The lesson is located at Boulder Creek which i found was a private gold course right hidden in back next past Almaden Lake. I saw turkeys coming in and a coyote and deer on the way out. So awesome!! It was kind of a cold day, foggy, but was beautiful on the course and luckily warmed up throughout the lesson. U can park then make ur way to the range which is the walk way in front of parking lots. Sean is so nice and friendly and makes u feel great even when the ball goes awry. He helped me correct my swing so I'm rotating and using my whole torso/body instead of just my arms. Also my stance and grip. This was my first lesson and we already saw improvement in how far the ball was hit! I would def recommend Sean and will be back for more lessons!!

Also, Matt gives full hour-long lessons versus the other company that only did half hour lessons which I found to be way too short so I ended up having a fractured and incomplete understanding of the golf swing. I'm over 60 years old and a slender woman. So I don't have bulk muscle for strength. Learning how to strike the ball correctly gives me the distance. Matt teaches with intuitive, cohesive instruction and shows (sometimes with props) as well as explains why certain aspects of the swing are important so that logically it all makes sense. He is such a gifted teacher to help all the details gel without my feeling its overly analytical. Proof of his teaching is I started out hitting my 7 iron 42 yards on the Trackman and am now hitting 122 yards dead straight. I have golfed a lot when I was younger but never had a lesson. I was able to get down to a decent…read morehandicap but I was just working with my slice and my home-grown golf swing. I had kids and started a business and took about 15 years off of golf. Like everyone else, I got back into golf during the pandemic. I felt like I was starting over. After a few months of scores over 100 I decided to seek out golf lessons. Steve came highly recommended by a friend. I had watched every youtube video on the web about getting rid of my slice and gave each tip an honest try. Steve taught me to focus on being relaxed and keeping a nice tempo. He also showed me how completing the rotation of my shoulders in my follow through automatically squared up my clubface at impact. In my 2nd lesson I was able to hit some of my iron shots pure. By my third lesson they were going longer and my swing felt so smooth and effortless. I started regularly shooting rounds in the low 90's on the hardest courses in the area. By lesson 6 I started to be able to regularly hit a draw on my driver with a slight inside out path, keeping my balance, and getting that club face closed with my shoulders on the follow through. I have now had 8 lessons and I am shooting in the high 80's on hard courses pretty regularly. Now pretty much every time I am out someone stops me and tells me how great and effortless my swing looks. I am hitting more fairways, more greens, and my short game lessons have improved my putting and my chipping. I am now making almost everything from 6 feet in, and have significantly improved my longer putts. I still have good days and bad days, but my bad days are better than my good days were before my lessons. Lastly, Steve is the best deal in town from a bang for your buck stand point. I paid $150 for a 4 lesson package which comes out to only $37.50 per lesson. You can't find a better deal.

They did signature cocktails as well for me. They let us set an amount for the bar with certain selections for open bar and then guests could do cash bar for top shelf selections if they wanted and both options were utilized. They have a fully stocked bar with so much to offer and the bar staff is the absolute best. They were very easy to work with, no scary overwhelming contracts, just good communication. There were staff changes during my time as a bride but both my main points of contact were easy to work with throughout the process. They let us pull up right by the back room and store our wedding items in the back the night before and come the next day to get everything- very generous of them. Any time I needed to discuss anything, they were responsive. They also let us do a free tasting - we were seriously full all day, such great food! Everyone is so nice. I am giving 5 stars but the only hiccupy things that happened were they originally told me the timeline for my wedding would be 5 pm - 11 pm but then later on they said they needed to change it to end at 10 pm due to noise ordinances. They let me start at 4 though and luckily I hadn't sent out invitations yet so it wasn't a big deal but I had to change all my other contracts with all my other vendors which was kinda annoying. It did push up the whole day such as getting ready, first look photos - a wedding timeline is a very sensitive thing and even changing it by an hour took extra planning time with all my vendors so that's not a small thing to have a bride change. But it all worked out and I preferred the earlier timeline actually. They also only give 2 hours of setup time, but you can stage a lot of things in the back room so its totally doable - we had to be really organized and prepared for tight setup time. Also there was overlap with golfers still being there and my guests arriving so even though they have a huge parking lot, the parking lot was very filled up during the guest arrival time which worried me a little but it all worked out with everyone finding a spot. I was also told by some of my guests that dinner service felt a bit rushed, like staff grabbing away plates while people were still finishing their food. I didn't witness this first hand so I truly dont know what was up with that but I had a whole table of no shows due to a family emergency so we had plenty of extra food and I truly hope people could even get seconds if they wanted. I dont like hearing that food was literally being pulled away. However, there were so many compliments from my guests about the food, staff, and experience. People loved the cake and they gave me a custom cake flavor so very appreciative. Overall, everyone loved the venue. They leave drapery up and even though its definitely an older building (it passes well for a rustic vibe) they work on drawing your eye to the areas that they uplevel plus the ocean views and huge windows are stunning. I would 1000 percent recommend this venue. Not sure what current rates are or what changes they may have made since I booked. I hope they keep costs reasonable- the wedding industry is so tough and I get it, and they could charge more, and I know it is a ton of work but its so lovely that couples could literally have their dream wedding wiithout feeling price gauged. They are very fair there and that's such a rare thing to be able to say. I truly love that they seem to really care about their clients. It's definitely a course where it's more important to be accurate vs long. There's a lot of downhills and uphill lies that you'll have to hit from so it definitely presents a challenge for all skills levels. The greens were in pretty good shape and rolled on the quicker side. Some of the bunkers could use some love but overall the course itself was a fun play. It's quite a drive for me so it's not somewhere I'd play often but it's a solid place to play in the area that doesn't break the bank. We got our tee time through a hot deal of GolfNow so we were able to get a discounted rate for a saturday tee time. Definitely was a good deal for a weekend and it included a cart. Although the course is pretty walkable so next time I'd probably use my push cart.
