Nice driving range and golf center…read more The grass tees were closed for the season, which is a disappointment, however the artificial tees were pretty nice. Maybe I just haven't been to a lot of ranges, but they had adjustable tees on the artificial mats which were great and much more comparable to what you would experience in real life. The old rubber tees are terrible, this was the first time I had seen these . As for the artificial tees, they had some covered and some out in the elements. The range was very big, with a lot of room to spray the ball around and work on different shots. Not a single complaint here. Price was pretty fair in my opinion - small bucket was about $4.50 Pro shop was pretty nice as well, with a pretty huge selection of bags, clubs, clothing, golf balls, and hats...anything you need really. They also had some great deals on pre-owned sets and golf balls. We got a dozen nice (obviously used - but nice) balls for only $5

About a week ago I made a post on Facebook about a high handicapper getting a pro club fitting…read more Everyone was super helpful and made lots of different recommendations. I chose to get fitted by Jeff Jackson at Granville Golfland and my experience was so much better than I could have imagined. Why did I choose Jeff? When I made the post, he actually reached out to me personally through Facebook and via phone. He answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. My main concern was that I'm a high handicap so I want to be sure I'm investing in my game correctly. He's also close(Johnstown to Granville) so it's nice to keep my money local. What did I get out of my fitting? I learned more about how different club heads and shafts react with my swing. For instance, a lighter shaft reacts differently with my faster swing tempo than a heavier shaft. I learned how my putter reacts with my putting stroke. I learned what clubs are most beneficial to carry and what clubs I can personally leave out of the bag. Results? I'm having my driver re-shafted and weights adjusted. I ended up taking my 3 wood and 3 hybrid out of my bag for a 5 wood and 4 hybrid(which may or may not be customized in the future). I ordered a new set of irons that will have the lie adjusted and heavier shafts installed. I'm also putting a face balanced putter in my bag to match my putting stroke. Lastly, once my new clubs arrive, I'll be signing up for lessons from Golfland as well. I can't say enough about my experience and the help Jeff provided! There was one hole that had a large crevice between the green and the obstacle. It was a bummer that our ball got stuck. It was also a little weird that the last hole didn't keep the ball. When we took our balls and putters back they told us to put them back in the basket. I thought that was odd that they didn't clean the items before the next use. We saw them washing the balls from the driving range but not the putt putt.

Have been patronizing this store for a few years mainly because of location convenience but…read morehonestly, if a competitor moved in nearby, I'd go there instead. First of all, staff is pretty decent, not perfect but not the worst. They have had some turn over so your experience may vary for each visit, just don't expect too much. They seem to be chronically understaffed and 50% of the time, getting someone to set you up in a practice bay is an ordeal. Which, btw, are now overpriced considering the equipment and quality. The website is a miserable experience to book a practice bay btw and checking in to pay is just as bad. The whole process could be streamlined. Store layout is awkward af. There are two registers up front separated by the entrance so you're standing in the way of people coming, going and trying to walk through. Very often only one register is staffed by someone, so plan on waiting in a line most of the time. This is where the staffing issues are obvious, in addition, their PoS systems are glacier slow so transactions are not quick & efficient. The cashier also often has to answer the phone or take extra time with a customer's need (trade ins). Seems like this is a bottleneck in the store, makes me NOT want to purchase anything there because the wait & transaction process is painful. Again, not blaming staff, this is a PGAStore corp. decision to go cheap on PoS and create an awkward store layout & experience; thus discouraging me from wanting to purchase anything, unless I see there is no line, but there often is. Lessons & fittings. Have not personally experienced this so cannot speak to it, though others online have and it is not great apparently, do your research. However. If you want to talk golf equipment, most of the staff over at fitting bays can be knowledgeable and helpful, IF they have the time, which usually they do not because they're very busy. So often, trying a used club will also be an exercise in patience. This is sort of understandable but seriously, if an associate walks past someone hold a club looking for assistance (this has happened more than once) at least ask to make an effort. But again, most staff is friendly knowledgeable & try to be helpful. Clothing selection is adequate though pricey, even for golf. They also have the standard shoe selection, though often out of stock for most common or popular sizes. Again, do not expect much. Balls, gloves and other accessories are plentiful and pretty much as you'd expect. The putting green area is awesome. Great to just pick out a display model and try it. In the end, I only go here if I have no choice because I advocate supporting local over corporate stores and this one is an example why; too much price for a mid to low experience.

Also decided to buy a new pair of shoes. Asked the associate in the shoe section the difference between two shoes by the same brand with a $30 price difference. Response was "idk, I guess the color choices..try Google"...not what I would expect from a golf store employee, let alone one in the section I'm asking questions about

This is a phenomenal golf course and excellent condition. Fantastic staff that took great care of us and all aspects of a round of golf from beginning to end, including drinks afterwards in the clubhouse. Would recommend this course to anyone traveling to the area as the Weekday rates were really favorable to seniors

We hit it up yesterday after the Buckeyes won and got us some new Buckeye shoes and fun fab hoodies we're pretty sure once they sell out that is it. They are that fun! In the shoe department there were three associates kicking it and not approaching anyone for help so took a star down. Once my husband approached them, only then did we get what we needed. Weird. The checkout was awesome great staff who welcomed us with a smile and was super efficient and smooth with our transaction. During the COVID years, DSG kept it legit and professional with car deliveries. When I do stop for golf gear, I'm always approached in that department offering help so that makes me happy. Overall, I do love this store experience overall. Admittedly, I did try the new Polaris location the weekend of their re-opening Aug 15-17 and what a nightmare. Too loud and too big for my taste. Keep me going back to Easton as the people are great and Easton keeps it easy.

Today I was looking for a mess kit for camping. They have vast areas devoted to clothing, a whole wall of hundreds of Stanleys, 14 different dog bowls, and zero mess kits. Two little aisles of camping gear, and that's it. Their grilling section is four times as big as the camping section. I guess that's what people wanna buy, but if you are looking for outdoor supplies, this is not the place to come.
