The parking lot is ample. Although I have not seen any SECURITY, it still feels safe when I'm there in the morning. The Staff at Reception are always friendly and welcoming. The GYM has a good vibe. The MOVIE THEATER is a nice TOUCH! I always see maintenance personnel doing their thing, which I really appreciate. Things are tidy... Whoever thought it was a good idea to install WATERLESS URINALS is in for a SURPRISE! I've already seen/SMELLED how these FIXTURES tend to clog up, over time, and the stale URINE will begin to reek!!! If the Goal is to save resources, focusing on repairing the constant leak from the shower heads is a step in the right direction. ALL of that wasted water could be used to replace the JACUZZY water instead! (Adding an ABUNDANCE of Chlorine is NOT the solution)... BTW, WHERE IS THE SAUNA?!!! LOL I would MUCH prefer that over the STEAM ROOM... On a lighter note, one of the Main reasons I go to 'EOS' is for the Group Classes. The INSTRUCTORS are GREAT!!! (Hi 'Sunny', err 'SANDY')... The polite and friendly front desk staff will reliably turn down their "music" volume levels upon request but there's some serious equipment maintenance that needs to be addressed at this gym (see pics). This gym does a good job keeping the floor clean but why is the men's locker room being mopped during peak hours (6pm +/-)? I went to sign up for the free week and let me tell you the sign up team are high pressure jerks who told me I wasn't worth their time because I wanted to use the gym before signing up. I got to use 5 of my 7 days because that's what the sales guy said I would get. Which was fine. Then the sales guy goes from sale guy to the cool guy flirting with a girl . On day 3. I used the pool which was in the high 80s low 90s and tried to use the whirlpool which for 3 days of the 5 days cold. I mean ice cold. I asked the sales man who decided I wasn't worth his time about it on day 2 which he said yea whatever I'll get right on that. I will say that the change room had a good collection of broken sinks with yellow caution tape on them. The porter who cleaned the place kept it clean. That guy was working. The pool which was way too hot was basically a chlorine bath every day I used to it felt like they had just added the shock tablet on it but yet it still was cloudy. The last straw is the fact I called to talk to the gm about it. After I have received a call every day since my 5 of 7 day pass ended from the same sale guy. I have been on hold for 18 mins because he is to busy and I should call back tomorrow at 1030. These guy don't want your business unless you sign up on the first day. read more

Rather than fixing their gym, they enforce made up arbitrary rules on loyal customers. MARTIN threatened to terminate my membership, and condescendingly said I pay less than a dollar a month, because I gave him feedback about fixing something that has been broken for months. This was because of my foot attire by the way. I've been there for years and it's the first I've heard of this requirement. There are no signs or agreements within the contract, so it came across as a power trip. Anyway, since they have an eye for sandals, here's how they keep up their gym. Enjoy the pics. I have memberships in multiple gyms because I love options and I'm picky about group classes. This gym is one of my favorites. What do I do here: I mostly take classes, especially body pump, because they're are well structured. I know exactly what to do and always have equipment. All my instructors are TOP stars ( Sandy & Will for pump, Cleo for Zumba, and other instructors that come & go are awesome too) Result : Attending Sandy's classes regularly transferred my body from average to fit. Group classes also gives me dopamine for entire day!!! Staff members outside of Instructors: Welcoming & friendly , keep it up! Cleanliness: I approve, most of the time it's in good shape. Thank you. Complain: I don't get update if classes are changed or canceled . So I would drive all the way for nothing. I get a real time notification if classes are changed with LA Fitness. I love the Montclair Gold Gym it's clean and the staff is very respectful . You must know I had to move to LA Koreatown lad year however I prefer the Montclair gym versus DTLA therefore I commute at least once a week if not two when possible. I love the move when I work out it's a true booster and in general it's my favorite place . I would Die if i could not go anymore the only reason I would not is when I move to Europe. if there is one thing is the women has to stop entering the steam room with their shoes and sit there feet on the bench that us other women sit with our bathîng suit that is disgusting and direspecful I wish you would sent a reminder to all people that it is strickly forbiden to enter the steal bath with shoes that they walled all over the streets with especially putting their feet with shoes on the bench where we sit! on. it would be very helpful because although it is written by the door as the rules , they are not reading it and ignoring this rule! I am a 66 year old senior with Silver Sneakers Medicare coverage who decided to shell out some bucks to have a personal trainer orient me in my new gym. The personal trainer was wonderful but there's something shady about the bait and switch of the terms of the personal training. These people ripped me off for an additional $200 ON TOP OF the $600 I had already paid for a 3 month subscription for training. I got the royal runaround from three different management types for the entire length of April 2025 before I threw in the towel and let these greedy bastards have my money. But it's the last time I will. Plus the gym is a loud dungeon for cold and unfriendly Montclair 20 and 30 somethings. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! I had this as a 4 star review but updating it to a 1 after my experience to cancel my membership. I was in the area and signed up to try it out for the 3 days that I was there. There was a free 3 day pass on Yelp but the salesperson said she could not do that but offered me $25 for a1 month pass which I could cancel ANYTIME. I asked multiple times and she said ANYTIME! Fair enough. She asked my my bank info, made me sign a bunch of documents which she said were all standard. Seemed innocent enough but shame on me for not being more alert and attentive. More on this later. The 3 days there were fine. The gym is pretty big and has all the equipment that you would want. They have a pool and something I have not seen elsewhere...a cardio cinema. A place to watch a movie while you are working out. A cool idea! One complaint would be that it was quite busy no matter the time I went and getting the machines that you want might require a wait. The drama began after I tried to cancel. When I called to cancel, they asked they me why I wanted to talk to membership. When I said to cancel they said I had to call corporate. When I called corporate, they said they could not cancel and I had to call the location. WTH!! After being stuck on this loop 3 times, I decided to try a different tact. I called the location and said I needed to extend my membership...lo and behold, I was patched through right away. Now the membership lady says she cannot cancel and I need to call back in a month. What sort of shady operation is this!!! I have wasted so much time on this nonsense. Hopefully their management will get my case resolved after which I will happily update this review. Joe G. Honest review/ most machines don't get fixed in a timely manner: tons of equipment is broken right now and it's been weeks. The hours are trash, the gym specifically is trash while other golds are worth going to this one isn't:. Before you invest you money consider these things. Also no sauna, they lock the cycling room to us when there isn't a class going on: Always packed too. Check out other local clubs that offer better hours for the same price. However, if you decide to get a free weekly pass, be prepared for the salespeople to hound you relentlessly. The gym itself I'd give it a solid 4 star Personal trainer Jhonatan Lopez, 1 star My experience with Jhon was I had a welcome workout which was solid overall. Then I got sold training sessions. My experience after that is what needs improvement. Jhon took I'd say up to 3 business days or more (sometimes up to 2 weeks!) to respond to a simple text message. And then I was going through some transportation issues and Jhon did not check up on me until like 3 weeks later (which I told him let's try next week). Overall Jhon needs to work on his communication with his clients. I was never able to get a single workout in with Jhon and I am leaving Golds Gym so that $300 I spent went to waste (thank you Gold's Gym for taking my money :/). I highly do not recommend Jhon as your personal trainer. read more
