I had my ring resized, larger, November 2024, Goldmart sent the ring to their jeweler out of state. Received the ring back, thinking it was very thin, but they were the experts, paid $130 to resize. By March 2025 (less than 4 months later) the piece put in by their jeweler (to make the ring larger) fell out! Goldmart kind of shrugged their sholders, saying we do not use them anymore for repairs. Goldmart sent their ring to a new jeweler, because they did use their prior jeweler, where to repair the ring would be $350! I had them send my ring back unfixed. I had the ring repaired locally at a different jeweler for $50. read more

I love this shop! I started going there with my elementary age son with the hope I could interest him in coin collecting to boost his math skills. Their numismatist Bill understood right away what I was trying to do! He took time to show my son some really fun coins with all kinds of themes. We had no idea there was such a huge variety of silver "coins". They have silver skateboards, paper airplanes, reproductions of famous art works, and licensed cartoons. Our favorite is the 2 ounce Big Foot silver coin with great color and detail. He not only hooked my son on coin collecting, but I also developed an interest in "broken bank notes". I really appreciate the attention and care he takes to help my budding numismatist. Bad repair. Jeweler flattened out the prongs on a ring in an effort to make the stone fit after I paid to have the prongs built up. Will never go back. Public won't notice a lot of jewelry tricks, but what we need here is a big helping of honesty and integrity. read more

Update: I got my ring back but unfortunately it was still too small despite being sized up. It came back as a size 7.25 but needed to go to 7.75! They took very good care of me though and had it sent away and I was able to pick it up this afternoon. It fits perfect now and it looks beautiful. Whether you are ring shopping, needing work or repairs done on a piece of jewelry, or buying bands to add to my ring, I'm so happy to have had such a nice experience with all the employees from Goldmart. I'm hesitant to give these guys a 5 star rating. All the staff are friendly and were wearing masks when serving me. But if a customer walked in without a mask they would not put one on. I'm trying to keep these reviews to either a 5 or 1 star biased entirely on the reasonable actions businesses are taking to help keep our county off the watch list. I'm settling on 5 because I would take any effort vs. no effort like many other businesses are doing. Beginning to end, was a terrible experience. Went in for a ring resizing and request for an appraisal; manager was condescending and scoffed at my fiancé buying the ring online. A few days later, I was contacted and told that after they began resizing the ring they noticed "major structural issues". I was told there was no way that the resizing process would have caused these issues, but was frustrated that they did not see these issues before beginning the resizing process. In addition, the appraisal came out about half of what we paid for the ring and the manager said "that's what happens when you buy rings online." He said if we had gone to him with the money we paid, he could have built the same ring with a "much bigger diamond" which was incredibly condescending and offensive to me. At this point, there was no way to return the ring as it was impossible to prove the structural issues were not caused by the resizing process, and because the ring had been altered we could not return the ring to get another for the appropriate value. The manager acted like he was doing us a favor by offering to fix the structural issues for free (which he only did when I came into the store in person with my fiancé to discuss the plan with the ring). Finally received the resized ring and one year later, it has a large stress fracture where it was resized. I took it into a different jewelry store and they immediately found one other fracture. I was so excited when I got engaged and was so happy with the ring and felt mistreated through the entire experience. read more

Recently went shopping for an engagement ring and they have an estate section and then a bridal section with mixed in estate jewelry that I wasn't aware of. I went to Goldmart to buy silver eagles when silver dropped to $12.50 an ounce. Standard dealer premium over spot price of silver eagles is 2-3 dollars. Goldmart is now charging $11 over spot price on silver eagles which is artificially inflating the price of silver and is anti capitalist behavior. Goldmart is overcharging it's customers during a national emergency. I will never do business with Goldmart again. read more

I WANT TO START WITH SAYING I WILL ALWAYS TRY TO PATRONIZE LOCAL PRIVATELY OWNED COMPANIES BUUUUUT: They (well truthfully one sales person, but others heard her) did the same thing to my diamond ring. Platinum, the solitaire diamond stone (we hand picked) had alone appraised at $5600 and is also micro etched with a unique # for ID if stolen, all the papers & the whole nine yards. Anyways, I wasn't even there to get anything, I was with my friend who was looking at rings & she commented on how one they had there under their case, kinda looked like mine. I answered "yes, except my diamond is slightly more rectangle." (On the certificate of auth & identification it's described as an "emerald cut shaped diamond") I was just making an observation, not a deterrent. Then, out of no where the sales woman quickly cut in and spouted out that that kind of shape- "if they are more rectangle, it would be considered to be irregular so it's worth less." Wait, WHAT?????? She hadn't even seen it bc I had left it to be cleaned at the first jeweler we went to that day to look at rings for my friend???!! She began going on & on how my 8000+ ring must be a piece of left over crap. (Crap was my word, to be fair but not the left over comments) I didn't even buy it here in Redding, I had to go to Sac to find an actual professional jeweler that I could sit with us(while armed guards stood close by to protect them) and look through a spread of diamonds all registered, had the cards right there to check the "CCC." Anyways my friend & I just looked at each other & walked out. Clearly she wasn't a good rep for the company. I was treated with kid gloves at the store in Sac, I felt as important as the diamond! I know I'm not sporting a $30,000 rock but my goodness, who in this universe would think that a woman wouldn't feel a little tense if someone started ripping on the one piece of jewelry that we all know holds a special place in our hearts! I'm not in jewelry sales but I'm pretty sure I'd always try to find the beauty in whatever piece of jewelry a woman might be talking about. Her comments were just out of place & really just weirdly... idk, hostile? Just out of place & we weren't there ripping on other things there or anything-just looking having a nice day out shopping....so yea..bummer. I can't speak towards their work/repairs I'm sorry to say. I have skipped their store bc of her treatment. That may be to MY detriment, although I found a delightful little shop here in town that does my small repairs. About two weeks ago I brought an old sterling silver ring in looking to have it repaired. Nathan was super helpful in determining what needed to be fixed on the ring and immediately put it in the repair process. Called this company to get a simple answer as to how much do they pay per gram for 10k scrap gold and was told they can't tell me over the phone. I asked do they pay by penny weight? Spot price market? Or per gram? And was told they pay per gram but the fella wouldn't tell me the price per 10k gram and wanted me to bring my item in... really? You expect a customer to go out in public and drive to you, during a pandemic, only to ask the exact same question to you that you outright refused to answer on the phone... three times I asked and three times was told he will not share how much they pay for gold... they are scammers - professionals would share what their current rate for today is for 10k, 14k, 18k etc. He wasted my breath asking him three times and must be insane if he thinks I will drive to their location to waste my time, gas, mileage, only to be told the same thing when I get there. That's some kind of stupid for sure. I don't need you to look at my item, I needed you to tell me what your going rate is... Don't use this company they will try to treat you like a fool and take advantage of your situation. There seems to be no ethics and definitely no customer service and no professionalism. Beware! My opinion is that some of the people working here are crooks. I took a wedding set in to sell. The gal that greeted me was friendly and asked if she could take my ring in back really quick for their jeweler to look at since I didn't have any paperwork on me regarding the ring. About a minute later she came out of the back and told me that their jeweler said the main diamond on the ring was too colored and bad quality and was not worth anything to them. They said they could give me the amount that the gold bands were worth which was a few hundred bucks. I skeptically raised my eyebrows at the girl. She leaned in and whispered to me that I would be better off taking the ring and going somewhere else to have it looked at. I left the store slighly panicked and wondering if maybe the last time I had the ring cleaned and prongs checked that someone had swapped the diamond. I knew there was no way that the Goldmart jeweler could be right in offering me a few hundred bucks for the ring that we had purchased 17 years ago and cost closer to 10k unless the diamond had been swapped. I went to a 2nd store right after I left the Goldmart and had another gal look at the ring. Their jeweler was gone for the day. She commented on the beauty of the ring, but couldn't give me a value. She instead refered me to an appraiser. I left the 2nd store and went to see the GIA certified appraiser. The appraiser was booked too far out to do a full appraisal on the ring, but after hearing my story, they quickly looked at the ring to inspect the diamond. The appraiser told me that the diamond was absolutely beautiful and the main stone itself was worth retail $6,000-$7,000 alone. The bands and other diamonds on the ring would just increase that value. I completely understand that you never get full value back out of wedding rings and usually people are lucky to get half back. The few hundred bucks offered by the Goldmart is an absolute joke and why I'd easily refer to them as crooks. I'll be having the ring fully appraised after all of this, but it's a shame that there are businesses that try and take advantage of people who don't have full paperwork on their jewelry. During the half-hour plus that I was there, Nathan carefully measured diamonds, looked for chips, told me what kind of colored stones were in the rings, and gave me an idea of what they would sell for. His knowledge of diamonds, colored stones, and overall expertise was fabulous and SO appreciated! I was happy about how pleasant he was to work with, that he knew jewelry inside-and-out, and was willing to take the time to give me information on my jewelry items. This is THE place to go to if you're looking for nice jewelry. Recently came in for an engagement ring. I looked in rough shape but the staff greeted me right away and tended to me. BRYCE was so nice and helpful. He has vast knowledge of diamonds, gemology, and metallurgy. He is also very eloquent in the way he explains different cuts and grades. I needed this ring ASAP. We decided on a Facets of Fire diamond but the band I picked was too small. Michael that handles the QC was able to get my ring set so I could present it the same day. I then came back to get it resized the next day and it was all done the day after. This place is amazing and I truly feel they care about the customer. They went above and beyond what I'd ever expect. My fiance couldn't be happier and this diamond sparkles like no other. They've definitely got a customer for life and I will be referring people here.
