Then they sold my current apartment complex. I tried to move to Glenchester that is owned and managedby Casto. They will not rent to me because of the situation. When I was the complaining party, I would stay away from all Casto communities. They do not care about their residence. Terrible corporate and regional management. I am now responding to Jennifer's response. I don't know who you are I have never talked to you. You were never in any meetings and do not know what you do for Casto but you do not know what is going on. I have caseworkers and people that help pay my rent. They were all at that meeting your guys's manager brought in a special duty CPD officer that usually works in the community to try to intimidate me . I was made out to be the bad guy like I'm the one that was causing the issue when I was the complaining party. that I recall, there was no other incidents and all my caseworkers have no other record of any other incident except this one with the neighbor above me 11+ years that I lived at Wexford Lakes that I stated in my review. So now Casto is making stuff up. I have plenty of witnesses of what happened and how I was treated and plenty of evidence to support what I'm saying. And your apartment manager was not doing anything. I called your regional manager. She never returned my phone call until I went higher than her so I was not harassing anybody. I was just trying to get the neighbor above me to stop playing music and banging on the floor because they were keeping me up all night which violating their lease agreement. So now casto is saying because I called and emailed about the incident because your managers weren't doing their job is definitely not harassment . If you get the chance to leave a voicemail they will not call you back. If you are lucky to have an email of theirs and reach out they will never respond. When we had lived here we had a shortage in our wiring attaching to the smoke detectors. They all went off for hours. I called, went into the office, called maintained, put a work order in and silence. After 1am and no one came out all day, I called maintenance where he said he would be there in an hour......he never showed I called the fire dept. they had to come out and check everything. Now my most recent issue if we have medication that was sent to our old address as I reached out via email,called, even calling the apartment complex next to them to see if they could help. No one has responded it has been 2 weeks. And to complete this amazing review of Sycamore. I went in a while back to get a form to fill out to move, as I walked in I said my name Sydni and the front desk lady looked at me said "here you go squidney" and I left. The ants were so bad they were in my daughter's crib and toy box. I never felt safe leaving my apartment at night for things like walking to the trash, dealt with MANY creepy men, I even installed an extra security latch on my door after one incident, had my cars broken into and my title stolen, had my screen busted out, had my doorknob to the front door unscrewed and laying on the ground and a maintenance man tell me they had the same call from another resident. I found bullet casings on the ground, used condoms, they built a dog park but no park for the many kids running loose (same kids would try to steal my daughter's toys off my porch), no bathroom at the pool so you can guess where everyone is peeing and they over-chlorinate it to make up for all the piss, the pool water will leave you dry and itchy because of the chemicals EVEN AFTER SHOWERING, my neighbor had a swastika drawn on his apartment, another one of my neighbors was selling pills... I would hear their phone conversations and the random people coming at all hours... their last residence was condemned over drug trafficking, they had a homeless family member who'd sit in his wheelchair and fall asleep on the sidewalk, he'd cuss OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME loud enough you'd have to close your windows, he'd dig through the trashcans. I had a neighbor come up to me and ask if I knew where to buy weed from. Nobody adheres to the speed limit in the neighborhood. I'd walk with my daughter every day so I observed a lot, I was almost hit a lot too from the speeding. I'd have to close my windows because the weed smell outside at night would give me a headache/make me nauseous. The apartment's themselves are rundown, I had several leaks causing black mold and they sent someone to just paint over the shit but never fixed it. I had a neighbor who was evicted because she would verbally assault me about my appearance and weight after having my baby and it all started over her unleashed German shepherd, she threatened us with a gun, got into my face while I was holding my 5 month old, her daughter and teenage boys in the neighborhood would throw a basketball at my upstairs window while I was 7 months pregnant and trying to sleep, they'd knock and runaway. I had packages stolen. The leasing office women are rude as f and the maintenance guys were aholes, super lazy too, I had one come into my apartment for 30 plus minutes (caught the times on my security camera) and didn't fix a damn thing on my list but changed a light bulb ??? I also had one who was in my apartment """fixing""" a leak (the floor fell threw) above my washer and dryer underneath the bathtub, I went into the bedroom with the door cracked and instead of him shouting he'd be back HE STUCK HIS HEAD INTO THE CRACK WHILE I WAS LAYING IN MY BED AND LOOKED AT ME TO TELL ME WITH NO KNOCK !!! I had a bat flying around my apartment and they told me it wasn't an after hours emergency, my neighbor had an infestation of bats, at night you could hear rodents running in between the floors and walls, the late fee for rent increased from 25 to 50 and when I moved in I was paying 890 give or take and when I left it we like 1,200 but no improvements had been made. The insulation was SO BAD the downstairs would be freezing but the upstairs you'd burn up! I had to run my air on 67 to keep the bedroom upstairs 73 degrees, the weather stripping for the door was always an issue. I would of never moved in if I would of been given time to think about it but was told I had to decide right then and there or else the unit would be gone and I was desperate at the time. Don't even get me started on the paint job and construction !! OH one time Cabot Cove blocked my old Facebook while I was discussing issues with another resident over a review LOL what else??? I had a neighbor move because he was approached by 7 other neighbors from the same "religious group" with knives.

I was rushed into a lease being told that the previous tenant bought himself out of his lease which should have been a red flag. My very first day when I received my keys I entered my "luxury apartment" finding multiple COCKROACHES present in the unit. I under no circumstances can live with cockroaches. I was told repeatedly that this was a pest free environment. I stayed in this unit all of 4 days, seeing more roaches every day. One of the nights I had to rent a hotel just to get a night of sleep. The women that work in the leasing office, Carmen and Lupe, are sales people at the end of the day and they only care about getting you in. Everyone involved, including Xavier from their corporate company, was rude, nonchalant and unethical when dealing with me. I also felt racially profiled by Carmen. The inspector and the leasing office work together to cover themselves against the lies that were told to me. Carmen told me I would receive a check in the mail in a couple weeks, since we agreed I was to leave so early on, and she would be able to rent the apartment to someone else. Weeks and weeks later I receive a bill with over $1300 in charges. They charged me a cleaning fee of $430. I never utilized anything in this apartment not even the bedroom or the bathroom. Corporate said that when someone moves out they have to shampoo the carpet and paint. Now how does that sound? When I left the apartment there were still vacuum marks on the carpet, that's how untouched it was. I would also like to mention the inspector gave me advice that you can tell how clean a complex is by looking under the sink, and proceeded to show me how dirty and grimey it was. Funny I am being charged a cleaning fee when this area has been uncleaned and untouched prior to me entering. There was also a damp water spot underneath the sink which can also attract these same cockroaches. I will insert the pictures. As someone who has never seen a cockroach in real life, Gables West has traumatized me. their only rebuttal is "this is Apartment Living." I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Spend your money where you are valued! Nothing about this experience was luxury.

At the time of this review things were not looking great however they have actually made a huge effort to step up their game. They have kept the grass clean from dog poop and even put new mulch and plants in the flower beds. I no longer see the area in front of my unit covered in trash and dog poop and it's starting to feel much like the Gables West I moved into almost 2 years ago. Big thank you to Keaton in the office who did this all single handedly before they hired our new groundskeeper Michael. I would now definitely recommend these apartments. Thank you Gables!
