anything about it, but I came here is to golf and thats about it. They have about 2 to 3 courses, persay I would say hey, the more the merrier! I've been here for quite some time for the past 3 years, and I say the staff is up to par, maybe they are short staffed, but always helpful. Tips to keep in mind: 01) If you're not a big fan of golf, there is some arcade games inside the building. Turns out to be fun once in awhile if you do enjoy them. 02) If you lose your ball during the game, just walk back to where you got your club/balls, and just tell them. They'll gladly give you another one. 03) Remember, HAVE FUN! The mini golf course was a lot of fun! I recommend doing course 3, although it's pretty difficult it was very entertaining. Be prepared to stick your arm in a water feature to get your ball a couple of times. The arcade gives me Chuck E. Cheese vibes. We came back for the yearly birthday golf and it just seems like this place is going a little down hill. We still had a blast golfing but it just seems like the course is getting a little run down. The two holes that have moving parts were not working like they are supposed to and the water mill was not moving at all. I sure hope things get better. read more

The mini golf course was big and not crowded even on a weekend. However, the course is more run down than other courses I've been to. For first-time visitors, it is also difficult to find the counter for paying and getting clubs and golf balls - instead of having the counter in the back by the golf course or at the merchandise counter, they expect you to go to the food counter, which is the last place anyone would look if they hadn't been there before. read more

Two Golf courses with alot of fun obsticles and themed areas. The course itself isn't as integrated with the decorations and obsticles etc like other golf courses but there are still one or two cool ones where you hit the ball into a castle or mission etc. The arcade is farely large offering a nice variety of games for all skill levels both for ticket games and for hard core games. Golfland had reinvented itself to be a better place to host group outing. I was there last week with our team at work of around 35 person. They accepted the reservation in a short notice for us to play laser tag and pizza. The lunch area is big and can accommodate 2 big groups without any problems. It has the benches so there are no shortage of seating. I want to talk about their new laser tag as this is my first time playing there. The playing area is small so you can walk/run from one end to the other. There are just partition of some walls that makes you to go around them. One good thing is that there is no hiding place so you pretty much have to defense yourselves most of the time. To make the laser tag better, I'd recommend to build the ramps and more corners to force people to stop running around. It can be dangerous when people are running and sticking the gun out to protect themselves. read more

Love this place! Even though I'm from the Monterey Bay, going up here on Thursdays and Saturday mornings is the greatest deal a dancing-game deprived enthusiast can have! Ok get this; Wednesday nights from 6 PM to closing: $6 for unlimited golf arcade access Thursday nights ALL DAY: $10 Saturday mornings from opening to 12 PM: $6 I can easily fit in about 30 games of DDR in about 2 hours, not to mention trying all the hard songs I could never dream of trying because I'd be too much of a penny-pincher to try to play it anyway!
