My "tall" daughter went to the Golf Galaxy store located in Brookfield, WI to get fitted for clubs. An employee named Jim was extremely helpful. He was very professional, very respectful and very patient. He asked her questions to determined her skill level. He let her try out several different styles of clubs, new and used. He compared different price ranges with her, pros and cons. He did not pressure her or oversell. He gave her golf tips as they went along. He spent a very long time with her. She ended up buying a men's "conventional " set. It fits her perfectly, saving her money on women's custom length clubs. Thank you Jim. Thank you Golf Galaxy. read more

Their customer service is good when you want to buy something but when you are returning a defective callaway driver which the shaft snapped after two weeks of my wife using it (lucky no one was hurt) they were so unhelpful. No new driver ... we send it back to callaway for warranty they said and it would take two weeks. Now my wife doesn't have her expensive driver and they couldn't care less. I asked if they had a demo she could borrow for a golf outing she has coming up and the answer was a quick NO. Won't be buying anything from there any more. Went in on a Thursday night and tried a number of clubs. The brand I picked and the some a team member suggested I try. The team was friendly and knowledgeable. I then set up a fitting (went with Ping G425 irons) for the next day. Again, the team member was helpful and attentive through the fitting. Great experience all the way around. Given some of the prior reviews, I was prepared for a poor experience. Fortunately, that was unfounded. read more

This store's management has an attitude that is not customer friendly. I took my putter in (a gift from a friend) to have a new grip put on and I was questioned as if I had taken the putter off the display and was trying to put one over on them. "Is that club yours or ours?" I was asked. As a 67 year old professional man I was offended by the suggestion I had taken the club from the display. Not everyone is a crook. I will not shop here again. In a second related incident, a friend of mine tried to take back a Titleist driving iron he bought from this store after the shaft broke the first time he used it. They did not believe him and refused to accept the club had a faulty shaft. No takeback, no refund. I was witness to the club breaking as was a third friend playing with us. Nobody did anything to that club except try to hit a shot. There was a strange noise as the ball was struck and the shaft crumpled in the middle. Again this store's management assumes everyone is lying to them which is offensive. Now they have lost two customers who have both spent well over $1500 each with them through their atrocious customer service. read more

Customer service is severely lacking, especially for a large corporate franchise. More specifically, every interaction with Eric is met with his audible sighs, dismissiveness, berating, and extreme unhelpfulness. This a common response to reasonable inquiries and requests. It's shocking that they allow Eric to engage with customers when he's consistently proven to be incompetent, rude, and lazy. read more

Terrible experience, actually ruined my whole golf galaxy experience. Was in the store for less than 5 minutes. Have never been been to a golf galaxy and wanted to check it out. Terrible Experience - If I could give this store less than one star, trust that I would. I first called in to golf galaxy because I wanted to purchase a gift certificate as I wasn't in the area to pick one up in-store. I got "Ryan" on the phone and I, respectfully inquired about purchasing the gift certificate so that I could arrange for curbside pick-up. Ryan... already breathin' some heavy attitude, responds with "yea buddy... we don't that." I responded with "you don't do what? sell gift certificates over the phone?" "yea buddy... corporate policy" and promptly hung up on me. Giving them a second chance, I decide pay the store a visit. I am hovering around a few putters I was considering, and what do you know it, who do I run into but my good friend Ryan. I asked a simple question about the putter I had in hand to which this guy proceeded to look me square in the eye and walk past me. I made a follow-up comment to make sure he heard me... nothing. I dropped the putter, walked out and I won't be returning. Now... I know this guy is probably very important in the hierarchy of the Golf Galaxy corporate structure and there is certainly no doubt that he's more than satisfied with his life choices to land a career defining position like "generic golf dude at local golf store chain", who answers phones and probably makes $12/hr wasting every second of company time they foolishly trust him with... but c'mon hiring team, a little quality control to keep the d-squad shoveling fries at McDonalds instead tarnishing the name of, what I thought was, a quality establishment might be in order. Don't waste your time with this business. Chances are you'll get treated like garbage. And watch out for my guy Ryan (finger-guns - pew-pew) Cheers! RWT read more

We have been trying on shoes for an hour and not one person has said one word to us. We are probably the only shoppers in the store.

I don't live in the area any longer, but I wish this store was here when I was a local. They have an excellent selection, a nice facility and an extremely helpful staff. In fact, that staff is what inspired me to sign up for Yelp and write this review. On New Year's Eve, I pulled up to the store at 4:59pm. You see, my Aunt bought me a dozen balls for Xmas but unfortunately got them in pink. No way was I giving my friends that sort of material on the course. I banged on the locked door and the two guys inside opened up as I explained my predicament. They went out of their way to make the exchange happen, despite the fact that we discovered my Aunt hadn't actually purchased them there! I am often back in the Valley and I will exclusively use Golf Galaxy for my golf needs. read more

I am not from the area, but business took me past this location on a rainy day. I stopped in, bought nothing but was intrigued by "Iron Fitting $49.99". I have been thinking about changing clubs and my local country club doesn't have an instrumented bay, so this seemed like a phenomenal bargain to get an informed opinion on what was appropriate when I shopped. GG policy is that this $50 is a credit toward future clubs, by the way. I ended up with John, a PGA teaching pro, so this investment was a no brainer for me. I learned so much during that fitting, that I will not soon forget! Just swinging and talking with the pro for 45 minutes was a great education; I tried to pay more than $50 because I thought that was the value to me. Good, professional advice on ANY topic costs more than that so I think it was a stand-out bargain. I was also assigned a salesperson who let me hit several different appropriately shafted irons for comparison and managed the launch monitor; further, I can go back and do that some more at any time at no charge. I left the building a very happy camper, and will return to this location for my club purchase because they deserve my business. Ex-CEO, I have high expectations on what 'right' looks like, and this experience hit that mark. If I had to make one negative comment, I'd say my new-to-the-job salesperson of 3 weeks did not yet know his club lines, differences, pro's/con's and that would be an appropriate assignment for his slow times - which was certainly that rainy day. But my club fitting was professional and educational. I think everyone should be investing $50 periodically in a little review. By the way, when I choose the new clubs they will probably add 15yd to my 6 iron - good news! read more

The Lehigh Valley hasn't really had a decent golf store since the one on Grape Street in Whitehall closed a few years ago. Well, I think there is a store in Wescosville, but I went in there years ago and wasn't impressed. I'm usually not a chain/big box store fan, and this entire shopping center can be a real pain to get out of on busy weekends. However, the selection is good, and the staff is helpful, so I buy the majority of my golf gear here. My only complaint was that once after an iron fitting session, the staffer tried to steer me into the standard-spec set that was on the sales floor, instead of custom ordering a set, since he felt my measurements weren't too far off from standard (though I was not the standard Ping black "dot color" by Ping's definition). I did order the custom set through them anyway, but I wondered how many other people he tried to steer towards in-stock sets. read more

I have been to the store twice in the last month and spent about $700. The person who helped us the first time while trying to buy a driver was not knowledgeable or helpful, we finally had someone else step in to finish with us. Then yesterday I stopped by the store to purchase a gift card and also bought a shirt. The same person checked us out. Again when asking a question about their sales, he was abrupt to the point of being rude. When we left I told my husband how I felt and he agreed and had the same thought. No one greets you when you enter the store, they are lax on asking if you need help. And surely the Manager should train or re-train the employees on customer service. read more
