If I could get ahold of anyone in the office I would explain to them the issue, but since no one wants to return my calls....emails..... I'll say what I need to say here. We lived here for 2 years the first year was great and then the second is when it started to plummet down. First I'll start with if you want to get ahold of them, good luck. They have decided to go fully remote, you can't go in and speak with them and if you call any of the phone numbers online, on their website, or maintenance ya your not talking to anyone. If you get the chance to leave a voicemail they will not call you back. If you are lucky to have an email of theirs and reach out they will never respond. When we had lived here we had a shortage in our wiring attaching to the smoke detectors. They all went off for hours. I called, went into the office, called maintained, put a work order in and silence. After 1am and no one came out all day, I called maintenance where he said he would be there in an hour......he never showed I called the fire dept. they had to come out and check everything. Now my most recent issue if we have medication that was sent to our old address as I reached out via email,called, even calling the apartment complex next to them to see if they could help. No one has responded it has been 2 weeks. And to complete this amazing review of Sycamore. I went in a while back to get a form to fill out to move, as I walked in I said my name Sydni and the front desk lady looked at me said "here you go squidney" and I left. Sycamore House is really nice!! The club house and pool is super fancy (pool is heated). Apartment layouts are very open and brings in lots of natural light. Rent is also cheaper than other apartments and has more sqft than most apartments. They also come with really nice appliances and amenities. The staff is also amazing from the front office to the maintenance team! I highly recommend taking a tour at Sycamore House. read more

This place is a joke. We got suspended from the pool sitting off drying. Yes we lost track of time and it was after closing so we were trying to dry off and not walk through the party house soaking wet as the signs say. Then they showed up with dogs in the pool telling us to leave not allowing us to use the bathrooms and to just leave. Next day the amenities are suspended. What exactly are we paying for? For the office girls to be threatening bitches with their dogs. read more

I previously lived there for 3 years moved out last November. I have yet to receive the remainder of my deposit leaving. I've called several times first was told it was sent but I had no proof of it even at my home of record, second time was told the head office will look into with no return calls, and third I got a paper showing what I am to receive on the return but still to this day I have not got it. I'd like to know what's going but I keep getting circular answers so I'm left to take this to legal I don't understand how I was charged $750 for a deposit that is too difficult to return the remaining $620 of it. read more

I moved out of sycamorehouse in September, today is Thanksgiving, and I'm still waiting for them to refund my deposit, I'm pretty sure I got a cleaning company to clean the apartment before I moved out. I lived in here for 2.5 years while waiting for my new house to be build up and it was the worst rental experience I've ever had, noisy day and night, trash everywhere, unhelpful front desk...so disappointed, now I just hope I get my deposit soon! read more

Update: they are now bribing people to leave positive reviews with prizes (see photo). Beware any reviews that are short and don't seem to mesh with the rest. DON'T live here. It was great before it was sold to Oakmont Properties, but the management does literally NOTHING to keep the place together or filter who they let live here. There's always trash everywhere and I've seen the police show up for several domestic violence disputes.... Maintenance has walked into our apartment unannounced and without permission to enter TWICE (and with no reason to enter). We have a big dog who could have easily bitten him, and the second time they walked in unannounced, I was asleep and half undressed. We emailed several managers about this and requested they do something about it, and no one even bothered to reply to us. Front desk staff said this has been a common occurrence and even resulted in the maintenance staff getting a GUN pulled on him-very sketchy. Front desk is never staffed, stinky trash everywhere. The drainage areas that are supposed to be lakes are mosquito-infested mud pits, the pool is always closed, and the grills don't work. Front desk staff is rude and not helpful (if they're even there to answer the phone). Parking lot FLOODS badly; I drive a large SUV and it's still way past my hubcaps. My roommate had water come in through the bottom of his car's doors and soak his car's floor. Water gets to be easily 8 inches deep in some parts of the parking lot and I recently watched someone lose their bumper to one of these lakes (there's no way to get into the complex without driving through this deep water). Mold has also been a big problem in our apartment... The entire complex is built on top of what used to be a swamp. Gave us 12 hours notice that we needed to get rid of our grill (after a year of living there), when they have the bulk trash locked up so we can't use it. The list of problems goes on and on..... It's disappointing because this place used to be really nice with great staff before it was sold. I never write reviews, but this place has been so bad that I felt it was necessary. read more

My husband and I have lived here for over 2 1/2 years. We have been at the complex since it was builded. Oakmont properties first managed the complex and then Preferred Living came in and it did not run the smoothest (in my opinion). Then, they made Belinda in charge and since then have finally found the best front desk ladies, Taylor and Tawny (other than a few others from before). In the past year, they have added security camera across the entire the faculty, from every angle to reduce break-in/theft. They have had a trash issue due to residents putting trash in the compactor that cannot go there (such as strollers and shelves and yes some of the residents do this). And I cannot reiterate how amazing the front desk girls, Belinda and maintenance team are. They have became a second family to us while we are here. You will love it here. A year ago, you may not have, but it continues to get better. Plus, you become friends with families and friends in the complex. They always have events for the residents and you have to go! Plus, the amenities are great-movie room, workout area, pool table and free Starbucks! read more

I moved in about a month and ago and let me tell you $$ best apartments in Hilliard in my opinion. affordable, plenty amenities, and the new staff are amazing !! Devon answered all of my questions about living here fast and easy, she's great at her job. The gym is nice and they have plenty of space to workout. The apartments themselves are player !! The pool is huge and issa vibe !! I've lived out here for about 4 years and this was my best option by far. I recommend any and almost everybody to move into sycamore house you won't regret it I promise!!!! read more

Many things wrong with this place, I still live here but only because my lease isn't up yet but I will not be resigning another lease. Issues include, maintenance is a joke and take forever to fix issues properly, multiple cars have been and are still being broken into, if it rains for a few hours and you have a car you will be trapped in the apartment due to both exits being flooded, they make promises they do not keep like year round pool etc. Highly advise look somewhere else, this place looks good from the outside but has a lot of unhappy residents. read more

Update: Called Sydney and asked why we were charged $75 for the walls when she specifically told us we wouldn't be. Her response was "Oh I'm sorry, I do have a list of tenants who were supposed to be excluded from that charge so that might be a mistake on my part" (note that she said NO ONE would be charged because they did such a horrible job painting in the first place) she actually ended up saying that she had our pictures mixed up with another apartment 104. So I said okay then are you sure we should've been charged the $700 for the carpet replacement? She was like oh yeah I'm for sure about that. I'll send you the pictures to your email as soon as we get off the phone. Never got the pictures. Called her again today to confirm she had the right email and to ask if she would re send it because I never got it. She said she sent it to that email already but she acted like she was re sending it again on the phone and surely enough she never really did! I've checked every part of my email, trash and everything, and I've yet to receive one of these pictures proving we owe them $700 for carpet replacement (AFTER she told us she switched our pictures with another apartment)!! If that doesn't scream SCAM idk what does!!!!! Take it from someone that's lived here don't fall in the trap because of the luxurious facade. They will take your money and give you a sub par apartment, not provide the amenities promised then threaten everyone in their stupid little app to take everything we pay for away, they will make your stay shitty and then think of any other scam to take more money when you leave!! FINAL UPDATE: After never receiving the pictures and we were tired of getting the run around from Sydney, we decided to contact the corporate office email. They quickly replied and apologized for the situation, removed both charges, and are now sending us a refund. 3 months since moving out, happy to finally be able to put this behind us! read more

We just moved out of Sycamore House to move out of Columbus to DC however we really loved living there. The first company that owned the apartments was definitely subpar (live preferred) however when Oakmont Properties took over they worked extremely hard to make things right. Sydney (listed below) was the initial property manager who definitely struggled, when we as a community complained they realized Sydney was in over her head as a new young manager and replaced her with Belinda. Belinda was/is AMAZING! She was swift to fix anything we needed, listened and sympathize to our complaints and was so warm. Caroline and Allison who work with Belinda also are wonderful. Our 5 year old loved going in to see them. The only con I would say is that if your a family and don't want to hear pool noise you might not want to live poolside (which is easy to do since they have a lot of units). Management is very bad. Electric bill is very high (250-400) monthly. Pool is very small. Parking is small. You can rent private parking $100 but garages are small too. It's hard to park. Dogs poop everywhere. Etc. Believe me , you don't want to live there. read more

This complex is trying to improve but still has several issues. The maintenance don't listen to requests, the doors slam loudly, the breezeways are disgusting, the insulation is bad, you can hear the highway at night, the showers/bathtub were made with large creases for easy mold buildup. Absolutely HORRIFIC experience living in this apartment. It was very uncleanly. Cockroaches were infested in our apartment before we even moved in. On top of that, management is extremely unhelpful. They told me that I had to pay to get the cockroaches exterminated myself. I also paid rent on time every month and in September they claimed that I hadn't paid and regardless of the fact that I showed them the receipts they wouldn't budge and made me pay rent AGAIN that month. My car also got broken into and a camera was stolen but they would not let me see the videos. Worst apartment ever. read more

I just recently moved into the Sycamore House Preferred Living Apartments and I couldn't be more satisfied. From day one the the Staff has been great. They went above and beyond any experience I ever had with renting. I would recommend this to everyone I know. And all the great amenities it's offers is beyond belief! What makes this place special is the staff at the front desk! They make you feel so welcome and are very friendly and very knowledgeable of all the Utilities and Amenities that come with the apartment. I see myself staying here for a very long time! LOVE the apartment itself (brand new and very trendy) - and the complex offers great facilities and amenities. Some aspects, however, are frustrating to someone looking to be a little more green (in light of very real and pressing environmental problems). For example, recycling is not easily accessible (must drive to the nearest fire station to recycle). Also, instead of having a drinking fountain at the gym (that could be used to fill reusable water bottles), tiny single-use water bottles are scattered about the gym... SO wasteful (and there's not even a recycling bin to put them when empty) - not to mention the "eternal flame" at the apartment entrance which looks cool/boujee, but is it really necessary to waste all that energy during the daytime and even when it's raining or cold outside? On a different note, parking lot lights are super bright which can make it hard to sleep at night. Living here is great, I just wish they'd make a few adjustments to address these things. read more
