Sit outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Or sample a flight, while sitting outside and soaking up the vineyard and surrounding beauty. I wish I had photos to share, but was enjoying my glass of wine and conversation enough that I forgot to pull out my phone!

TO BE CLEAR, THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH- My family and I went to Mother's Day brunch…read morefor the first time. I'll start with the pros: The scenery and views are beautiful. The music stage and grassy area looked lovely. The cons: The food was just ok. It was ala carte, pricey and you had to order it at the counter and then pick it up and take it to your table, also bus your table when finished. So basically they had no host, server and one guy bussing if he had to. We had to find where our reserved table was ourselves. The tables and chairs were plastic with no table cloth so it felt undressed and unthoughtful. We had to search for salt and pepper on other tables and every table didn't have them. We asked for ketchup and the guy said he would look for some when he wasn't busy. He did finally slap a big bottle down on the table well after we were finished. Normally on any other day, I wouldn't have a problem serving myself but it was Mother's Day. I did not want to do all that. I hope for them in the future, they make the Mother's Day Brunch better staffed and thoughtful for the mothers and families who come. Perhaps, instead of their usual food service style, they could alter it to make it feel less self service on Mother's Day. We gave it a try and we won't be going back for Mother's Day.

Their roughly two acre garden is full of beautiful flowers and trees (see the pictures!) and the perfect escape from city life. It's paradise and I highly recommend anyone to stay there who is looking for a beautiful getaway near Ashland and its surrounding areas. The owner's, Annette and Brian, are wonderful hosts and pour their heart and soul into the place. They are extremely friendly and their hospitable touches are everywhere. The spacious studio, which is actually more like a one bedroom, is nicely arranged with books, local information, and decorations. They provide all the morning necessities like coffee, tea, and breakfast food. You'll feel right at home! On the property, there is also a very quaint wine tasting room that is leased by the winery adjacent to their property called Pebblestone Winery. The wine is very good, but it's the setting and hospitality that will make your trip memorable. Apparently, they can host weddings, a wondeful place for a special event. Wisteria is perfectly located to reach the surrounding area. It's an easy 10 minute drive to downtown Ashland. The drive to historic Jacksonville is about 15 minutes drive through some amazing, rolling vineyards. My only regret about writing this review is letting my secret out. I'm sure next time I go I will need to book months in advance.

The course has over 60 sand traps and bunkers that are major design feature of the course and they are all in terrible condition. This is a full length 9-hole course. It has enough challenge in it, to make is interesting, yet isn't overly punishing for shots that don't quite hold the fairway. It's a well maintained muni course, and the staff has always been friendly to me. I prefer to walk courses instead of riding golf carts when I play, and I find this course to be very walkable. The course is widely regarded to be unplayable by the people I have spoke to in Ashland. You can't even get a tee in the ground. The folks who live on the course think it's an eye sore. The gentleman at the front desk claims the course is in disrepair because they didn't have full water last year, yet the other golf courses in Medford are all in much better condition, other than maybe bear creek which is also city owned and is a par 3 that cost next to nothing to play so you can't expect much there. I think this place is just mismanaged to the extreme. The machine that dispenses practice balls for the range is probably 60 years old and coin operated and breaks every other time you use it and you have to walk up to the front to get someone to help you. And then the practice balls are all torn up, and the practice mats are worn out making hitting the balls feel like hitting rocks off cement. I think I may get the people of Ashland to come together to force a sale of this place so that it is in the hands of private owners who can put the proper amount of money into this place to make it a viable business and golf course the people who live in Ashland can be proud of. People who pay the extra bucks to live in Ashland shouldn't have to drive all the way to Medford to play a decent round of golf.
