This is not a storefront, which we didn't know when we went. Still, they were able to accommodate us and showed us a few really nice pens. We were able to buy a beautiful Lamy for my mom, and she got to try it out before buying it. We got a bunch of cartridges as well. I'm looking forward to buying more stuff from them. I knew of goldspot because of their content on YouTube and had heard they were located in my home state of NJ. I figured they were only online but when I received an Amazon order from their location I figured it could be worth a visit. First of all this is certainly not a typical retail location. If you're looking for a stationary store to browse beautiful cases filled with pens then you must look elsewhere, though I'm sure the staff will still assist an uncertain shopper it is more or less a staff office where they pack and ship online orders. That being said I stopped by not exactly sure what to expect because there weren't many reviews. One of the staff asked what I was looking for - luckily I was equipped with my stationary wishlist so rattled off the next few items I really wanted they graciously wrote down what I was looking for and it was off to the races. They were very helpful to list the job options available and go through in stock ink variety with me. Unless you're absolutely sure you know what you want I would browse the site and place an order for pick up. I purchased a pen for my wife for Christmas. Tried to get it going without having to return. Changed inks, cleaned, etc. she didn't let me know it wasn't working for a couple weeks until she had a chance to try it after the holidays calmed down. Goldspot basically said without any advice to get it going that "it has been longer than 30 days", even though this was a Christmas gift and purchased though the holidays. The pen does not write smoothly and skips. If you buy something from them don't try to get it to function, just return it. My request was for store credit or refund, they said no. I wouldn't recommend goldspot to anyone as their customer service sucks read more

I spent $100.00 a month for 3 months and stopped in Oct 2012. The pen piston for the Monteverde Jewelria Fountain pen was not the right size. The Tip for the Conklin Stylograph mosaic red Fountain Pen was deformed. The pages for Rhodia journals were falling out. I was told to glue the pages back in, they would send the right piston size, mail the entire Conklin assembly back. For all the hours spent getting told there is no management staff because they never have complaints. Getting Joe on the phone telling me another week. Getting Sal on the phone and getting told he would call etc. same as Joe. It is now April, 24th 2013. I am supposedly getting another Conklin and a gift check for $99.00 for my trouble and am suppose to send the Conklin pen casing back. Oh yes, he just happen to forget the two bottles of Parker Ink that were ruined as one faded in ONE month and the other was a grotesque color Parker never intended . I am going to call the makers of every brand I purchased and tell them about Goldspot and refer them to all the other reviews here on Yelps. read more

I bought a calligraphy set from Goldspot. They sell a lot of pens, and say they sell luxury gifts. When the pen set came, the pen nibs that came with the set were not secured in the elastic bands, but floating around in the box. One nib was jammed in the pen cap. The pen cap itself was nicked and chipped. The pen set looked like a return or a second. I had ordered four ink cartridges from Goldspot. They only shipped two. Goldspot did refund my money for the two cartridges they did not send. Inferior quality product. I will not order from them again. read more

I recently purchased a fountain pen from this website. The total amount I was charged was different from what I was originally charged for. It was higher. I contacted them about this issue. The customer service was not helpful at all. I said I would return the item. They said I would be responsible for the shipping charges and the restocking fees!! All that for something that was not my fault. It was their mistake I was charged wrong! I will never purchase anything from them ever again. read more

Poor customer service for online shoppers. Granted, it was over labor day weekend, but I placed a very large order on Friday ($470). I emailed customer service later that night asking if I could switch the color of the filofax I ordered. I can see from their online helpdesk that they received my request at 8:46 am on the Tuesday after Labor Day. I received an email from Asha at 12:44 pm saying my order had already shipped. However, I hadn't even received a tracking number yet. Later I had to log in online to find the tracking number and per the UPS website it wasn't picked up until 6:15 pm. Seems like a lot of time to open the box and put in the correct color filofax I wanted. Now I have to wait to get it, send it all the way back, and HOPE they are able to correct it. Personally, I think it wasn't corrected because customer service and/or shipping did not want to bother processing the correction after their holiday weekend. I will not order from Goldspot again. read more
