I'm honestly disappointed and frustrated with my experience here. I found out our family insurance plan offers a Gold's Gym discount, so I tried to apply it to my membership when signing up. My wife is the primary policyholder and submitted the required form with my date of birth, phone number, and all the ID numbers. However, Gold's Gym staff kept insisting my name had to appear on the submitted form--even though the form is generated by an automated email system that only shows the primary policyholder's name no matter what you do. I also had my insurance card (showing both our names) and my ID available, but that still wasn't enough. To add to the frustration, when I tried to talk to someone higher up--like the owner or a manager--to get some common-sense resolution, I got absolutely no help. It was like talking to a brick wall. And to top it all off, they don't even offer a veteran's discount, which I find unbelievable in this day and age. I'm only going to this gym because of the insurance rate, but the sheer lack of common sense and customer service has left me really disappointed. I hope they can improve how they handle straightforward situations like this, because it really shouldn't be this hard. They get two stars just because the equipment is kept up. read more

They've replied that someone attempted to reach out to me, but never did. It's ok and no longer necessary. The person I encountered threw out number of prices. Never gave me a printout on anything about memberships. Didn't show me around. When I ask if I can meet the trainer, she said I had to be a member! That was my whole purpose of coming into that gym. Money is not an option. I literally pulled up in a G wagon that I bought for my 15-year-old daughter. So I'll just spend my money elsewhere. I have plenty of money to hire a Personal Trainer to come to my inside home gym . Wanted to support someone in a community, I guess I'll do as rich folks do and hire someone to train me in my home gym. Today there was not 1 way to clean any equipment. No wipes and no spray bottles. The desk said it is back ordered. Nobody had the ability to go across the street to buy wipes or spray. Disgusting. The paper towel dispensers have been removed from the restrooms because they want you to use the hand dryer. You can't wipe your face or blow your nose in the hand dryer. Not a positive ownership change. Cleanliness was never a problem before. read more

I had to change gyms during this COVID-19 thing as my old gym was closed down as well as many others. This gym was much closer to my house and also was one of the ones that were able to open the quickest as they jumped on the guidelines as to how the gym should be safely run. This lace caught my eye as you can only do so much home video workouts from the previous gym. I went there and was given a tour of the facility and I liked everything I saw. Social Distancing: During my tour I was shown all of the equipment and also noticed that every other piece of equipment was marked with a sign. Basically that sign was telling you that you couldn't use it. Which on the treadmills, the bikes, and all others, space was in between every piece of equipment. Health Bar: There is also a bar in the establishment where you can get pre or post workout smoothies. Pretty much what you desire they have as well as a refrigerator/cooler with water, protein drinks or other juices you may need for a price. As far as I know, there is no cash accepted. Equipment: The equipment is very up to date with televisions on treadmills as well as some other equipment. There is nothing old in this establishment. Child Care: They did have child care in this establishment but as of now it had to be shut down due to the COVID situation. This gym during normal circumstances pretty much has everything you would need. Conclusion: People always say that you get what you pay for. As this used to be a 24 hour gym, that time also had to be scaled back. However you're allotted plenty of time to do what you need to do here as well as the time you need to do it. read more

This place is so dirty! I have been going to the Golds on Duluth hwy for years and it is spotless compared to this gym. The hand sanitizers are empty. The soap in the bathroom - empty. The same dirt from tennis shoes on the floor by the leg machines for a week! Honestly, it doesn't look like the equipment has been cleaned/ dusted for weeks. At the Golds in Duluth hwy you would always see cleaning crew cleaning, the floors, etc. I have been here 8 times at various times and days during the week and I have yet to see anyone cleaning. I've been coming to Gold's Gym - Dacula for about 2 months now. I mostly come M-F, well at least I try too. This location is 5 mins from my house, which is the biggest reason I switched from LA Fitness to Gold's. It took a while for me to adjust to the facility bc of its size and how all the equipment was close together...made me feel crammed. The membership fee is about the same as LA Fitness, the classes are more intense-I love Gold's Centergy class and their Zumba class. They offer a Cinema room where U can watch a movie while u work out...I've never taken part it that, but I defiantly have to try it out. The machines they use, are new to me & excellent bc you can log all ur workouts from the machine; you can even watch What ever u want from the screen and not what they are playing on the TVs around the facility. They're very user friendly and high tech, which I love. Every staff member that I've come in contact with, is friendly & personable. I could hand out there all day... But the best part of it all, is their merchandise. They have theeee most cutest T-shirt's for women. I hope to collect them all. read more

I love this gym! Firstly, let me say that for the past 4 years I have worked out exclusively at Planet Fitness. PF has served my needs for a long time due to the cheap membership cost and the fact that they have everything needed for a good workout if you're a beginner. This year, I decided to try other gyms because of the progress that I have made and I'm glad I came to Gold's. I worked out for one day and instantly knew I wanted a membership. - The locker room/bathroom The locker room and bathroom areas are always clean. There are multiple urinals and more than enough lockers to serve members needs. There are also showers and a fair sized sauna -Weights The dumbbell area is stocked with dumbbells going up to 150 lbs (I think), barbells are plentiful, and there are multiple machines that are all in fair to excellent condition. Two smith machines, two old school style squat racks and three deadlift platforms are available. The first day here I felt like a kid in the candy store with all the different options! The one downside is the machines are all fairly close to one another, which can be a nuisance if you're concerned about the 'rona. -Cardio Five stair climbers and a bunch of bikes and treadmills. They also offer cycling classes, which I definitely plan on taking advantage of in the future. -Overall environment This was the deal sealer for me. As an aspiring bodybuilder and personal trainer, I can say that this is one of the best environments I've experienced. Almost everyone in the gym is focused on their goals and putting in work! I'm used to Planet Fitness, where a lot of people come just to hang out, socialize, and hog up machines for an hour while they text on their phones. Aside from the machines being so close to one another, this is in my opinion the perfect gym for the fitness enthusiast. One last thing to note: They do not offer a membership for access to other Gold's gyms. Not a big deal if you're not a traveler. read more

I cannot wait until my membership expires so I can take my business elsewhere. Lemme tell ya. It's crowded during fairly non peak hours. Not a warm environment. BUT the main reason I'm ready to leave is the check in system. This is my first time at a gym where they stand at the desk and take your key and scan it instead of letting you do it - today, they made me stand there while they did something for another member and the employee had their hand covering the scanner so I couldn't scan in. Seriously????? Another time I left my Apple Watch and came back 30 minutes later and they flipped when I tried to walk by without scanning and I was literally running late for a meeting and just had to grab my watch. It's just bizarre. I'm in there 3 days a week. Y'all know my face. Whatevs. read more

This is my second membership renewal. I do love this place for a great work out. Although I have many choices of gyms around me I still chose this location. Most of the staff is friendly, which is why I give it a 4/5. My concerns have been addressed via email which is the front desk issue. One person in particular is why I have given this rating. Other than this, the classes are great!! The equipment is a little close together but that doesn't bother me much. They have a great smoothie bar and merchandise. This is the dirtiest gym I've ever used! And the service mirrors the lack of cleanliness! I used this facility while visiting GA and was treated very poorly by management, after asking for money back that they overcharged me on. The manager was extremely unprofessional. She was loud, rude, confrontational, and disrespectful! I left without the money they owed me because "it was my fault I overpaid". Its unfortunate this place shares the Gold's name. Gym is alright. It has all of the equipment you could possibly want and a great selection of cardio equipment. There is also a really cool interval training area. Pretty crowded all day. I have been at 6AM and 12-2PM and it is crowded every time I go, which I don't typically find to be a huge issue. The staff didn't show me the gym my first time there, they just gave me a pass and said have a good workout. I asked about personal training packages and I was told they didn't have any info on it like at all... I just asked for a basic pricing sheet or to at least speak to someone and I was told l if I wanted it I needed to email the manager myself, which really isn't a huge deal but I was ready to purchase personal training right then? Pricing for a membership is not bad at all, I just wish the staff was a bit more attentive to the guests. Would have given 5 stars if I experience was a bit better. read more

So, the response that I received from Gold's Auburn Rd., Dacula, GA management to my first post about being highly distressed about the elimination of the Cardio Cinema room was, "We'd love to discuss with you your concerns...call to speak with a manager." Hmmm, shouldn't management have, at the very least, polled the members, i.e., "spoken" with us in some manner BEFORE making this drastic change??? I am definitely not the only member left scratching my head and heartbroken about the fact that the Cardio Cinema is now gone. Love it! I've been coming to this location for a year and a half. The gym is always clean, and the staff is super friendly. The only issue is lightning around the whole gym, and the use of high velocity fans in the cycling room. The lights are extremely bright, not as they used to be when I first joined. Also, the fans in the cycling room are unnecessary. As one who tends to ride at the back row, I am always plagued with the smell of the people in front of me as the fans blow into my face. The fans that are on the floor should be taken away. The ceiling fans are enough to keep people cool. I do not find it necessary to be smelling people during my cycling classes. read more

I thoroughly enjoy this Gold's Gym because it's close to home and affordable. They've recently upgraded all their cardio equipment with the Matrix screens so you can surf the web, listen to music, watch TV, charge your phone, and/or turn on the personal fan. You also have more workout options per machine, too. This isn't a huge gym like LA Fitness, but you can attend classes, go into the cardio cinema (a dark room with cardio equipment and a movie playing on the big screen), or hit up any of the machines or weights on the floor. My only gripe with this gym is that there is literally NO WHERE to park during peak hours (like Monday at 6 pm). I've left the gym because I circled for about 10 minutes for nothing. I suggest going after 8 if not earlier in the day. The weekends are better, too. End your workout with a trip to the in-house sauna, tanning room, or juice bar. I love this gym- this is the first Gold's gym that I have belonged to and while it's not the most amenity laden facility there are so many great things that Gold's offers! The equipment is well maintained and there is a lot of it, the cardio cinema is awesome and they rotate the movies often, and all the people I've met there from management to instructors and childcare are friendly and seem to enjoy working there! For me childcare is a necessity and Jordan, Pam and the other girls working there are awesome. My girls have a good time when I drop them off- they sometimes go into the theatre room and watch a show or color and play with stickers or with the many toys they have. They have very decent hours and are open on weekends too! And the classes! There are SO many and they are all fantastic! I've tried Pound, Fight, Power, Active, Centergy and Barre- I love that I have a lot of options as there are multiple offered each day. Some people might be looking for a place with a pool or toiletries in the bathroom, etc and this isn't that kind of place (you even need to bring your own towels) but if you're looking for a place where you can really work out, get in shape and stay motivated (and enjoy some childcare or the occassional smoothie) for an inexpensive monthly commitment then Gold's is the place to go! read more

The setup of this gym isn't bad. The most aggravating things there are the paper towel dispensers that work horribly and tear the paper towels up and the fact that they have a male clean the women's locker room. They put a sign out for when he will be in there and on more than one occasion, he has been in the locker room outside of those posted hours. Here's a bright idea, how about you just have a woman clean the women's locker room?!? Other than that, the equipment is nice, the cardio cinema area is great, and the personal showers are a definite plus. read more

My family and I have really loved Gold's Gym! It's local and has really nice childcare. The childcare staff is super friendly and they take great care of our kids. They even offer a parents night out once a month and our kids Love going to that! The friendly staff always says hello when you walk in and are very sweet. The upstairs cardio area is really nice. Lots of great options to choose from. I wish there was a more open space area to be able to do exercises like burpees and lunges, etc but I have been able to make it work. The classes are great and the instructors are very encouraging and do a great job teaching you. My husband and I both take classes and enjoy them. Also, the locker room is really spacious and the showers offer plenty of room to get ready! Overall, it's great! read more

Don't do it !! To $$$$ and not that great.... I joined this gym after being a long time LA fitness member because it was closer to home. It's not a big gym but I figured I would give it a go. It's more expensive then I was paying at LA but I figured it's ok cause I'll save on driving time. I do miss having more equipment and the classes offered at LA are better and happen more often..... I was still getting a feel for Golds gym when after a couple of months Covid-19 shut everything down including the gym yet I was charged April's membership but the gym was closed. I tried many, many, many, times to call as did my husband and got a voicemail that said to email them. The email they gave on the recording would bounce back however I had an email from when I signed up so I emailed them there with no reply. After many failed attempts to contact them via phone and email I just figured it was a loss. I called on May 28 to freeze my account and spoke with Joan Ferrante. She said we were able to freeze the account for three months but since the payment for May was pending there is nothing she could do about the payment but her delivery was horribly rude, unprofessional and straight nasty when all that was being asked is if there is anyway we could get out money back. "You can't call me the day of and expect me to help you" lol I don't understand why we the "customers" can't call you the day of asking for help? Makes no sense. Even if there is nothing that can be done (which is doubtful cause this gym seems like they swindle you money at any cost) why not relay the message with some professionalism, tact and class.... well I moved on to the next subject that I had been charged for a month they were closed after many attempts to contact them and she claimed they were there taking calls 8 hours a day which is a down right LIE. She was almost insinuating that I hadn't tried contacting them. I pulled out the email and dates and told her when I had emailed them and called them and she claimed that no one received a call or email.... I've worked in customer service for YEARS and Joan is exactly what they teach you not to be like when you are working in the customer service field. She's so rude and unprofessional!!..... look all in all even without this Covid situation they over charge and charge a maintenance fee 2x a year. LA fitness doesn't charge that at all and other gyms only charge this fee once a year.... this gym isn't even modern or big and doesn't offer what other gyms do for it to be charging what they do. Don't get yourself into a headache with the agreements (contract) or being over charged by a mediocre gym. I know now I would rather drive further for a better quality gym and better quality customer service where I know I'm not going to be swindled..... read more

Completely unprofessional! Nice gym with great class leaders, but continually poorly managed. Had a customer service issue and tried to get some help over the phone, but the manager hung up on me 3 times without me raising my voice or having any issue with her, just needed a question answered. Really be aware of your full contract before signing on with Gold's. They will find all sorts of ways to get extra fees and money out of you with no service in return! read more

This gym is my favorite as the classes are the best than any other gym I've been to. I appreciate that this gym takes the time and shows that they value their members by having members appreciation once a month. They have free samples which who doesn't love free. The parking lot is inadequate. The cardio theater is absolutely wonderful. The staff is very polite. They have plenty of weight machines and free weights. They have two separate cardio areas. It is very clean. The men's locker room is kept clean and in good repair. Unlike another reviewer I had no problem canceling my membership when I moved. The cost of membership is very reasonable considering the hours it's open, how clean it is, the great movies, the cardio theater, work out equipment and how great the staff are. read more

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! I signed a 2 year contract for membership and a 1 year contract for training. While my membership contract it is not so much the problem the training contract has been horrible for me. I was put with a trainer against my wishes due to her availability and was told to "try it". After a few months I simply could not take accommodating my life to HER schedule anymore and requested a new trainer. Come to find out she lied, she's at the gym every evening when I am there, however she claimed not to be available when I requested evening sessions. The new trainer showed no interest in tracking my progress. We did the same workouts from week to week adding no variety, IF she showed up for my sessions. Sessions were constantly being cancelled or starting late. Now that trainer no longer works for golds gym, was fired for substance abuse issues. I have 1 month left in my contract and was told I would have to get a new trainer, this will be my third trainer since I have been on this contract... ALL I simply ask was to not be charged for the last month and be set free from this training nightmare due to the horrible experience I have had with the Gold's Gym trainers. No matter how much I plead my case they absolutely will not change their minds! PLEASE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACTS. You can purchase training sessions without a contract, which they don't tell you because they want to lock you into a contract regardless of whether they hold up their end of it or not. I WILL NEVER SIGN ANOTHER CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN! I WAS WARNED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE BEFORE NOT TO ENTER IN ANY CONTRACTS WITH THIS GYM AND NOW IM WARNING YOU! read more

If I could give this gym negative stars, I would. They are very happy to have you as a "customer"... using that term loosely... but things mysteriously start to disappear and stories change when you try to cancel your membership. TAKE THIS ADVICE: If you plan to buy a membership or already got roped into one, sign a cancellation form in person ASAP. Do it the day you sign the initial contract if possible. Get a copy of the form initialed by a manager and keep that for your records. Otherwise, I can promise you that it will be gone and and nobody will know what you are talking about when you realize you have been charged for months after your contract expired. NEVER do business with any gym that operates in this way! I will forever be a very outspoken critic of their membership practices! read more

This gym was easy to join and it was even easier to cancel my membership. The cardio theater was wonderful, great movies and a very good selection of cardio machines. They have a good selection of work out equipment & the gym is clean. They staff are also pretty friendly. The parking lot isn't big enough, making it difficult to find a parking spot at times and the parking spaces seem smaller than average. I was also disappointed that nutritional information seems to be unavailable for the smoothies they sell. I really like that one day a month they give members a wide variety of free samples or everything from coconut water, to vitamin c , deodorant & hair care products.I would strongly suggest saving a copy of the contract you sign when you join, which should make canceling easier should you choose to cancel your membership. I'd definitely join this gym again if I were looking to join a gym in the area. read more

Absolutely terrible front desk service and certain employees will tell you misleading information. So I spoke with someone on the phone about canceling my membership and they told me a person was available to service me with my request 24/7. So I drive 60 miles from my house to this gym only to come in and I stand at the front desk obviously staring at the employees so they could help assist me. And the female at the front desk looks at me and ignores me and continues talking to her co-worker. She didn't even turn to ask me what I needed help with until she was done with her conversation. Then I told her I need assistance with canceling my membership and she tells me that service is only until 8pm and it was already 9pm. Maybe train your employees to be more professional because they're doing a terrible job at it, with telling misleading information and ignoring their customers. I've been a member since 2013 and once I cancel I'm never going back to this gym. Not if their service continues to be this terrible. read more
