Both Griggs and Hoover are admittedly free, but this is definitely one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. As to the course, they no longer have an attendant or a disc rental option, which is sadface, and they do go by the honor system with a lockbox for payment ($1.50 per round, or $5 all day). The course is well cared for, and no crazy overgrown areas, nor any confusion when it comes time to go to the next "hole." Likewise, the beginning of each hole has a handy dandy picture of the lay out and distances involved. They've added a water fountain at the 9th hole, which is nice, but the water tastes like wet ash (I'm guessing, here), but is wet and colder than I'd have expected. Depending on the size of your party, the course takes only a little over an hour to play through, but be forewarned, there is normally several other groups playing at any given time, so time may vary. Amusing side note, I do believe this was the first time in many a visit where I did not notice any trace of skunkery about (you can figure that out on your own, I trust). I myself don't partake, and I have not actually SEEN people blatantly enjoying, thought it worth a note if you were going family friendly levels of appropriateness. Forty-six and two, ahead of me.

It's considered an executive course - 6 Par 3s ranging from 110-165 (white tees) and 3 Par 4s, two of which are relatively tight though not lengthy. The condition is average - would rate higher of people were more diligent fixing their ball marks on the green. Green fees are more than reasonable. Kudos to the starter who let me tee up while the scheduled group was still getting ready figuring as a single I'd be clear of them quickly. not only was that the case, but I played my 9 in 65 minutes, frankly an unusual experience there but nobody was ahead of me at any time. A special thanks goes to the staff for their kindness after I locked my keys in the car, providing me phone access for multiple calls and being generous hosts while I waited for the cavalry to bring my backup keys. Regarding the course, it's a good layout for walking, seniors, high handicappers and anyone building their game. But contrary to what some might think, it's not a good course for non-golfers or those just learning to play. Dublin's Sports Center with its short Par 3 layout is a far more appropriate spot.

When I had went the grass seemed a little high but I am new to golfing so I don't know too much to height of grass for golfing. I feel I did pretty good for just starting out. The men working in the shop could be a little bit more social and personable but other than that its a great course if you don't want a full 18 holes or just something quick to get out of the house for a little bit. Overall, I would recommend this even if your a seasoned golfer or just a beginner.

Entry is $9, but you can usually get a $1 off coupon on the website. Admission also includes a free year subscription to GOLF Magazine, so you pretty much recoup your costs right off the bat.

There are some interesting layouts that will have you shooting blind to a few holes, but the U-Disc app layout is good. Speaking of that, the app defaults to a par 3, but the course markets at each hole will designate the course par for each hole. 16, 17 and 18 are par 4 by the signs but par 3s on the app. The course is kept up pretty well by the Columbus Parks folks, as they keep the grass cut and trash off the course. 18 holes Cart friendly, but No dogs though. Concrete pads Mach III target holes No restrooms on the course There is a water fountain midway through the course- let the water run for 10 secs to get cold! We followed signs to the course, which could have been a tad better, but we made it. We had frisbees in the car so we were kinda geared up. When you get to the course, there may be discs available for your use left by others. We lucked out by someone's generosity so I borrowed one- just to have options. There is an area before the course starts that you can play a game closer to the "basket" to get some practice. Each hole has a par like regular golf and every hole had its own challenges. It turns out I suck. I threw more of a hissy fit than the frisbee! I still enjoyed walking the course and watching my boyfriend play. It's such a beautiful park and a great way to spend the afternoon outdoors.

Great course that will challenge your distance and accuracy. You'll have fun and a good 3 mile…read morewalk. Take a photo of the course with your phone before you start so you can easily find the next tee. (That will help on 15.) The first half of the course is wide open and long, but there are a few tricks to learn. When the signs say there is a "drop off" they actually mean cliff! A slight over correction or hook will land you 75 feet down a steep hill before your disc even begins to roll. The back 9 are in the woods- so add trees to the distance and a nice hike on the way. In the fall the back 9 will play easier, but in spring and summer you'll fight the leaves on the trees. Par here is 63, just 1 under the much shorter course at Blendon Woods just across 161. Both courses are Fun- but Hoover is a challenge. One you'll enjoy taking. ***Note*** if you put the address into google or maps it will bring you to the middle of the course- not the start. Take Central College and a left onto Cubbage, then take the first left. Follow it to the parking lot just before the dam then you'll be set.

Pros: + This course is a good challenge from pro's and normal tees. + It's well taken care of + There are some good long throwing hole and technical holes. + A & B pin placements with regular and pro tees. + Hosts several tournaments each year + 27 holes to play + The front nine is open, and the back nine is wooded, and the back back nine (A-I) is a mixture of both. Cons: - Gets crowded when the weather is nice, and I've noticed large groups play (more than 4 people) - Parking can be a problem on the weekends. It gets very busy at those times. Park near the entrance and start at hole 10, park in the main lot, for hole 1, or park in the back or main lot for hole A. The back back 9 (A-I) aren't usually that busy. Other Thoughts: Most people I know start hole A after they play 14 and then continue on to 15 after hole I, but play it as you see fit. To get to hole 15 from 14 walk through the pine tree forest, to find A, continue forward towards the road, the pro tee is on the left and the regular tee is around to the right.
